Ok, the whole "Proomers are terrible and Broomers are the only cool people on the planet" sense of thinking seriously needs to stop.

Firstly, the term "Proomer" is just stupid. This is a public forum, and the Pool Room is a room for general discussion that is open to all members. Giving members who post here a name like you belong to some elite (or not so elite) group is lame. By that logic, probably at least 50% of members are "Proomers", with the potential for 100% of members to become "Proomers", since the only requirement is posting in the Pool Room, or at least posting regularly.

Next, saying that Proomers are stupid is equally stupid. Sure, there are a few members who may be stupid, or act irresponsibly from time to time, but that doesn't mean that posting in the Pool Room makes you a dirty spammer or something. The fact that the Broom exists, consisting of "superior" members, should not denote that everybody else is lesser. Broomers are actually just like everybody else, and still belong to the same forum, even if they don't post everywhere else as much as other members.

My point is, if you READ THE RULES, and follow them, you won't have any problems. The whole bad reputation has been given by people who are immature and break the rules regularly. That happens in all areas of the forum, and should not affect the reputations of the well-behaved members. The cheif difference between the Broom and Proom is that pretty much all of the Broomers are mature and do not spam constantly, and is closed off to the public, meaning spammers do not have access. The Pool Room is accessible to all members, including the bad ones. This should not automatically mean that all "Proomers" or non-Broomers are bad, so stop thinking like that. This goes for all members, including Broomers.

I never think like that when I label myself as a PRoomer. The term "PRoomer" to me simply means a frequent member of the Pool Room. I don't think Dibs, dr.neo, or commonyoshi are all that bad and they are what you would call, PRoomers. In fact, I love reading their posts because I think they are all very witty (yes, even common).

And I refuse to label BRoomers as superior to me. Big whoop, your name is in green and your in a secret room. This is the INTERNET. Superiority on the internet doesn't exist. It is just more likely that a BRoomer may be witty and funny (though not all of them are). I used to love reading KaoS posts before he went inactive.

The Back room is for respected members on the boards. You obviously need to have the right characteristics to get in. But what you find as a great characteristic might not be so great to someone like scav or hiemie. I guess you have to impress who really counts in order to get broomed. You may be the most popular pool roomer to the other pool roomers but then maybe your not liked by the broomers. However it works out I think that some people just may never get in. You may have an incredibly awesome sense of humor. If scav and hiemie don't think its funny then it doesnt matter. I think about Family Guy in this situation. I think its insanely funny but others will not. I'm going to watch it and the people who dont like it are not. I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say because I've never been good at describing what I'm trying to say. Well I guess I'll cut this pointless post to an end.

I too was not insta-Broom material when I joined and I didn't try to be. It just happened, kind of like puberty. One day your legs are silky smooth on their own and the next you're hairier than Monkey Christ and you have to start shaving them all the time! Are you willing to shave them legs? But that's not all it takes! You can't shave what isn't hairy. Remember that and you'll go far.

I think being a temporary broomer is just ridiculous. I agree with whoever said that the broom was a tight knit community, and I could understand there selectiveness when they broom people. Being a temporary broomer would just mess up the back room; topics would be leaked all over the forum easily. Besides, it's not that big a deal that there is a broom, it's just one extra subforum.
