Akuma actually still has 4.0U if his posts in the other thread are correct.

No Wiis have been auto-updated.
Yes they're correct, I apparently still have Wii Menu 4.0U, but this code's ability to work randomly vanished when I turned my wii on this morning after the blue light was flashing, maybe only 1 or 2 files were added or removed from the wiiconnect24 autoupdater

sorry i shoulda been more specific, you take out the sd card b4 u select ur player dens u put it bak in, magic non hacker easy
this is exactly what ive always done ever since before this code was released, its funny how people are cracking their heads, for those who dont know it, the custom texture is still loaded and so is music

Did you try re-adding the code?
I did before and Brawl+ wouldn't load, but it's weird, I just tried it again, and it worked... this code has some very strange requirments, such as not going into training mode

You know what i think it is? I don't think you can have your wii mote on when you use the button activation, I turned it off this time and it worked, maybe because the wiimote reads player 1 even though on brawl it reads player 4, maybe that screws something up

Anyways I'll do more testing later, got kenpo then to the gym, I'll probably be up late anyways, no classes tomorrow

Well you can still do that, just now with more options so there's less trips to the computer. Plus this way seems safer than pulling out the SD card while the game's on.

I can't get this to work for 3 characters, this is such a pain to figure out what's wrong.

I'm trying to add a DK PSA in another folder, this folder is km, and DK is activated by Y+A, on a wireless controller(I tried both but no cigar) so can someone tell me if this is right?

km is translated as 6b6d but your supposed to change the letters to capital, when I did it for lm they came up lower case too, but I copied Almas' example which was in capital and it works for Marth and Link in the lm folder I have

EDIT: Another thing I noticed, on Roy when I use this code, his B moves don't have the momentum changes and lag time changes they normally do when I load him through the pf folder... I don;t think I shall use this code much longer

I also have the same problem getting more than one folder working. I'm still trying to get more than one stage texture for one stage. Here is what I currently have:

I switched the order of the code to see if both the folder and the command I used for the second code block were legit, and they are. The code seems to only acknowledge one folder, the first one in the coding.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if someone can help me? I can only get one alternate file to load, holding down A works, but no other combination does. I'm using this code:

I'm trying to use three different Sonic movesets, but only the one with A as the button activator will work. Now I'm using a wired GC controller and I have three different folders set up for alternate file loading (lm, os and so each with a different move set in it) as RSBE/os/ fighter/sonic and still no joy! Please help! Thanks in advance. :)

Oh and while I remember, I still have my pf folder with all of my usual textures, music, etc in it and they're working fine, it's just the alternate folders that are giving me a headache. Thanks again!

1. Yes that has already been observed. Player 1 controls which clone can be selected for everyone and only the same one clone at a time per character, per player can be used

2. That's actually a good point... mind you I've not tested Mario yet, as I'm still having trouble with the code myself (see above post).

so player 1 would hold the button down while the other ppl selected their characters? or what?

and im going to work on a code that includes all characters kinda...so you just have to put files inthe alt folder and everything will be pre made.

Clone Engine Code Maker

Just so everyone knows, i am currently working on a Code Generator for this code, it will allow you to select the characters you want to use, if you want stages, etc...

It will be easy to use and should be released within the next day or two!

Also, can you only use .pac files? or can you use .pcs? :confused:

Both.

.pac files are necessary for PSA characters and textures for transforming characters (e.g. Shiek/Zelda). There is no way to use the .pcs format for these functions.

.pcs is, among other things, a format used for character textures (in addition to .pac, if the character transforms).

This code can load .pcs and .pac from alternate folders.

The reason I ask is because I have custom movesets and when i use this code, and hold the button, they go away (as expected), but my custom textures do not load...

i made this so you hold down Z&A to load the cahracter files from a folder called "af"
i basicly copied over the origional fighter folder into " af " and added roy and whoever else i wanted.

im not sure if i did it right for multiple characters...did i?

I finally managed to get the code working fine, on a basic level, but I have a few questions.


1. Whenever I use an alternate moveset, can I load a texture from /pf/? Or do I need to put a copy of every texture I want to use in /lm/? I can't seem to load one either way, but it might be a BYTECOUN issue.

2. If I have a texture and a moveset in a folder, say Mewcario and his texture, should my BYTECOUN be 00000010 or 00000020?

3. Similar situation, one character has a texture and a moveset. Would I need to copy the XXXX... code block twice? To put it another way, would my Alternate File Data code block be three or five lines long?

4. What steps would I need to follow to get players 2, 3, or 4 to use an alternate?

5. You say that the BYTECOUN needs to be 10x a number, but if it's above 9 remember to use hex. Are wil still multiplying 10? Like, if I had 15 additions, would I enter the Hex value for 15 or 150?

1. Yes, you would need to copy the textures you want to use into the clone's folder.

2. 00000010, the byte count should be for the amount of clone characters, not the amount of files for the clones.

3. Nope. One code block should take care of both the moveset and the textures, so your code would be 3 lines long.

4. I think they all need to be activated on P1's controller. Since I only have one Gamecube controller, I can't verify that statement. For all I know, any GC controller should work with the button combination.

5. Count in hexidecimal. 1 = 1, 9 = 9, 10 = A, 16 = 10, etc. If you're using Windows, open up Calculator (make sure it's in Scientific mode, with the "Dec" radio button activated), type in the number and click on the "Hex" radio button.

(EDIT: Why did I say "10" for "1"?)

Can someone else test the Classic Controller version of the code and tell me if it works for them? I've been trying it, but it doesn't seem to work for me. I'm unsure if it's simply an error on my part of if it actually doesn't work.

Can anyone think of any reason this only works on the first character I pick in a game? I can get the alt character to work only once, if I try to pick one next round, the entire code breaks and I can't use an alts at all until I reboot.

I heard it is possible to store two alternate characters in different folders and be able to select them both. (Not at the same time, I know.) But I can't make it work. I use a button activator of L+A for the lm folder and R+A for the ln folder which translate to the following 2 code blocks.

I know my bytecount is correct, it is 0000 0070 since I have 7 blocks of code.
Am I doing something wrong? Only the first character will load. When I try to load with R+A it just loads the one in the pf folder.

I can't get the code to work with brawl+, code dump error keeps popping up, and I put in the Code exactly how you said.

10 x 17 = 170.
put in 170 in windows calculator while Dec is marked on, and then mark Hex. You will see that the hex for 10 times 17 is AA

Meh, i think i can't do this code because i got a PAL wii. It's so annoying meh. But yeah i'd rsther wait until the real Clone Engine is coming out, because this seems to be just a test or something like that. It's still developing. I really want to see that you can create new spots and all. If i remember correctly, i heard Phantom Wings was working on a Clone Engine, and we all know how much Phantom Wings suprises us =O. We'll just wait and see...

Is anyone able to have 2 clones from the same base? I mean, 2 loadable characters, not a once. I know that is impossible. I can't make it work. Is there some kind of different thing i need to do than change the button activator and the folder name?

Yes, change the folder name and the button activator. You cannot use both characters at once, however.
