So, check this out. FC canceled?!?!? That sucks.


But Florida is stepping up and hosting a 4 day tournament in July. Melee Singles/Doubles AND Brawl Singles/Doubles. Crews for both games as well.

I already called first dibs on housing for Texas smashers. Florida is close enough so that we could carpool :). (Several cars of course)


This tournament looks to be huge though. Florida alone has been getting 200 person brawl tournaments. Imagine how big this one will be. They hope to hit the 500 mark. We should show our support for tournaments like this and have the majority of texas smashers show up.

Who is intrested in carpooling and such?

wow, I didnt realize the Florida community was so big. Its no small commitment though. I will strongly consider it.

You mean the one that was up for like a week while this has been up for 4 hours?

Also NM has it's own thread, Texas is too big for just one thread (it's been attempted before).

So to get people to actually pay attention to something like this it needs its own thread.

Hmm whoever the director is sucks at math. Its $80 if you pay for everything seperately.

Reasons not to go:

1. If soo many people are expected to show why is it so expensive. I'd like to see $10 singles and $20 teams. If not for the whole tournament at least an OOS discount or something.

2. The stage bans for Brawl are COMPLETELY ridiculous. Half of those stages are perfectly fine as counterpicks.

3. I actually have a job so monday is out of the question which leaves out the one tournament I would probably participate in.

I'll have to practice 'em though, playing brawl has gotten my melee game kinda rusty.

Melee is still really fun...I just prefer playing a game where my character doesn't like auto-lose 75% of his matchups :(

Alright, you struck me. I might already be in Florida, but I want to hang out with 7734 and the lot some bits of time. Don't take my exact promise yet, but let me look into things and I might be able to have like 2 or 3 with me. No pitching for gas, just make sure you bring money. No moochers.

Oh, and about m2k. He's going down. Teach him to play for money....

and making 250 is more important than spending it.
