I mean, making Ridley smaller, to me, would take some away from him as a whole, but I guess if everyone's cool with him being smaller...

Upsizing a character isn't the same as shrinking one in my opinion.

They resized Bowser, Charizard, Donkey Kong and King Dedede just fine.

He's kinda right though. Ridley is so big that if he's included, the very fabric of space-time continuum will be torn, creating a black hole that will devour all. It would be more powerful than anything created at CERN... The end result: the gaming system implodes on itself.

This wouldn't be pretty for the kids at home...

Hmm, but perhaps there is a way to include him. Something about resizing I'm hearing... It could just work!

When has he actually looked 5'7" though? I mean he's supposed to look like this!


Keep in mind that Ash's Charizard is small for its species.

Charizard has been portrayed as huge in the anime and 3D games. Aside from Brawl, he's NEVER been portrayed as the same size as a human.

People must realize something about Smash Bros.:

As long as it's a Nintendo character, there's no "too" that can stop it from being playable.

Also, you forgot to say the Villager is TOO PEACEFUL

You know, you're all right. I forgot they shrank Mario from his NES sprite AND the Super Mario Bros. Super Show where he's portrayed in the third dimension as the standard height of a person.

Not to mention he's supposed to be as tall as Samus and Bowser and Ridley apparently.

Yeah, but Pikachu is suppose to be only 1'04, yet reaches up to his claws. Even characters who share universes have size differences: In most games preceding Brawl, Kirby was the size of Dedede's head, but in Brawl, they went with the SNES's Kirby's Dreamland 3 size, where Kirby was slightly smaller than his stomach.

I said it once, and I'll say it again: it's a videogame, so it doesn't have to follow logic. Otherwise, Kirby would be way OP with a 1-hit KO available any time, fighters could not see Mr. Game and Watch, and Squirtile would not drown.

The pic basically means that size in video games is constantly changing.

So there really is no too big.

And how is it so hard to get that every game ever is designed with purpose in mind? If characters in Smash were represented accurately, it would get in the way of a good game. All characters are balanced appropriately, as well as sized appropriately. This is not something special to Ridley. It's innate to the design of the game. Ridley has never NEEDED to be small, because he's always been a boss. If Ridley were playable, he would be smaller by necessity.
