I heard the results from MagnuM!

Singles :
1. Mike (obvious?)
2. Jarrod (obvious)
3. Nick (Punch Crew)
4. Wilfred !!!!!!
10. (something like that) Adam

Doubles :
1. Mike and Nick
2. Jarrod and Aaron
3. Adam and Wilfred!!!

Low Tier:
1. Mike
2. Sid
3. MagnuM

It seems that MagnuM and Adam had a bad day at the tournament, the days when you just cannot l cancel, short hop, fast fall, wave dash... those horrible days. I heard that the finals might have been recorded. Overall I know that Wilfred knocked out MagnuM (close match) and Adam lost to Aaron and somebody else, and ended up placing lower than MagnuM.

EDIT: Forgot to say... NICE JOB WILFRED AND ADAM!! I hope you guys had a great time, when you guys come back (I know you are going to stay for a lot of friendlies on sunday), you must fill us in. I hope you guys know that now us B.C.ers must run a large tournament and ALL OF ALBERTA is invited (hopefully we can hold one).

Hehe.. now I'm just itchin' for a piece of Mike :p Hopefully we didn't get slaughtered TOO badly over there

I know the top placers are posted, but any clue as to where Adam and Wilfred placed? Hopefully like, 5th or something :p btw, is that 3rd-place in singles our BC-Nik? or the Alberta-Nik?

Hmm.. It would be awesome for BC to hold a big smash-bash too :D Maybe we should set a date now and start looking for an available place. How bout sometime like.. a month or two later?

How about in July and August? I have plans on taking summer school for some grade 12 courses, so hopefully I can make these. We can have a lot of smashfests but then it might get a bit boring with the same old people coming. Nik, any suggestions? Tournament placing is hard, remember to rule out community centres unless you are willing to pitch $30/hr for renting, then we would NEED a good turn out. Housing would be cool, but need a large house with no limit. Also I want OUTSIDE COMPETITION, we have to lure these people out of BC. I have met a guy from Victoria who is pretty interested in coming here in the summer, that's some new competition. Some people from Kelowna play, but I do not know if they are going to come here. Edmonton would be great, and hopefully SKYPAL can make it this time :)

I'm okay with either July or August. I guess we should ask to see if outside people would be willing to come, and then see if they have a preference. There might be quite a bit of summer school/summer job people so maybe during a weekend would be good?

We should probably try for a Saturday. If we book now then we might save a few bucks. I don't have any idea where we could go though. Schools aren't open in the summer, but if we can get a school gym or something with a lotta outlets to plug our stuff in, then that would probably be cheaper than a community centre.

We can also try church gyms, like at Melee FC. I heard that one is able to rent out the gym, we just need to find a good one. Anybody a church goer? That would really help because usually you or your parents would know the minister and could get easy consent by him. If not, we just need to go out and ask churches and hopefully they would let us and hopefully the price is cheap. I would say 10/hr is reasonable, but I might not even go for that much money there.

Another plan, PLEASE A HOUSE! If somebody doesn't mind and has a big enough house with no limit, that would be majorly cool. Nik's basment is good, but depends if his mom will let people come over from all around. The basement might not fit enough people (like over 10 though) so that wouldn't be too good if we are expected a lot of people. Anybody have cool enough teachers to ask? I know I do not, but thanks in advance for asking around though. We really need to get this off its feet, I can feel it coming, but WHEN is the thing.

Didnt Jeremy say before that he could hold any amount of people in March?

Does he still go on here?

If anyone sees him on msn or something ask him if he can host a ssbm tournament at his house..:D

If you guys wanna spread the word about this, u gotta make topics on G-faqs, Jarrods boards, and someone should make a fresh tournament topic for this on Smashboards too. Church sounds like a good idea, cuz ppl there are nice, and if someone has any connections, we could prolly get it for cheap, maybe even FREE :D. I don't think this would work at anyones house... we NEED a room with plenty free and open space with multiple outlets to plug in TV's, Cubes, etc.

Remember, figure out something in terms of hosting the tournament before you advertise too much. And be like 100% certain that u have a place b4 u get ppl flying in here from outside the city and stuff like that. The hardest part is finding a place to host a tournament. The rest usually follows smoothly with proper advertising, which I guess I could contribute to, I know alot of smashers, and we could round up quite a lot (30-60?) of people if we plan this right.

Finally... plan this well ahead... aim to host it maybe late july or early-mid August, this way we have PLENTY of time to get confirmations from people, cheaper flights for out of towners, and overall less stress due to time management.

If we all pitch in, we can make this work :)

This weekend... Saturday is my dad's birthday (YAYYYY) and Sunday is homework day. I can't make it, and I do not know what the other members of Kamikaze are doing, but most likely they would be busy this weekend.

Oh man, so far. Either way, provincials start for me on Monday, Tues, Wed, Thurs... I know I do not have enough time for fun. That's the sacrifice I have to take for education! I hope I do well, and I don't know if next week is a good time Eric, but we do have people who graduated who can most likely go.

Saturday sounds good for me. I have provincials too but I don't know the exact dates yet (even though I should :p). Besides, it's not like I'm gonna study until the later hours :D Anyone else think they can make it Saturday?

