Sorry about the ongoing venting. An unbelievably slow workday paired with 104 degree heat and my mentor being in critical condition three states away has made this day kind of stressful.

If anything Battlefield, Dreamland 64, Yoshi's Story, Fountain of Dreams, Yoshi's Island (Brawl), or Smashville are the most neutral stages ever.

Also, even PS1 (which IMO is way more neutral) is a counter-pick stage in Melee.

I think we may be thinking of different words, I'm thinking of neutral. It was actually proven PS2 does not changes the least match up ratios out of every stage, so it's be the most neutral as it doesn't benefit one side more then the other almost ever. And trust me, you can fight on EVERY transformation if you know the unique techs the stage allows!

I may be wrong, but I think you are thinking at least a bit more of static. It is a bit philosophical saying PS2 is neutral, but my reasoning is it doesn't give advantages to one side or the other which is most fair yes? All those stages you listed cant do that technically as well as PS2 though I understand how weird that must sound. The backroom itself mentioned this in official statements about the stage during it's last recommended ruleset. Some regions even have it as a starter because of that (Nova Scotia and Finland for sure have off the top of my head, and I know there are others that have too.)

But I will concede the chances of most people legalizing PS2 and making it a starter are low nowadays. (Back in the day, there were serious pushes to make it a starter and FD a counterpick.)

You know what I mean... It's still a matter of dominating a conversation that most people have openly stated that they don't want to have multiple times. Why should everyone else leave when it's the one person being rude? It's not like I'm saying he can't have an opinion but the fact that this topic has kept coming back multiple times a week since I came back to these forums about a month ago is really getting on my nerves.

Diddy brings up Impa often to everyone else's chagrin... I understand that definitely, he used to annoy me even once upon a time (I don't really care about anymore now though)

But answer me this: who are the people acknowledging this the most and giving him all this attention? Diddy isn't oblivious to how he's made others feel about Impa, he knows it all too well. I'd even go as far to say that he purposefully brings up Impa knowing the reaction he'll get from the people every single time here. Yet y'all keep falling for the bait by complaining and berating him about it at every turn you get

Sometimes ignoring the problem is the best thing you can possibly you do, especially in this case. By addressing him and talking about it with him, you're only giving him the attention that he craves and making the problem worse. It's like the troll that keeps flaming the forum or the class clown that talks constantly and fools around while the other students are actually trying to learn; by openly acknowledging them, you're contributing to what their doing, whether you realize it or not

I guess I come from a different perspective because it's easy for me to just leave if I don't care for or like what's going on in the thread, but that's just how I see it *shrugs*

I want it to just be legal how it is, but I do understand why in most places this wont be so. With hopefully better wifi this time, maybe other regions can find ways to convince people, who knows? Finland tested Mario Bros. based on a thread and found it to be competitive once as well, but obviously that will never happen either. XD
