Dat Golden-status wall of text by Kuma man...
I wanted to give him a lot of material to work with. The game may teach you the controls, but they don't teach you the important stuff.

Also, Thunderfang, I strongly recommend using ghost mode. AI is actually pretty decent, but like Brawl's Level 9 CPU, it can read your inputs at higher ranks, but this does make you think of other ways you'll have to keep pressure.

Sakurai needs to take a cue from injustice and have obstacles be activated by characters
That would actually be a pretty cool idea. This way, you have more strategic use of items.

Truth be told, Charizard isn't that big either (it's like 5'5, 120 lbs). Then again, the main characters are usually small Japanese 10 year olds who probably weigh like 60 pounds...

...but that STILL doesn't explain how a Pidgey can use the HM move Fly like an HM. I mean, a Pidgeotto I get, but c'mon! They should be more realistic in that regard. That or it should fling you from one city to the next, and catch you before you fall and die!

Or maybe, I dunno, actually have planes (without ten hours of airport security to go through). :rotfl:

Now that I think about it, the Pokémon Company and Game Freak might actually use planes to go to other regions...

I mean, we're finally getting cars that NPC's have, so why not=??? Speaking of which, I TOTALLY want a Poké Driver's License!!! :chuckle:
How the heck can charizard be taller than me but weigh less

I think the Pokemon closest to my PHYSICAL MEASUREMENTS is Golduck? I'm about an inch or so taller but a little more than 20 pounds lighter.

The closest to my height and weight is embarrassingly slowbro

though I am taller and weigh a little less

Either him or Bisharp

Bisharp might be closer, but I haven't weighed myself in a while.

I think I'm just a bit heavier and a bit taller

Apparently the pokemon closest to my size is Garchomp.

It's my weight AND my height.

I feel kinda badass.

Alakazam
Gengar
Blastoise
Some other for HMs, but not that i actually used anything except Alakazam.

Johnknight. I don't know exactly how to say this, but...we're the exact same height and weight!

But yeah, Poison could really use a Buff. I always thought it should be Super Effective against Water, because pollution and stuff.

Swap the pokemon trainer's evolve states around.
Example, ivysaur will be bulbasaur in smash 4
Charizard will be charmeleon, and squirtle will be blastoize.

The radiation type sounds cool but there's no way a japanese software house would make it. Not Nintendo/Game Freak anyway.
I always wanted a gum type. Resist electricity, weak against fire, fighting types don't hurt them much (because fists bounce lol), etc...

And why wouldn't they?

Like a Fire/Poison type? Mite be cool.
Sounds like a pretty bad combination.

Poison is a redundant typing when paired with Fire, and then there's that nasty weakness to Ground type attacks. Though, a resistance to Fighting and the niche of absorbing Toxic Spikes might have it's uses.

Your point? Samus getting an alternate form that switches through Final Smash (which are optional) is not comparable to turning a standalone character like Pikachu into nothing more than a rehash of Pokémon Trainer's gimmick and using his less popular evolution and pre-evolution to do so.
You you still didn't read about my 'Pikachu is still selectable on it's own' part? Great headstart already :smirk:

I'd also argue Pichu and Raichu are way more popular and well known than Zero Suit Samus ever was. Besides, it's not even a rehash as said before, as the evolution system isn't based on switiching with Down B.

I love how you use rehashing so casually btw. Wanna know some actual rehashes?

Dr.Mario. - blandest, least unique clone Smash had in history (yes, that's counting Luigi in SSB64)
Waluigi. - worst imaginable filler rehash character created with single exception of... Ohh wait sorry, nothing.
Wreck-It-Ralph. - Shameless Donkey Kong arcade rehash you somehow find worthy of being included in Smash

Grammatically, you're either saying both are rip-offs or neither are rip-offs. English. Do you speak it?
Aside from that, a 3 stage Trainer that just so happens to use Pikachu's evolutionary line instead of starters is a frigging rip-off of the Trainer we already have.
Unless Wreck-It Ralph has been tossing barrels at Fix-It Felix as he tries to reach his girlfriend at the top of an abandoned construction site in his spare time, he's not a DK rip-off. (And your reasoning for him being one in the Ralph thread was pulling at straws and has been completely debunked anyway, so I fail to see how you can still make that claim unless you're really that biased. :/)
Ah feeling superior again due to someone else's minor mistakes. Always feels refreshing talking to you man.

I fail to see how it's a Pokémon Trainer rip-off still. Last time I checked, Squirle doesn't evolve into Ivysaur, and Ivysaur doesn't evolve into Charizard.

Any no brainer can see how Wreck-It-Ralph is based of Donkey Kong.

Evolution gimmick? I'm not talking that gimmick. I'm talking your original concept before you changed it to an evolution gimmick to try and save face.
Aside from that, combining multiple different gimmicks together doesn't make it a unique gimmick; it just makes a cluster**** of gimmicks.

I always introduced the idea as an evolution gimmick. :smirk: Try and undermine me on different bases next time.

Pichu turning into a lethal joke character as opposed to a terrible joke character is a good thing. Nobody likes Lucario's Aura gimmick either, so this gives a good replacement of sorts. And is about the only legit way Pichu deserves a return.

Underlined is a lie. Your original concept (the one I was criticizing in the first place) was to turn Pikachu into a "Pikachu Trainer" that used each line of the Pikachu family. You probably don't remember (or you forced yourself not to remember), but that was way back in the old SSB4 thread.
Ideas go through stages. It's like critising a movie for it's trailer only.

