Well I looked at the video, and I have to say I'm not convinced at all that planking is not a problem on that stage. What I mostly saw was Marth using Upb to different edges, not varying the timing or varying what he does, and STILL giving the opponent a lot of trouble. Not to mention that the get up solution is fine, until you screw up on the timing, get up too late, and they jump off and get a free hit or two before planking again.

Whats wrong with pictochat? The stage hazards aren't comparable to the klaptrap. With DI you can easily avoid being hit into them. (even in that video the shiek DI'd down to avoid the piranha plant) The stage doesn't give any characters stronger advantages than they would have on any other flat stage (fd/smashville).
Your right the stage hazards aren't comparable to the klaptrap because they are WORSE. you can simply grab someone and throw them into the hazards.....this rarely happens on any legal stages except maybe halberd every once in a while. Not to mention te stage has stupid transformations and players will just wait it out like they do on PS1. Then you have stupid things like random wind, the spring stuff, and random bullets, trees, fireballs and whatever else is there.
On Japes the layout of the stage stays the same for the most part. If your character struggles in the water you stay on the right side of the stage. If the character opposing you is Falco you ban the stage. If you can't kill someone till 200% you start using your horizontal KO moves.
Arguing for Pictochat over Japes makes no sense at all.

You can just DI a throw into the hazards there. All the hazards follow set patterns, and you have a full second+ to see them being drawn before they even hurt you. If you do make a mistake and get hit (because if your getting hit then you are making a mistake) the cost of it isn't a full stock its anywhere from 1% to 25ish.
Saying you should just ban japes vs falco isn't an arguement. Corneria is banned solely because of DDD. They don't just say ban it against DDD and make it legal.
Do you think ps1 should be banned? It spends a lot time on parts that force camping than pictochat. I can only think of 3 portions that cause camping like that. (the stack of blocks, the whale, and the boat). Theres 17 different transformations. 3/17. The drawlings last 12 seconds. Thats 36 seconds of camping maximun in an 8 minute game.

Whoever gets the lead first wins the match in that game. Playing against any character that has a wall infinite. It is so ****ing stupid.
It is nearly impossible to win after getting hit on that stage. You have no possible way to safely approach your opponent down there.

25% for a stage hazard is pretty ridiculous, that's like a 1/4th of a stock for some characters.
You didn't really refute anything I said about japes being a better stage but instead brought up Corneria. Corneria is banned because it has incredibly small blastzones, it's planking heaven, wall infinites, all sorts of dumb things.
Japes IMO is worse than Pictochat. Japes strongly encourages timing out the clock based on the stage layout, the ceiling, and the water. There are certain characters on Japes that become, frankly, ******** against most of the cast (MK and Wario for example obtain a huge advantage on it against just about everyone, and MK if he decides to time someone out is technically unstoppable here). Even with a conservative edge grab limit of 30 grabs, MK has the tools necessary to time someone out here based on how the water works sadly.

if stages were banned solely due to one character dominating at it then rainbow cruise would have been banned long ago. Everyone knows mk+rainbow cruise=YOU LOSE!! Banning japes due to dominant characters is ridiculous.

RJ, we have utah rules that we have to obey by. just because you host, doesn't mean you can change the rules. we've had this discussion a ton of times on the utah boards xD
