Dude, part of the whole "social interaction" thing involves rules of etiquette. I know, bummer. Smash isn't just about the game itself, but also the community and social interactions that take place in and around the game.

And that is why, in BC, so many players have quit or are no longer interested in coming out that often. There's no need to name-drop, but there have been more than a few smashers who are just not attracted to the kind of behaviour/environment that the BC smash scene tolerates.

But of course, there will be a bad@ss who thinks he is too self-important, too "whatever" for these kinds of considerations. You can enter the real world whenever you'd like.

Damn. I shouldn't have come to this thread. I was all happy about Melee's Evo fund. Started thinking about how awesome the community was and then read his Michael's bull**** and the reality of our local scene came crashing back.

Manuel's right kid. Just because he's religious doesn't mean what he's saying is incorrect. I also agree with Evan that what I've seen of you in person makes you out to be a pretty normal guy but your posts over the last page or two (or last few pages for you folks on inferior <40 posts per page) are incoherent and insane. Maybe you're teachers and parents need to keep repeating themselves because you don't seem to understand the basic rules of civility that a 5 year old should know?

I wasn't singling you out; I meant what I said for whoever it applies to. If you think that it applies to you, you're only confirming what everyone else already believes.

By all accounts, I am a far better critical thinker than you. Like, we're in different leagues. You are the intellectual Brawl to my Melee. You make it sound as if I haven't spent much more time thinking about the same questions you think you know the answer to. Doesn't it bother you that millions of people much smarter than you (or I) have had the same questions as you and come to a different conclusion? Shouldn't that at least get you to respect other people's perspectives? Maybe you would be more respectable if you did.

Agreed. There are a couple of great people in BC -- I'm looking at Dazrin and Violence -- who go out of their way to help the community thrive. Then there the ones who lead a self-serving lifestyle that spills over into how they play video games with others. How distasteful.