Potential fighting style that actually makes use of Dr. Mario being a doctor > nothing Pikachu can't already do aside from Hyper Beam, Giga Impact, and Focus Blast (and even then, Giga Impact can just be Raichu's version of Skull Bash)
It's very easy to imagine some interessting concept with Pichu -> Pikachu -> Raichu.

For example B: Pichu: Thunder Wave. Pikachu: Thunder jolt / Thunderschock Raichu: Thunderbolt (chargable and all)
Side B: Pichu: Attract: Pikachu: Iron Tail Raichu: Skull Bash
Up B: Variations of Quick Attack or Agility

As for the rest, they could heavily inspire Raichu on Pikachu's N64 fighting style. And Luigify Pichu in some other ways.

Sorry, next time I'll dumb it down so people like you can actually understand what is being said instead of seeing nothing but gibberish. Maybe I should puff one right before so I get an understanding of the target audience. :troll:

Goku in Smash

Not gibberish.

Keep doing your thing playboy.

It's a unique typing, sure as hell beats Fire/Fighting for the umpteenth time.

Also, the weakness to Ground can be counteracted with high Def. Pokemon are made strong by their stats, not so much by their typing. Look at Tyranitar for example.

I declare the next Dragonite/Tyranitar/Salamance archetype Pokemon be a Fire/Poison Radioactive Pokemon, that'd be sweet.

I think everyone is afraid of radiation.
Why is that? When you get exposed to enough radiation you gain super powers. Ether that, or become an abomination that's coated in cancerous tumors. It's a gamble, but hey the chance for super powers might sound cool.

Is that a Digimon?
Anyway, I just thought that radiation after the recent events is not really comfortable for Japanese. Especially if Nintendo would make it.
Yeah, that's a Digimon, I think the Guilmon line was a Nuclear typed Virus Digimon.

I thought you were referring to Hiroshima and Nagasaki, not Fukushima.

Hmm, I don't think Fukushima would be an obstacle for making a Radiation monster, I mean, sure it was a disaster, but think about it, Surf is a giant tidal wave, and Japan has been getting Tsunamis for ages. Also, Earthquake exists as a Pokemon move.

Anyway, the Fox starter better end up as a Fire/Ghost Kitsune similar to what Ninetails should have been.

I think a Fire-Water type that is based on something Steam related would be cool, or a crazy Grass-Fire jack-o-lantern could be cool. We have a Water-Grass type, so I think Fire-Water and Grass-Fire could be pretty cool to eventually see.

Just to be clear I'm definitely not against it nor I think it would be of bad taste to have a radiation-type.
But Nintendo, c'mon, can you guys imagine them making it? I can't.
It's a good point though, the surf/earthquake one. I didn't think about it.

Anyway, we're stuck with fairies this gen lol.

If the rumor is to be believed, Fennekin's final evolution is actually Fire-Psychic, which is at least better than Fighting again...

There better be a Sound type to accompany the Fairy types as well.

Bleh, not sure if want, but it sure beats Fire/Fighting again, or just Fire solo.

Fire/Psy should have been Infernape's typing. Like a Zen monkey. And the Pig should have been Fire/Ground.

The fire/water pokémon will be a sink. Right knob spills lava, left knob spills cold water.

I like to imagine a radiation legendary Pokemon, blindly trying to be discovered by two villainous teams (back to a R/S/E type story I guess). They each take residence in neighboring cities, and each get taken out by its destructive power. Your battle with this Pokemon takes place in the cinders of a ruined city.

Then, WHATEVER, everything is okay again because of Pokemon tears.

If a radiation type actually gets done, the first legendary should be Godzilla.
Not a Godzilla-like pokémon, actual ****ing Godzilla.

Apparently, if it's true, then we'll get the Killer-of-Dragons Fairy type, and the starters would be Fire-Psychic, Water-Fighting, and Grass-Dark at their final stages.
If you're curious on the lesser-known newer parts of the supposed leak, here they are.

  • Pancham evolves into Pangoro in the early level 30s. In order to evolve Pancham into Pangoro, you need to have one other Dark-type Pokemon in your party. Pangoro's type is Fighting/Dark.
  • A Pokemon named Inkay evolves into Malimar. To evolve it, you have to hold your 3DS upside-down when it levels up (the 3DS has an accelerometer and gyroscope, so it can detect that). Malimar's type is Dark/Psychic.
  • A Psychic-type Pokemon named Espurr (ESP + purr) evolves into Meowstick (Meow + mystic?). (Sounds like Psychic-type cats. Meowstick's name sounds too similar to Meowth to me though.)
  • Like in B/W you have two rivals - one is friendly and the other is competitive. Your rival that is more friendly gives you his/her fully evolved starter Pokemon after you beat the game.
  • Another professor named Sycamore gives you either Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle.
  • Even though it shows the player riding on a Gogoat in the new trailer, players can't ride on their own Pokemon. What was shown is just an alternate way of getting around Lumiose City and it only works with Gogoat.
  • HMs still exist but there's a lot less of them.
  • Players will be able to see their Pokemon's EVs (probably through the same in-game facility mentioned in the other post).
  • A new move, Belch, is a Poison-type attack that has a base power of 120. The user must consume a held Berry to perform it.
  • Draining Kiss is a Fairy-type attack that heals the user for the same amount of damage performed. It has a base power of 60.
  • If the previously revealed forme of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly similar to Mewtwo's original design, the second supposed form of Mewtwo can be said to look roughly/vaguely similar to Mew's design.
  • In case you missed our correction the other day, the Starters' final evolutions are Fire/Psychic, Grass/Dark, and Water/Fighting.

Infernape fits Fire / Fighting really well. Emboar just took it too far.
