'When should we call the police and tell them you've gone missing?'

If someone produces a Hacked version of Brawl that allows Wavedashing and L-cancelling maybe we should have a tourney for it one day just for lols

There's still no L-cancelling right now, but it's not needed as much in brawl is it was in Melee anyway.

Wavedash currently doesn't work for ROB... he freezes the game. :(
Only the first Pokemon PT uses has Melee airdodging too... similar stuff happens when zelda/Sheik tranforms.

Why do people say "wavedashing and L-cancelling"

It just supports the standard just-jumped-onto-the-bandwagon Brawl player view that they're the only two advanced techs in Melee and the only reason we like the game better.

Clearly, Luigi's as usual.

ICs would have had a really good one too, but the partner IC ****s it up by not wavedashing also.

Ness and Lucas have a fairly decent one as well because the unique arc of their second jump affects the length of the wavedash.

Olimar's is on par with most other characters, but he can desynch his upsmash doing so, not having to be anywhere near the pikmin to do it.

Lucas, Samus, Link and Toon Link can cancel the fall animation after airdodging by zairing immediately.

Pretty much all the good info I dug up to far. Other characters have some small improvements too, but not really as good.

EDIT: WD bowserciding is too broken.

FYI, I played Melee enough to know most of what made it a great game and I'm just stating that the hack I'm talking about only incorporates wavedashing (via Melee airdodges) and that L-cancelling which is mentioned above somewhere still doesn't exist in Brawl. =P

wavedash in brawl? there's a similar option and much easier to do already - dash to shield <3
But there's the tripping risk option.

I guess wavedash is better.
I do it too much in Melee anyways. Not a hassle for me...
Now... For a Melee 2.0 with Wavedash, SHFFLing, a banned Metahax, newly replaced by Roy and Dr Mario - I'm sure to be looking forward to a Nintendon't version of Brawl for Tournament Play.

Edit: How do you hack brawl? Link please?

hmmm...

Oh dear lord...

So where's my Marth wavedash?

Also you better bring this code to Boost Meteor.

Yes "They're" considering banning Metaknight

Unless things change this may be the last boost he's allowed to participate in :D

when it comes to the melee 2.0 thing i would like to see some aspects from both games.
eg. brawl and melee

from melee:
wavedashing/wavelanding
L-cancelling
melee edge physics
crouch canceling
the option to have tether not auto-sweetspot the edge (i.e. to act like in melee)
the teching physics of melee
reflective powershielding
the option to directional dodge

from brawl:
dash cancelled smashing
glide tossing
footstooling
wallclinging
crawling
gliding
catching/picking up items when attacking with aireals/dash
tripping from getting attacked/bananas (NOT Randomly on dashing)
the option to have tethers auto-sweetspot the edge
multiple dodging
the option to still momentum dodge (i.e. brawl dodge physics)

So i guess when it comes to the tether issue it can be played some thing like how you can affoid grabing the edge while performing recoveries. i.e holding down/up/away from the edge when doing a tether will have it act like melee tethers (hooks into the stage and doesnt count as being at the edge) and holding towards the edge or leaving at neutral will have it auto-sweetspot like in brawl and can still be used for edge hogging.

although the dodging issue is a bit more difficult. maybe what can happen is that you can only directional dodge the first time and after that each dodge will be a momentum dodge. i would like it to be better than this but ill have to think how it can be implemented with the brawl controls. would be easy if i had ful access to the c-stick like controls for every controller option and half shielding like in melee.

when i figure it out i will post it just for LOLz

Don't forget that Brawl has the lame you must press down all the way to fall thru platforms which is way worse than the implementation used in Melee.

It means it becomes harder to position yourself advantageously(?) to the level playing field. Brawl may have noobified the game but it also means less control to yourself(!)

Eg you wanted to Fair from the edge when you see the opp try to take adv but u end up grabbing the edge anyway...
hmmm...

dedu I don't get how your example relates to pushing all the way down to move through platforms,
Or how you auto grab the ledge when Fairing from the edge. I don't really see it as I use all aireals from the ledge.

I think I just misinterpret what your trying to say so can you explain your example a bit better for me.

Also the pressing completely down again is due to the fact that you can play with wiimote only which doesn't allow varying pressures on direction. I think anyways

I think that's impossible. You just can't zair as it auto grabs the edge.

Yeah i know Bjay.

But in Melee you could and it stopped the opponent from ledgehogging or shinespiking you as fox.

What about lightshielding from Melee? Is that in Brawl, because if it is I don't see people using it.

Other things to consider:
- SHFFL-ing (allows for combos that rewards complex input balancing like other fighters)
- Longer dashdancing (increased freedom of movement and positioning and allows grabs from behind)
- More sit stun (Pokes/Jabs etc that interrupt, allows for openings and reduces reaction times lengthening combos)
- Lightshielding edgeguard
- Greater Directional influence
- More sheild-smash (like shield grab but youre smashing out of shield)

Now I'm confused even more, lol.
Its because you never had to do so as Peach. All Peach had to do was float back onto stage and then attack from the stage/air, not the other way round as often seen in Marth, Sheik and Jiggs.

They have basically 3 options when the opponent saw an opportunity to hit them further off the stage when they are recovering back.
1. Get to the ledge asap.
2. Get close to the ledge, bait by lingering there, wait for the opp to run out and try to hit them, then aim to the ledge with the up b.
3. Offensive/Defensive style by forward air near the edge to say 'i'm going to hit you if you get too close to me!' and then up b, often results in the opp just standing there and waiting for you to get back or if they're falco, just fsmash/laser.

hmmm...

>.< Geez isn't wavedashing enough for now. Also, characters that had terrible wavedashing ability in Melee seem to have godly wavedashes. I haven't seen a single character with a bad wavedash using it actually. I should probably point out the fact that it is MUCH easier to perform than in Melee for some reason simply because it is done more effectively the higher you do it + Brawl floatiness.

Also, stop calling it Melee 2.0, that will never happen.

And yes Shaya, I will bring my Brawldashing hax to Boost.
