So after years of neglect I finally decided to go back and read more of Prison School...
It picked it up when it first came out, but there were other things to read as well.
Fourth best decision of my life. It can be a bit raunchy at time, but good lord is it hilarious.
And it still manages to have a few touching/awesome moments.
This manga isn't for everyone, but it's for me.

I was just not going to bother trying to recreate that font to make it "Smash Salt."
And it seems so fitting.
Umbrella being a character in one of the earliest drafts of the story, one of the original 8 playable (alongside Squiggly, btu were replaced with Valentine and Double who were originally just bosses) and ended up becoming trumped by Eliza in the dlc fighter request thing.

SA1 and SA2 are two very different games as it is. I always thought SA2 should have had a different title.

The only game we know that was literally called Sonic Adventure 3 at one point was Unleashed, and that was at a point when they had already decided on only Sonic being playable, the Werehog form serving as a "second character", etc. And the vastly different gameplay formula compared to the other Adventure games (which were quite different from each other as is).

I would not be surprised if SEGA caved and called the next game that. But I never understood the fanbases desire for one.

And if we want to talk about gameplay successor to Adventure, then Heroes was SA3. And '06 was SA4.

The friend missions were cool.

They're the closest we've gotten to playing as other characters again in a main series game.

I mean.

The one thing that defined Sonic Adventure, to me, was where it got it's name sake from - Adventure Fields, and the fact the whole game was about journeying through vast, surreal, mystical locations, or bizarre, crazy places. The whole vibe and pace of the story also made it feel like an adventure, discovering an ancient civilasation and looking everywhere for Chaos Emeralds to prevent a god from destroying everything, and the dialogue was goofy but in a cute and charming way. And there was world building in the hub worlds.

SA2 is a linear level to level game with no Adventure Fields, the core level design for Sonic/Shadow is much more linear and focused on spectacles and set pieces, the worlds are much less surreal and are either grounded in reality or are very sci-fi inspired, instead of an ancient civilisation and a god, you had the army and government conspiracies ("WORLD WIDE TERRORIST ACTIVITY HAS INCREASED"), and the pacing of the story was very quick, always frantic with the characters rushing towards their next objective, and the dialogue was as Western action movie cheese as things could get ("I DIE HARD!").

Sonic Adventure 2 wasn't an adventure at all. It was an action thriller, through and through. It should have had a name to reflect that.

Unleashed is the only game that feels like a true successor to SA1 to me ('06 fuses elements of both). It literally has everything SA1 had except for the core gameplay and the multiple stories, but makes up for it by expanding everything else by an exceptional margin (such as all of the little sub plots with the NPCs).

So I bought the 3D Classics version of Sonic the Hedgehog. The 3D is really subtle and a good fit; the backgrounds especially look good. It's nice to be playing an old Sonic game again.

I'd love to see the first three Sonic games (and maybe CD) remade in the Generations Classic engine. Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Sky Sanctuary were so good in Generations, I want to see the rest of the games done the same way.
