imma watch this in depth later. I have a pretty good idea of what I did wrong/what I need to work on but feedback from you guys would be neato. I still need to lock down my tech skill.

also ignore the 2nd game loolll >_______________>

Another set - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3UPV3zRlSc I definitely suffered from tech problems much more in this set. gotta work on those followups out of uthrow, and practice cg's too...and stop getting so predictable with grabs =_=

another set coming later updated

EDIT:
[collapse="vs ♥"]0:13 - do run off gimp attempt after bthrow
0:17 - supposed to be a nair
0:21 - supposed to be a usmash
0:23 - supposed to turnaround jolt (bad decision either way)
0:34 - dangerous
0:47 - follow up
0:54 - supposed to turnaround
1:11 - just go for the edge
1:20 - just run after peach, jolt unecessary
1:23 - pay attention to peach <_<
1:25 - peach's dair, lesson learned
1:31 - pay attention to peach <_<
1:44 - don't uair through plat unless 1st hitbox, lesson learned
1:51 - stupid <_<
2:16 - save jump, side+B first
2:22 - uair spike
2:24 - fairly sure this is an accident
2:33 - wd grab
2:44 - don't uair low% unless 1st hitbox (bad spacing in this case)
3:05 - wd grab
3:16 - did you really think uair would outprioritize dsmash =_= come on now
3:18 - 3:24 o_O
3:45 - do run off gimp attempt after bthrow
3:56 - supposed to be usmash
4:09 - uair punish right after dsmash
4:29 - stop getting impatient in tourney

peach using shield after missed punishes on my shield means I should grab! keep eye out for this
usmash attempts on floating peach is not recommended unless you read her approach
go for gimps, punishing/edgeguarding low% pika is hard. low risk high reward. don't need falco's 'stay alive' mindset as pika
approach/nair more, leads into stuff and leaves you pretty unpunished. peach can usually only get away with 1 dsmash hit or grab, small combo at best
try to predict what peach does after whiffing fc aerials[/collapse]
[collapse="vs Bones"]Didn't do anything about spotdodge after shffl whiffs. Wait outside shine range to pick up on whiff reaction. Dsmash if spotdodge, grab if shield, try to edge your way in if shine/shffl in place/walling pressure.
Followups could be way better, so many missed gimps. Practice pika more instead of random secondaries -_-
Don't rely on gimps to the point of ridiculous obviousness. Put in some stagework, experiment with aggro.
Tech mistakes make me facepalm really hard...practice pika more instead of random secondaries -_-[/collapse]
EDIT:
no critique? <.<

Finally actually recorded with Odin.

Skip to 1:49:45 for me against Odin's Captain Falcon and then I'm also in the next game against RUN's Ness.

In the first game apparently it's a modded Pokemon Stadium that doesn't actually stage change.

Other games:

2:55:30, 3:25:15 against Marth
3:04:15 against Roy
3:16:35 against Mario

DKUO-I see your problem, your pikachu is naked, anyways (just watched first match) technically your fairly on spot, I just saw a bit of consistency with your pika that i saw the peach caught on with. That was mainly a know your matchup loss imo >:3 so I think more practice against peach and finding out what doesn't get you caught in da ghey dsmash. I also saw you uairing at lower % a bit against the peach, which inevitably lead to her spinning doom. My suggestion, try your nair dair ftilt**** and combos not including uair at low % against ghey floaties like those, nair->usmash works well but you don't need to know that >:3 Spacing was also a small issue in that match :] Sorry I'm not that super detail critique XD

Rainbow- XD I love friendlies like those, where **** goes all wrong alot, anyways >:3 I think you just need to play more Pikachu and learn his ins and outs more. My suggestion, do the camera mode glitch and play alone in your room practicing pure tech skills with chu-ster on battlefield or FD.

Dayyyyyyyyyum

I love how well he uses retreating ftilt/fsmash, almost makes him look like a mini-Marth. The amount of times he uses run > wd back is pretty funny though :awesome:

Great stuff Axe, game 2 against eclipsing binary was fun to watch and your set against rookie was like O_O. One thing I noticed though is that, especially against Binary, you would often run around him before punishing him with upsmashes. Is that just because you like to run around a lot for funsies, or is it to screw up his DI?

