Wait... WHAT THE ****!?

I'M DISQUALIFIED FROM LOSERS ALSO!?

rules said:
In the interest of fairness, if a match is not completed, both players will be disqualified but only players who did not give any warning will be blacklisted. The other player will not be blacklisted.
In the interest of fairness?
Are you kidding me? It doesn't say anything about DQ'd from winners and losers. If I had known this I wouldn't have signed up, I thought it was only from winners, which alone is terrible, but I could live with it.

So fairness is giving ss118 a free ride to winners finals with only winning ONE set??
So fairness is kicking me out of the tournament for being active, completing a set fine, then happening to come across an opponent that hasn't signed onto swf and hasn't responded to me?

This is bull****, I'm never entering any of your events again unless this is fixed.

"Disqualified from winner's but not loser's" is like saying my laptop is only a little bit on. There's no gray area between disqualified and not disqualified.

I assumed it meant DQ'd from that round

any tournament in person if you don't show up to a match on time and you get DQ'd you just lose that specific match

not to mention where in any tournament ever (including mlg) if you're opponent shows up, you still go on and just your opponent loses and goes to losers, not both get dq'd

edit: it didn't say DQ'd from the tournament or DQ'd from winners and losers, it just says DQ'd which heavily suggests just that occurence/match

Because how would the interactions of my set with Alamaster in winners in any way effect my set with TRG in losers?

Gates, DQ'ing Chibo because his opponent didn't show/wasn't able to play isn't a fair proceeding. Even though you outlined your reasoning behind it in your OP, that isn't a fair application of the rules, as technically BLM and I never played our match either. Even though he insisted that he be DQ'ed from his match, I still wasn't forced to play an opponent and wasn't DQ'ed from the tournament for his no-show. Functionally, our circumstances were the same, since we both (Chibo and I) tried to set up contact with our opponents (BLM and Alamaster), we both were unable to play our matches before the deadline, they both didn't respond to our contact, etc. The only difference is that BLM posted requesting to be disqualified the night of the deadline, and alamaster hasn't logged on to post/confirm much of anything since he signed up for the tournament (last sign-in date was Feb 2nd). We should receive equal treatment, either by DQ'ing me from the tournament, or allowing Chibo to continue on in the bracket.

tl;dr

Partial DQ doesn't make sense. Like I said, it's like saying my laptop is only a little bit on.

just stopped working again ><

DQ me.
BLM asked to be DQ'd, Alamaster did not. You're trying to compare apples and oranges. A player asking to leave is different from a player not showing up at all. And of course I meant being disqualified from the tournament. Thinking otherwise is just stupid. We went over this conversation before in this thread. I'm not changing the rules halfway through the tournament. Deal with it.

I'm never entering any of your events again unless this is fixed.
Joke's on you, I'm not hosting an event again. It's a giant waste of time.

How is it different? It's comparing Apples and Apples. Kirby didn't play his match and got to proceed. I didn't play my match and didn't get to proceed.

Also I wouldn't really call giving me the same benefit kirby got changing the rules mid tournament. Or at least just sending me to losers but not out of the tournament which is the impression I was under.

I just don't see how I deserve to be kicked out of the tournament and being active for just happening to come across an opponent who didn't show up. Geeez I should have just made his account make a post that says I can't do it, DQ me with my mod powers

Reported for power abuse.

In all seriousness, I feel like what Gates said is valid, though. If you were going to a job interview, would there be a difference in if you notified the company and told them you could not make it as an emergency situation and if you just straight-up didn't show up at all? One notified. One didn't.

Yea, that stops being blacklisted or not, but why should that effect the other player.

Using your job interview example, it's like saying two people show up for an interview, one will get the job. In situation one interviewee A said he couldn't make it, B got the job. In situation 2 interviewee A randomly didn't show up, and the job decided to not give the job to B for no reason.

Wait, the other matches still have before 3/6 right? I mean I'm scheduled to play my match today, but I'm asking to be sure.

kirbyraeg didn't play his match because his opponent forfeited. You didn't play your match because your opponent was some random schmuck. Just because neither of you played your matches this round doesn't mean that you should both get the same treatment. Wave didn't play a match this round because he had a bye. Are you going to compare yourself to him next?

You were well aware of the rules of this tournament going into it and you joined anyway. Why don't you grow the **** up or I'll report you for being off topic. You might be able to browbeat Wave into restarting a tourney but that doesn't work on me.

Geeez I should have just made his account make a post that says I can't do it, DQ me with my mod powers
I wouldn't have cared if you did this, but Mic might have.

ok, let me spell it out.

kirbyraeg and Majority have until 11:59 pm on 3/6 to finish their match.

Wave vs. Moozle, Terywj vs TRG, and Winner's Finals have until 11:59 pm on 3/13 to be completed. I may look into extending the deadline for Winner's Finals if both players can agree on a date for it to be done. Additionally as a reminder, Winner's, Loser's, and Grand Finals are best of 5 instead of best of 3.

I'm too lazy to play Moozle, so I'll give him the win. Plus, I've played a grand total of three gen V Ubers battles ever.

Unfortunately since I didn't get an explanation in time, I'll have to blacklist both of you. Sorry.

You guys didn't get my PM that I sent on Friday?

Tery, Moozle, and Art, I'm going to give you guys until 3/20 to do Loser's and Grand Finals. Both sets are best of 5 instead of best of 3.

I did, I just forgot and got mixed up, thinking the deadline was next weekend. Rare for me to just mix up something like that. :p

That was probably the most ******** set I've ever played.

I don't think I've ever been paralyzed 5 consecutive turns.

Confirming a 1-3 lose to Moozle.

I won 3-2 against Tery, not 3-1.

It was super haxy on both sides. I got frozen 4/5 times by ice beam, and two of those were crits lol. But Tery definitely got the worst of the hax, so sorry about that :(

I don't mind.

I'd like to get the matches done this weekend. Maybe Saturday afternoon? I should be able to clear my schedule for almost any time as long as you give me a bit of notice. During the week I don't get home from school until 6:30 central.

Uhh... the winner from the losers bracket has to defeat the winner of the winners bracket in two sets to win the tournament, because the winners bracket winner hasn't lost any sets yet when the losers bracket winner did. If Moozle wins the first set, then both Moozle and ss118 are on equal ground, so then the next winners wins for sure, but if ss118 wins the first set it's all over.

Maybe it's because of this tournament rules ss118 only had to win one single set before he made it into grand finals <_<
But of course, it's all because

Man I had to play 5 sets I got the short end of the stick lol.

Edit: Chibo I would normally agree with you about me having to win 2 sets, but I already had to win 4 when Art only had to win 1.
