But again, because it was the Hype Game(TM) of the time, it's good points would've been exaggerated to hell. Just like with Undertale now.not... really, no
its actual gameplay is pretty much garbage? all the bosses are damage sponges and the combat is otherwise standard atb
it's a run of the mill rpg maker game, outside of the lore
As a long time horror game fan, let me explain FNAF.Five Nights At Freddy's is a short, experimental indie horror game about looking at cameras...why did it gain such a ridiculously huge fanbase?
He's just a normal dad, it's a normal game, what are you talking about?i do like octodad and think it has its merits
but "lper culture", for lack of a better term, is deeefinitely a contributor to its popularity
y'know, slapstick humor, ragdoll physics, whatevs
Hold on...one of these reviewers...You know that really isn't much of an accomplishment...
...when the "reviews" are mostly memes.
OFF resonated with a bunch of people as well for how deep it was and it's lore, characters, and it's ending and all of that.TBH, I have a seriously have a hard time believing that it will become a fad.
I think it will become resonated with fans for a long time, just like the Mother fanbase.
But...The rest is just dark colour schemes, grunting, guns and blood. -_-
Because of Markiplier, basically. You know.... That vid with that title claiming it was the scariest game in years? Yeah, pretty sure that's how it started.Five Nights At Freddy's is a short, experimental indie horror game about looking at cameras...why did it gain such a ridiculously huge fanbase?
This too, excellent point.Because it was perfect for Youtube. People eat reactions up and a game all about jumpscares? Reaction opportunities are pretty much the entire game.
All the big youtubers did it and here we are.
That's not... OK.Everyone here's having a serious discussion and I'm just laughing my *** off at this Ness cake.
They were so close, too. But they just HAD to do...that.
I should elaborate on my post a bit: I don't specifically dislike a game because it's indie, I just meant that no indie has really caught my eye yet personally. There are probably some out there that would really appeal to me, but it's hard to tell since the indie market exploded just a little while ago.Liking or disliking a game because it is Indie is silly. Sure there is a bit of charm because a tiny little company made something but the gameplay isn't vastly different because of it. Games are games. Putting random tags on it for the sake of having tags doesn't change ****.
That is...actually very applicable to me.Also I just watched that Sam Pepper prank, that was ****ing atrocious.
Though a part of me thinks the person being pranked was actually in on it. "HE'S ALL I HAVE" sounds like a really over the top and cheesy thing to say if you were really in that situation, unless you really, really did have nothing but your best friend left.
You know.... I was planning on having wonderful and sweet thoughts tonight in bed.... So much for that. Thank you.Everyone here's having a serious discussion and I'm just laughing my *** off at this Ness cake.

Especially this like god it';s so annoying.....Let's Plays?
I'd rather play than watch a loud person do it.
Had it since last night, there's not much to it. It's pretty barebones right now.https://www.nintendo.co.jp/nintendo_account/index.html
That Nintendo account thing just launched in Japan.
Worthy of an article on Source Gaming, PushDustIn ?
I'd really love to know what it's actually like.
That can be applied to pretty much every game really. Let's use Super Mario World for example. Even after Super Mario World released nearly 20 years ago, the game still is very popular, continuing its popularity through ROM hacks, which includes Kaizo Mario.Heartwarmer or not, it's going to decline in popularity or not. People always think something won't be just a fad, and it turns out that it is. Doesn't mean the game is bad, though.
Mario World was a high-budget game that was created by the most famous gaming company in the world, starring protagonists and antagonist everyone already knew and loved, alongside much more. That can be applied to pretty much every game really. In my opinion, with the UT fanbase creating their own story on what the Undertale's post game are like through comics/videos, the seemingly endless dialogue and secrets, and the huge potential of Undertale mods with the gameplay, I think it will be a community that will last for a long time.
Sure Undertale will probably won't be as popular as Mario himself, but that wasn't the reason the game continued to be popular. It was the joy of making custom levels by modding SMW combined with it's super smooth gameplay led to where the Super Mario World community is today.Mario World was a high-budget game that was created by the most famous gaming company in the world, starring protagonists and antagonist everyone already knew and loved, alongside much more.
Undertale is an indie game by one developer that has characters no one has ever known about before.
Big difference.
I posted this earlier today lol. Surprised they launched ithttps://www.nintendo.co.jp/nintendo_account/index.html

oh god noo T^Tim just going to go back to my safe place and watch game grumps I already finished chugga's new lp :/just dare you watch him doing the toad voice.....
it sucks SO MUCH!
very true ...I think let's plays are fine if you find the "hosts" entertaining, like I enjoy Game Grumps, Achievement Hunter, Super Panic Frenzy, and a bit of Markiplier.
I would never watch a let's play to experience a game and its story, I don't even like watching friends play games, they're the kind of thing that really should be experienced first hand.