Mostly just because I can lol :p It looks way cooler haha.

But sometimes it messes with their DI which is really good

people tend to react with something when you change position which typically becomes usmash-punishable, running around a shield can poke more easily since they're prone to tilting towards your initial position, pivot usmash gives you a precise hitbox without jc/walk momentum, etc.

unless what you meant is hitting them out of the air/combos or something <_< in which case i misread what you were saying and its mostly just DI lol

I was talking about instances when binary had just up+B'd on to stage and couldn't move and axe would run around a bit to delay the up smash that binary was incapable of stopping. I suppose I should've been more specific

Sooo, I'd like to post up some of my matches for critique. But they're on a twitch stream. Anybody willing to help me out if I grab the exact times and such? I'll give them treats and goodies. <3

So here's all my matches in it in order. Thankfully, my streamer uploaded majority of the session to youtube. <3 Props to Yiffz the Yoshi :yoshi64:

I'd greatly appreciate input from any and all people willing to critique, excuse the first match or two. I was drunk for...probably the whole session and the next morning so I had to adjust a bit lol. No johns though, love these guys. Lastly, apologies for the sound quality at least. Volume down suggested~

Bonus goodies and treats to critiquers, and don't feel obligated to watch em all. Thanks. :drohyou:

You seemed to rely a lot on your shield and downdodging, especially against LoZR (who caught on to it a lot). Pikachu has a lot of mobility, so you're often better off dashing away (or even rolling away occasionally) if you're under pressure. Shield is necessary at times, yes, but it really limits you if you rely on it as much as avoiding via dashing or jumping.

You also messed up some recoveries, which happens.

Otherwise I liked a lot of what you did. Your offense seems pretty good and I didn't really see any major bad habits with it. I think using ftilts more (especially against G&W) for edgeguarding would have helped, but you did have some good ones. Also don't be afraid to chase people off the edge during edgeguards. It can be kind of awkward against G&W, but against Falco and Marth their recoveries are soooomewhat limited and hitting them while they're off the stage should result in their death.

You use fsmash more than most people. I personally like it more than I should as well (especially against Marth, and G&W to an extent). Just recognize that it's risky, and you almost always have a better option when edgeguarding.

I noticed as well, I have a bit of a shielding habit. Usually when I can't predict their approach well it seemed. Of course getting trapped in Pika's poor shield is never really good for long.

The recoveries, hehe. Yeah, I SD/error a loooottt under pressure for now. I'm working on them slowly.

Going offstage seems to be a struggle for me as well as you said, I think it may be from me maining Falco for years before Pika in early '12 or so. I can't quite read the recoveries too well yet outside of Marth and similars, and often fear to trade. I'll work on that. o:

Risky ol' Fsmash, I like it too. I'm not sure why, but I'll also work on alternatives for it as I could obviously do a lot more with Pika's speed. :p

Thanks a lot, N64~ Very much appreciated. :pikachu64:

Hey D. Disciple!

Main things i noticed:
You seemed to be playing a little nervous in both sets. I don't know if that's how you normally play, you just seemed a little frantic with some of your decisions/actions.
In your matches vs. RRR you got grabbed a lot. You did well to escape many of them (i don't know why he went for so many fthrow/bthrows), but i feel like if he had dthrown->techchased more often you could have been in trouble. Usmash is indeed good against kirby, but it's easy enough for him to shield->wdgrab you through it. I would have liked to see you rely more on nair in that matchup to rack up damage, or tilt instead of usmash at lower percents.
Against Zelgadis you seemed more comfortable with the matchup, and I liked a lot of what you went for (even if it didn't always connect). I did notice your habit of teching away almost every time, for which I expected him punish you more. I would have also liked to see some attempted smashDI out of uairs, once he got away with a few of them he began going to uair more often. Otherwise you seemed to have a pretty good grasp on the match and I think with a little more precision you could have taken the set from him.

Anyone good vs Marth wanna speak on neutral vs him? Dealing with his DD, dtilt, grab range, and situational aerials kinda suck with your small pika moves

Should I be approaching this similar to how Fox approaches neutral vs Marth?
