His point was a little unclear at times (though that's a TB thing in general, he's a rambler), but I do more or less agree.
The only possible point of contention I would have here is that I hope he isn't speaking in absolutes. Like, I agree there is no point to calling someone out on being a hypocrite most of the time in a discussion, but there are some occasions where it is valid. Mostly when someone is saying they believe one thing in a post, but in the same post, say they do the opposite or something. On the other hand, a person who has said something in a post months ago, and is saying the opposite now, they simply changed their minds, so there is nothing to call out.
Even then it's not an absolute. Like of course, I wouldn't call an alcoholic out for telling someone not to drink. Alcoholism is not something you simply get rid of at will, it takes time and may even be impossible for some, and that shouldn't be held against them when they try to save someone else from making the same mistake.
However, there are certain situations where I believe when someone who preaches something doesn't practice it, then they are themselves just trying to gain points and "win" a game. Let it not be forgotten that one of the best ways to make a point is to set an example.
To imagine a scenario, let's pretend I'm a famous Youtiber going around saying "Sonic 06 is a terrible game, don't buy it". Then people spot me playing the game a lot om streams and really enjoying it, seemingly having the time of my life with it in a completely genuine way. Then people would immediately doubt that I believe in my own arguments of the game being bad. To call me out on that would not be trying to win points, I'd say I've caused a genuine case of confusion and justified doubt in my own arguments of the game being bad, since I don't seem to believe it is bad at all. It could be argued I stated popular "it's bad" opinions in my videos for views, not because I wanted to promote or contribute to actual discussion. Especially when I have failed to actually contribute.
But if it was a case that I played the game a lot to make a walkthrough in case people do enjoy it and need help, or I acknowledge the game's objectively terrible aspects but enjoy it anyway for subjective things like glitching the game, then I am not a hypocrite and am trying to contribute to discussion on the game in a meaningful way. Or maybe I am still a hypocrite for buying the game, but it doesn't matter since my points still have no reason to be doubted in this instance as it only backs it up, as does my attitude.
...I just kind of rambled there and probably didn't make a whole lot of sense. I apologise.
