Reading this thread in the last day, I now know why I retired from this thread.
I can't help but say I am contemplating perma-retiring from this thread again.
Inb4 Smooth calls you melodramatic :awesome:
I feels you man, but somehow I just skipped over it.
I mess around with solo-dolo Zelda from time to time. She's pretty fun.
I can attest that Moon has indeed wrecked me with his Zelda. Dang I'm bad at this game.

yeah I never really cared for his Brawl design either
Like I said, Link had the awful Japanese fake dyed hair look, a weird looking outfit, and the Gale Boomerang (along with FLUDD) was the worst move added to veterans in Brawl.

I'm so glad we're going back to the classic Zelda, which are the best games (especially since the Wind Waker has now established itself as a classic game).

I'm tired of everything being about the newest and weakest Zelda games. I don't get it. I mean, with Metroid, most fans rag on Other M for the lack of quality, but people don't do that with Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess, which are a similarly low quality game compared to the classics (especially since those 2 games have aged horrible in a relatively short amount of time).

I mean, people are gonna complain if we get a Other M stage over a Prime stage (which they should), but they aren't gonna nag if we get another Zelda stage from Spirit Tracks/Phantom Hourglass/Skyward Sword. Which is funny, because IMO Other M has cooler locations than those games (sans Skyloft).

Also, I must say, I gotta say that I would love a Minish Cap stage. That to me has been the best Zelda game over the last 8 years/since the Wind Waker (sans remakes).

@Diddy: Absolutely not. Spirit Train is in, where Toon Zelda last appeared. She could still get in, even with Young/Classic/Masked Link. Toon Zelda still has a chance, although I doubt she'd beat out Tingle currently. It depends if we got Toon Ganondorf or not, since a Toon game will probably be repped by a character.
I have to agree with Diddy Kong here.

It doesn't make sense for Toon Zelda/Tetra to appear without Toon Link.

I rather link videos than type that support my case. Then again I don't have to convince since the majority here seems to understand the definition of fighting game clones.

You know, Diddy, after a long time of glazing over all these arguments, I can say there's a lot of similarities between Impa and Anna, but a few glaring differences which most people will reject outright and a few conundrums.
The only other real problem is how you do it. It's best if there's no arguments or debates, but simple discussion, no one 'loses' then, it is much more civil, and everyone is more likely to listen to reason.
Although, still trying to shy away from the Impa discussions, I don't know if these things are really accurate at all. Do your best, sir.

Hey everyone:

You are literally the reason at least 4 QUALITY posters I know of don't post here anymore.

And no, it isn't, at least with you and your blind Impa fanboyism here. That hasn't been the case for the last 3 years of your Impa promotions, which is nearing getting creepy.

In fact, I will take talking about incest (like w did yesterday) over you and your "Impa must replace Sheik" conversations without any hesitation. Honestly, your sort of blind fanboyism is why I prefer to talk stages nowadays; stages are at least more interesting ideas, people rarely are total fanboys, and rarely do we have bad ideas.

@John- Well in Other M's case, the hate for that mostly comes from its story (even though I didn't like the gameplay either), so it's easier I guess to hate on that than say Twilight Princess

Other M was also the biggest divergence in the Metroid series, not counting Hunters and Pinball. The divergence in the Zelda series has been slower in comparison.

I think you're overexagerating the decline in quality Zelda games though. They aren't that bad and 7.5 is not a bad score when you take all the games out there. There's at least two things Skyward Sword did right. The first was finally putting in orchestral music, something that was long overdue with Twilight Princess (and boy did it suffer for it). The second was the much improved characterization. It almost seems like every time Nintendo attempts characterization now, they've been getting better, but no one should count Sticker Star because that was unfortunate Executive Meddling. Who knows? This might eventually lead to a new Starfox game. One of the things I thought had a lot of potential in Starfox was the relationships between the characters.

I'm not being melodramatic (Smooth has wanted to do the same thing before), I am just tired of stupid stuff. I don't mind off-topic stuff, but all this fanboyism where people say "that character sucks, and I'm not going to debate it, and instead ramble, ramble, ramble" is silly.

Quite frankly, hearing Diddy say this since before Skyward Sword came out has thinned my patience like a diet of nothing but 2 bowls of jell-o.

Even so, it was to differentiate itself. It failed in characterization IMO, but at least the gameplay felt new and fresh. I can't say that about Twilight Princess, sans the motion controls.

Music and "improved" characterization (I still thought the supporting characters sucked; Ghirahim was cool, though), but actually, but I actually disagree with the characterization. The characterization, sans Zelda and Link, went down. Ghirahim was a poor man's Zant, Fi wasn't even as good as Navi, and the rest of the characters are largely unmemorable. Honestly, after Majora's Mask, characterization has gotten worse.

What the game did right was like 3 bosses, a few new quests (still not much; there's no reason Zelda can't go full Skyrim with all kinds of crazy and inspired quests), and the motion controls. Everything else was a downgrade from Twilight Princess, which was a gigantic downgrade from the Wind Waker. The gameplay

At least John's not saying that he's feeling disenfranchised, you diva.
I guess that word doesn't mean the same thing to us :awesome:
I wonder if there was a way which we could compare degrees of distaste, I wouldn't think 'disenfranchised' so high.

I haven't been talking about Impa before Skyward Sword I think? And it hasn't been 3 years. 1.5 is more accurate I think.

That's not quite right, John. If I'm really bristling with irritation, I give it a voice; that's just how I am. And I don't usually retire from a conversation, argument, debate, or whatever until I get **** off of my chest, or when my point's been made.

That said, I don't really mind the speculation, the blind fanboyism, and the varying opinions of franchises, games, and media. I'm not particularly invested, and it's really all a matter of preference. I have **** that I like, you have **** that you like. If Diddy wants to blather on and on (mindlessly) about Impa's importance to the Zelda franchise, let him. He's not hurting anyone, aside from offending sensibilities and what have you.

Some of the arguments on here are really silly sometimes.

@Monk: I would, because it's sad thinking that some place on the interwebs makes (or, rather, made) you feel so powerless. You're a smart dude. You know better. :p

I mean, Diddy's Impa thirst isn't really a breaking news story or anything

I don't see why people here are reacting as if this were only his third time campaigning her and ****

RIGHT?
No, especially not when it's literally one person hijacking a discussion that was currently going on between at least a dozen people... Granted, a lot of character discussions are just as jarring in my opinion but at least there's people supporting both sides of the argument instead of this thread basically turning into a completely one sided infomercial for several hours. It's already bad enough that I'm bored at work, I don't need to be bored in my favorite forum too.

Some people like to overreact to things even though it isn't really annoying them. Its like some here are incapable of ignoring this.

I had an awful dream that Smash sold itself out and included a bunch of third-parties no one ever heard or cared about only because they had upcoming games on the Wii U that Nintendo needed to advertise, and ALSO included third-parties just because they were women?

Who ever posted that picture of that lady from Wonderful 101, I think it's your fault that I had that dream.

I believe Nintendo has the rights to Wonderful 101, but I could be wrong

Live and let live, Fatman. Ya'll could elect to not respond or even politely dismiss Diddy's desire for Impa in Smash, and further any other conversation besides.

I wish I had a Wii U so I could play Earthbound without its piracy checker making the game impossible.
