Awakening sold very well and not only that, but Chrom is also very popular.
Okay. Why would he replace Ike? That only says that he should get in.

Mewtwo was a movie pokemon, he gets replaced by Lucario, another movie pokemon, who will more than likely be replaced in the same manner. Maybe not by Zoroark, but he will get replaced.
Except Lucario didn't replace Mewtwo. They were both intended to be in the game. Mewtwo and Roy were cut due to time constraints. The only replacement was Toon Link replacing Young Link, which is iffy because its just an "update" of the character.

I'd love a more fleshed out Melee adventure mode, where you explore a world for each franchise and then fight the characters of that franchise in a boss battle, then take on Master Hand in a final bout on Final Destination.

Sounds solid to me. How about starting in the area your chosen character comes from as their first level then it randomizes until you reach Master Hand?

Anyone else want them to drop the whole "characters being trophies" thing? Or would you rather have them keep the tradition?

Wouldn't really care if the Ice Climbers are gone or not.
Same here... I had good fun with them in Melee and Brawl... but I am ready to move on.

There are a lot of characters I wouldn't really care if they get cut.

In either case Lucario was given much higher priority to be in Brawl as a Pokeman representative than Mewtwo with foreknowledge of cuts.

People must realize something about Smash Bros.:

As long as it's a Nintendo character, there's no "too" that can stop it from being playable.

Also, you forgot to say the Villager is TOO PEACEFUL
It is truly ironic when you think about it... people used to say Villager cannot get in because he is too peaceful... and now we have Psycho Villager memes.

That's what I'm saying, I want a lot of newer characters for smash4 just the whole returning thing gets old imo. And if they keep the older characters in then at least change up there move sets a bit more.

And then 8th generation Lucario gains a new form and replaces Mewtwo again :troll:

I doubt Ice Climbers would get cut, they have one of the most unique playstyles. Plus they are super cute.

It sounds like he really wants to include them, despite difficulties. So I doubt that they'll be cut as well. They'll just take more time than planned.

Ike is basically guaranteed to get replaced with Chrom. Just like Lucario will get replaced with another pokemon (Probably from a movie i.e. Zoroark)

I think ICs could get cut.

Ike can only get replaced by someone whose chant is a grand total of 3 syllables. Ex: Roy's Our Boy.

Also, Ike is a ****ing beast. Wields 2 handed sword with one hand, uppercuts people, throws his sword at people and doesn't give a rats ass.

And Chrom is missing half of his armor...

Why do people think that if we cut a bunch of characters that we'll get more newcomers? If we lose character, it means a smaller roster.

Sakurai isn't as cut-happy as people think he is. Only Pichu and Young Link were intended to be cut; the rest were planned to return at one point or another (Mewtwo and Roy were planned until late in the game and cut due to time constraints). Brawl's roster has a stronger cast overall than Melee did and it's much harder to argue that Lucario and Ike should be cut without using the recentness argument (which I doubt Sakurai cares about and even then, both have made recent appearance ever since then).
Now the memes ain't funny no more, I can say I still dislike all newcomers. Megaman I feelmis the most justified out of all, and Villager might be reasonable, but I didn't want them both in. Not upset about that they are in the game, am more upset they choose the Villager and Wii Fit Trainer as announcement characters. Outside of Megaman, we haven't seen the more popular choices yet (even though Megaman still probably was the most popular choice). Am glad we've seen more veterans though.

Seriously, would've expected to see Takamaru and Little Mac at least. It's not like they are my most wanted, but they just seemed obvious. Like, Wario, Diddy Kong, MetaKnight- obvious. And no retro reveal kinda worries me to. Melee had Ice Climbers, Brawl had Pit. Where are Takamaru and Mach Rider now?

Cuts have been confirmed also. So I'm quite worried we might not even get the more popular choices as King K.Rool and Ridley. Feeling less comfy about Mewtwo and Ike now to. Thoughg DLC being actually confirmed could change that.

Anyways... I'm hoping to at least have Diddy in there. He was my most wanted character ever, so I probably am not in the position to complain.
Cuts have not been confirmed at all. They probably will happen, but they haven't been confirmed. Even if cuts do happen, it likely won't be on Lucario and Ike contrary to what people think. Snake, Sonic and Toon Link are all in more danger.

I am confident that we will get at least one retro newcomer in the game. Sakurai, after all, did state he wanted to revive characters.