Oh yeah, Eric, it's that house on Gander right?

yeah it Gander. If you need the address or whatever just message me or Eric on msn or whatever. I've got a friend here in Richmond that is getting better at smash, I might have him over on that day too, he's learning how to use Samus, and I was only able to teach and show him so much. So Tiep, you for sure could give this guy a few tips and show him a few things ;)

Also, I'd like you all to know that SKYPAL is planning on hosting a tournament in the next while, I'm not sure of the exact date, but check out the SKYPAL thread and lets see if we can get at least 4 people to go to this from our smash community.

I'm aware that it's currently the "big push" for most of us in school, but in all honesty, I think you can all manage your time well enough to set aside one day for gaming. That includes YOU Troy :p

Anyways, for Saturday, I'm thinking people can come as early as 11 if they want, and stay as late as 6. We should definetly have a no-money tournament too. Also, I'm able to record vids so we can get some of our latest and up to date smash on the DC++ hub.

Another thing...

there may be a rumour going around about this guy named Carl from Edmonton 5 stocking my Falco in a 5 stock Falco ditto @ FD. I encourage you to ignore and disregard this rumour as it never happened and Carl is a non-existent person that someone made up.
There was no Falco ditto, there is no Carl, no FD, no 5 stock, you saw NOTHING!!!:grrr:

LoL Adam, Ouch. You (didn't) get 5-stocked :p I saw one of Carl's vids in the Falco forums. Dude, that guy is good. Coulda 4-stocked that FFox guy if he DI'd properly.

I'm hoping to make it to the SKYPAL get-together if my provincials are done. I'll be sure to get exact dates for my exams tomorrow. It may also be the last SKYPAL =\ They shoulda given it more publicity and I bet a lotta people woulda came.

And wow.. two Samus' in one region. What an oddity! I'll be sure to give your friend some pointers, that is if he isn't already better than me :p
Adam, I hope you haven't outgrown everyone here with your tourney experience ;) I'm looking forward to facing some Peaches too. I hope Wilf and/or Victa could make it. I finally found a way to fight Peaches on Corneria. I've seen it work, but I don't get any Peach practice so I don't know if I got it down properly. Still workin' on the counterpick stages. Expect some odd picks :)

I can play Samus too!!! I can also play Peach, so now I have more reason to play you Tiep. I think I can see what a certain strategy might be, but I am not totally sure (up+B on the fin). And weird counter pick stages such as... Mute City or Green Greens I can look forward too. Remember, we have a match between us that WILL happen, just not sure when...

Adam, tell your friend to check out videos like All Wessed Up and PureNastyness!

Heh, Its beeen a LONG time here on these boards...
Want to know why I'm never here?

1. I have homework and stuff, just because we're all rushing due to the Provincials (i'm in grade 10.)
2. I've been out mostly with my GF doing... stuff, you know >_>
3. Even though I'm on MSN (to Eric), Its probably an 85% chance that I'm AFK.
4. I'm "Training" some of my guys (I think...5?) to become crazy smash players.
5. I'm still smashing, and developing more of my technical skill in Training, and less on VS. mode. (I think I'm becoming like Darius now, where I can read my opponment haha)
6. I'm trying to start up this "Video Games Club" at my school, where we all play Video Games during Lunch for 50 cents. Gonnna own them in smash haha. Also, i'll get a chance to train them too lol

Lately, I haven't had enough competition lately...I guess we're all busy... but i'm still willing to give it a go guys...

Adam: I want that FALCO DITTO
Eric: I'm willing to rematch you again ^-^, its been a long time since the horrible 2 buck tourney and You barely won...
Patooty: Haha My Falco Is getting fast. Really fast. Its getting soo fast I'm making a lot of SD's lately...call it a "Nick" XD
LET ME play against you, man
Victa: Good games man, LET ME VS. your Peach! You never play Peach against me! Give me a challenge, man lol
Darius: Ok, You should see my DK...he's a Nightmare now lol XD

lol, yeah really. Anyways, I'm getting some decent local players comin over. So hopefully ALL of you can make it here for some **** good smashing. We also need to discuss who plans on attending the SKYPAL tourney on June 18th. I know I'm definetly interested in going, and if Wilfred goes that already gives us a means of transporting 4 MORE people to the tourney automatically (Right Wilfred :D ;) ).

OMG I am really sorry guys, but I have plans... I usually do something on weekends, and we plan ahead because I do not go out on weekdays, so weekends are my only free time to hang out with the guys. Sorry if I have been letting people down, I know, the more the merrier :) I'll try to make it if I have enough time, but this weekend no, and going all the way to Richmond is usually pretty long and hard to get there, sorry again.

If I can get a ride, then I might be able to go to the SKYPAL. I mean, I'm interested, I just gotta get it cleared with the parents. BTW, any clue as to how long we'd be staying there?

PS. If people are planning to go to Adam's house on Saturday but don't have a way to get there, I may be able to drive you there.

8 days left until June 18th! If we're planning on having anybody at the SKYPAL at all then we better start planning and getting the details out of the way, like the driver, and the times we're leaving and staying there. SKYPALers say housing is no problem, but we should still arrange something with them rather than just dropping in and expecting open houses. Also gotta see if we're gonna bring any cubes to the event, and see who's actually interested (and can) go

It seems like this SKYPAL is quite big so it'll be pretty awesome to attend it. My exams don't start until the 22nd, so I can probably make it to this thing. Also, Adam, are you talking to Wilfred? Update us on whether he's gonna go (and drive :p) or not when you get the chance.

I'm still looking forward to the Sunday Smashfest too. Hopefully people other than myself and Nick will drop in :)
