I'm just hoping to get brackets started in like a week.

But I still don't have a replacement for Fayte Isaac.

Edit--Campus Internet needs to stop living next to Bionic.

i don't know how score works at all in this game. i don't even know how battle works in regards to sending garbage to the opponent.

not entirely sure how score works, but pretty sure a tspin/tetris setup is the most efficient and reliable way to score big on marathon

for battle, this is how it goes i think:
double - 1 line
triple - 2 lines
tetris - 4 lines
tspin single - 2 lines
tspin double - 4 lines
tspin triple - 5 lines
perfect clear - 10 lines
combos - 0,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,4,4...
0 being the first line/set of lines you clear

im not positive, some of the numbers may be off and i may be forgetting some other ways to send lines

T-spin Triple is 6 lines.

Doing Tetris/T-spins back-to-back results in an additional line being sent, or 1.5x the lines on the second one, depending on implementation. Not sure which one TFA uses.

T-spin mini single sends 1 line.

I think those are the right numbers for combos, but that seems really high looking at it like that o.o Combos are broken though, so it's probably right xP

i might be able to stay in... i was cleaning out some **** in my room and i found a letter reminding me i have Jury Duty on Wednesday im not gonna be able to go work wit mah dad (poor wallet)... so i SHOULD be able to continue playing

B2b bonuses is an extra line if i remember right

also, the combo numbers are staggered with an extra zero in the beginning? 0,0,1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5 etc. , and the combo numbers are in addition to whatever else you send normally

time was always my thing, it got boring playing for score since there is a maxing tactic that you can use to always get the most points (combo up to 1 line before the next level, then t-spin to next level, or if you don't have the patience of a goddamn rock t-spin double stack patterns outscore pure b2b tetrises). the faster i went, the better it felt.

yeah the single-single line combo strat felt gimmicky (optimal strategy is combo until 9 remaining, then tetris > b2b tsd btw) and got really boring. i got good enough at it to break 900k, then basically never played it again =x

in battle 2p
the lines sent for combos go,
0,1,2,4,6,9,12,16,20,24 etc.
clearing a single line will send 0 lines
a single combo (two single line clears) sends 1 line
a double combo (three single lines cleared) sends 1+1 = 2 lines
etc.

combos become ridiculously efficient as you send 4 garbage/line after only an 8 combo

tspin minis (tspin clearing 0 lines) send 0 lines and b2b also send 0 lines
tspin singles send 2 lines and 3 for each b2b
tetrises send 4 lines, then 6 more for each b2b
tspin doubles seem to operate the same way as tetrises
tspin triples send 6 lines and then 9 lines for b2b

tblock was right about the 1.5X bonus

again this is for tf battle 2p. the rules are similar for arena but maybe not exactly the same


also i am contacting a swf friend about playing if someone indeed drops out
just in case

It's probably nerfed for TFA... since it's real time, it's less swingy if the lines sent isn't quite that high.

I'm actually pretty sure that the b2b bonus is just one line... B2B TST is one of my openings, and there's no way it sends 15 lines... 13 sounds much more reasonable.

I think kirby is right about combos starting at 3-ren instead of 2-ren. You're the combo guy... shouldn't you know? =P

i tested all of these on battle 2p before i posted them
just tested b2b tst and got 13, the b2b is different in arena, you guys were right
tested combos and you guys are right, that's how it works for arena
tspin minis (even b2b) still send nothing

Fayte Isaac, I highly encourage you to finish your set with Ulises, thus wrapping up your preliminaries, and then Radium can take your bracket spot. Radium said he doesn't mind what seed he ends up as, because he's that cool of a person.
