Mission Statement
This thread is dedicated to the discussion of two crews in Texas. The purpose of these crews is to promote travel and increase competition in Texas without adherently promoting pointless drama that is often associated with the seperation of any group of competitors. I hope to give people more to work for and provide more entertainment at tournaments to keep people coming back. Hopefully, this will increase tournament attendance all over texas as well as the overall skill level. If you want a spot on one of the crews, you're going to have to be good.
How the crews will function
Both crews will consist of 10 players each with 5 alternates if available. The crews will have one captain and that person will decide who is on the crew, who goes first, etc. They will have the final say for everything though it is recommended for them to discuss everything with their respective crews. The NT and ST crews will be composed of various players from cities in the North and South parts of Texas. You can find which cities will be available for the captains to choose players from in the second post of this thread. The crews can and will fluctuated between each tournament they are at at the captains disgression. There will also be a Co-Captian assigned to take the place of the Captain if he is not present. The captain may also let the co-captain take over if they want. If neither the Captains or the CoCaptains are present at a tournament then the crew battles will not take place.
The amount of wins either crew has over each other will be kept track of in the second post as well as the current roster.
Rules
The full ruleset for these crew battles is pending but it will be SBR certified with maybe a few minor alterations to adhere to the crew battle setting.
How crew battles work
Both captains will write down their crew roster on a piece of paper. They must put the players character beside their names as well as who will be sent out first.
If you are being sent out against someone or first then you must play the character listed by your name. If you win and the person the opposing crew sends out against you decides to counterpick a stage then you are allowed to change characters. If they decide to not counterpick a stage and do stage striking instead then you must stay your current character.
Stocks must be divided evenly. Each crew will have 30 stocks.
Once your crew is out of stocks, you lose. Simple as that.
Closing Statement
I did not think of all of this by myself. This idea was sparked from others so I thank them even if this isn't what they intended to happen. I look forward to these crew battles and I hope the rest of you do as well in good spirits. If you oppose any of this then that is fine. Please be civil though. I would like to give thanks to all the tournament hosts in Texas. I know how hard it can be to run a good tournament. We need more of you and appriciate everything you are doing for our smash scene. Keep it up.