And I wouldn't worry about Diddy Kong getting the axe at all. Ike will likely make a return as well.
I have a theory that Ridley is going to be in this game for the similar back peddle reasoning Villager got in.

Ridley was claimed to be "impossible", but then the statement was rectified by the "if we try it could work" thing. Similarly, Villager was initially rejected because of Animal Crossing being too peaceful, but was backpedaled by a statement regarding to the character using varies tools like nets to attack.
Exactly why I feel Ridley will get in this game. I'll be surprised if Sakurai chooses to not include Ridley this time around.
I will never understand the want for Ridley. He just seems like a character that wouldnt fit at all in terms of looks to the other characters.
If Mega Man can fit in despite third-party nature, so can Ridley. And I don't see what's that hard to understand about people wanting characters. Wanting characters should be that, wanting characters.
So has anyone read that Sakurai isn't giving out the Mega Man Kirby B-Move info? Yeah, exciting news today
I'm really curious to see what exactly Kirby's B move is. Could be just the Mega Buster, but hopefully it's something else.

I'm going to need a reason for why Ike and Lucario would get cut aside from "lack of recentness". Which is a crappy reason to put it mildly, especially when both Ike and Lucario have been proven to be relevant.

Ike's game bombed in the West and yet he got in the game. If sales mattered so much, Mega Man would have been excluded as well given that most of his games recently have sold poorly (Powered Up! for PSP which I've heard sold less than 10,000 copies).
Back to Adventure mode talk, just for a tiny minute:
I'd like if every stage in Adventure Mode was like the 2 first stages of Melee's, with Goombas, Koopas, Paratroopas, Oktoroks, ReDeads, LikeLikes and whatever foe they can throw us.
I'm hoping that it indicates a glorified Melee Adventure Mode with more humor thrown into it. SSE was too serious for its own good.

One of the things I've always liked about Megaman is that even though he's third party, he's always felt like a Nintendo character to me. I think that's why I felt cheated by Sonic and Snake in Brawl. Aside from the early NES games, the Metal Gear have virtually been a Sony exclusive for nearly all its lifespan and Sonic didn't join the "Nintendo Cause" until SEGA crashed and burned shortly before the PS2/GCN/XBox era. Really, it's just refreshing to have him aboard.
A big reason why I wanted to see Mega Man was because of him being practically synonymous with Nintendo. I like the concept of third-parties having close ties to Nintendo and with Mega Man being such a great character, both of these things combined to make him my most wanted character. Seeing him work out so well in Smash does a lot more than excite me for the game.

Its not that, its just that Smash doesnt include animal/monster type characters unless they are humanoidish. The only exceptions to this are things from the Pokemon series, which still has Lucario and Mewtwo being humanoid. I simply couldnt see him getting in with the others in terms of Artstyle/look at all.

One thing worth noting about Villager is how much of his moveset reflects the ideas scrapped for Brawl Sakurai talked about in Famitsu (if you need a link check Tri's information thread). Villager proves that when it comes to Sakurai, no plan is ever truly thrown away. He is always willing, and likely, to pull from what he couldn't do. Even with the rumored Little Mac, who was a Assist Trophy that by nature was considered not good enough to be playable; and Mii, who was also rejected much like Villager as they were too casual; we see how his opinions can change with time. So while Sukapon may not have worked for one game, he may work for another. All in all I'm glad that Sakurai has reminded us once again that just when we think we know what he is going to do -- he turns the tables. Villager broke the mold, yet made absolute sense why he should be playable.

Woo, finally got New Leaf.
Current status;
Halfway through my first payment to Nook. But hey, at least my tent is decked out.
Made a Link shirt based off of A Link To The Past, bought triangle glasses and a 1Up hat. Lookin good.
People in my town are Sterling (My bro,) Annalise, anicotti, Knox, and Papi. As long as Sterling my bro stays, I'm fine.
I REALLY want a fishing rod, but I can't find one yet. Got a shovel and Bug net, though.
So yeah, there's a small summary of my humble, low budget town.

Oh and smash stuff, villager is cool will second him yaay.

Sonic and Megaman is all we need. Those two have been two of the highest wanted of all time in any crossover games. I can see a huge ****ing ****storm if Sonic doesn't return.

Snake honestly doesn't need to come back, though it would be awesome.

This is the same reason why I want Pac-Man and Simon Belmont in addition to Mega Man in Smash.

If Pac Man does get in, which I dont think would be smart, he seems like the character to get the Sonic treatment.
Like, uninspired moveset due to lack of games that were remember able.
