Although this question must have been asked a lot of times over the pages... I can't find it.

Is there a limit to the amount of textures you can start at once. (Say, i have one texture for every unit and stage) Will it still load? (Don't go ****ting with "test it yourself please, no wii at the ready" ;) )

So... is there a limit? ;o
No. You should be fine.

Is there anyway to change the color of Lucario's aura? I made my first texture and I wanted to change it but I'm not sure where to look.

About half of my stage texture hacks work and the other half doesn't. I've switched them around a few times and I honestly don't think that so many texture hacks could be broken. I'm not really sure what the problem is so that's why I'm here :p

I also have a problem with custom music. All of my songs prior to inserting the folder were 'Battlefield'. I assumed this was normal since I was new to all this but when I finally downloaded all the music and put it into the appropriate directory, all of my songs were still Battlefield. Does anyone else have this problem and does anyone have an idea on how to solve it?

Help would be appreciated.

note:
I am also sure that all my folders were done correctly.

Hello, I just got Brawl+ yesterday and it was working great! However then I tried putting textures in and it all went to hell. At first none of the textures worked, but then even Brawl+ stopped working. I've tried deleting the brawl+ files from my sd card, and then re-installing them, but it still isn't working. I've had a bit of difficulty following this guide because some of the stuff was done directly out of the download , and others weren't. For example, all the character folders were there (with some random files), but the huge .txt code wasn't. So all in all I'm wondering if I should delete the files in the character folder (ie. FitIke.pcs) and replace them with mine, because I tried that and nothing happened until I took it all out and it went back to regular brawl. I also tried downloading a premade texture pack, but that hasn't helped either, in fact it stopped brawl+ from working. Can you guys point out anything I'm doing wrong? Would screenshots of my folders help? I'm going to delete evertything off my sd card and work up from the bottom for starters.

Thanks, EternityEight

You need to create a folder named gkoopa inside the fighter folder. That's where you place your Giga Bowser hack.

On a side note, the texture has to be called FitGKoopa00, since Giga Bowser only has one color slot.

Hey, about a week ago I was on brawlvault for the first time, and I got a virus. Now I don't know if it was from the site, mediafire, or just unlucky somehow, but the last thing I'd want to do is infect my computer again right after my dad just fixed it for me. So what it the risk in brawlvault and viruses?

Absolutely no risk whatsoever. Virues can come from anywhere and everywhere, but most sites are harmless unless they're obviously dodgy sites. Think porn sites with excessive popups, Smiley Central or similar (installing random toolbars is a no-no), Galbadia Hotel during their "we really have no money this time" phase and anything most major browsers and virus scanners detect as unsafe.

Also, it helps if you don't use Internet Explorer, or at least upgrade it to the latest version.

Does anyone have an answer to my question? Post #2007
I had a similar problem when I started doing this probably a little over a year ago. I originally had Brawl+ and then when I went to add these texture hacks I started having complications and eventually whatever I did (I honestly can't remember) ended up getting rid of Brawl+ but all my texture hacks work now. I recommend just getting rid of Brawl+ and seeing if that works. I'd rather have the hacks anyway.

Okay now I have a question. Are there any good guides out there for how to actually MAKE texture hacks? Like edit character and stage models and all that? I have no idea how to do this but I'd like to learn how.

I read somewhere that you can use a USB drive over an SD card for all of your hacking needs. Is this true?

If not will any 2GB SD card work?

Yeah, Riivolution can patch from USB too, and the HBC can load apps from it, so it's all you'll need if you already have HBC installed.

Otherwise, yeah, as long as it's not SDHC (which is above 2GB) then it will work in Brawl. You can also do the Gecko/File Patch Code method using SD

None of my Bowser textures are working. I have the folder named koopa and the textures are all named FitKoopa(number)(number).pcs. I've tried renaming the folder, retyping the name, deleting the folder and creating a new one, and anything else i can think of. All the other textures i have for other characters work fine.

Any help to get the bowser textures working?

Bowser is a transforming character since Giga counts as a seperate character, so you need the PAC files for him too. All transforming characters (Bowser, Giga, Wario, Warioman, Samus, Zamus, Zelda, Shiek and Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon) are like that

Yo, why do you not have the music codes listed? Kinda hard to put new music on if I don't know which songs I am replacing.

I was trying to add more textures and I kept getting "Too many lines of code, 2209 found, 4-something allowed"

I cleared the entire SD card except for

apps - gecko, riivolution, homebrew browser
codes - RSBE01.gct
private - wii/app/RSBE/pf/stage/melee/

And then all the stage files are in "melee"

Still doesn't work, does anyone know what's wrong?

It sounds like an issue with your GCT. check your cheat codes. I don't know why it would just randomly happen though. Did you change something in Gecko OS?

I updated my Wii to 4.3 by accident, and now Gecko won't work.

Will Riivolution work with Menu 4.3?

You need to install the homebrew channel using smash stack. You can find instructions on how to do that elsewhere.

Worth noting, homebrew hacking is not an entirely easy process. If you are bad at learning things, it is a good idea to not bother.

If you JUST want to run USB gecko and texture hacks, install a "hackless version" of Brawl-, and delete the moveset files under the fighter folders.

You rename the second file from sc_selchara_darkblue.pac to sc_selchara.pac, then you make a folder in RSBP/RSBE called pfmenu2 (it's a bug with the code) and place them in there. If you're using Riivolution, make a folder in pf called menu2 and put the files in there.

In terms of crashing, it depends what country you're from, and thus, what version of Brawl you have. That kind of thing doesn't work so well in PAL from what I've heard (I haven't actually tried the CSS, but I know the regular menu works). It also depends on whether you're using the File Code or Riivolution.

I'm too old for this...

@Evilagram: My mistake on common5.pac, but are you sure about sc_selchara? I thought it was affected by the same bug as the main menu file where it has to be put in pfmenu2 instead. Unlike the other two files, I know this is a fact because that's where mine and everyone else's menu themes are.

Not sure. Only pretty sure.

I'd have to pull out my SD card to be sure and I am too lazy for that.

Try both, see what happens.
