The only character I really suck as is... Jigglypuff.

It's the only time when playing with random characters where I have a higher chance of losing.

G&W, King Dedede and Kirby are all relatively good characters in Brawl however. Yoshi will forever suck I'm affraid.

Yoshi sucking! Come on man, Yoshi's one of the best characters out there!

And Yoshi doesn't have to suck forever! I don't know why, but I really like Yoshi, and I was a bit disappointed with him in Brawl.

As a Yoshi Main I can say for a fact that his recover is loads better than what it was in Melee or 64. Thought that isn't saying much. However, in terms of egg throwing freedom it is the most gimped in Brawl.
I just hope Yoshi get's the pros of bothe Melee and Brawl and gain tether recovery with tongue
His shield need to be better though, but Yoshi doesn't suck. (Leave my baby alone)

I'm sorry to say, but Yoshi needs work. I don't mean to say he really 'sucks', I like Yoshi. If I wanna play fun matches, I take Yoshi. He's fun, just not very competitively viable.

If the general public dares to call Mewtwo sucky, and when compared, Yoshi ranks lower than Mewtwo in all Smash games, we can KINDA conclude that Yoshi, isn't the greatest of Smash characters either.

Yes, a throwback to that trailer would be an ideal way to go. Also, the cinematic used in that trailer was to highlight the graphical jump from the Nintendo 64 to the Gamecube. I expect something similar to highlight the HD capabilities of the Wii U.

And the FLUDD isn't a gimmick. It's one move out of his entire moveset. Does that mean Squirtle's Water Gun is a gimmick?

In reality Yoshi is more of a friendlies casual play character like Ganon. If i ever get my @ss handed to me i usually go or . But that never happens

I agree with dang near everything you said. Making the heavies better in diverse ways is the way to go.

I think reducing the priority range will change up a lot of things without actually having to go change the characters. I still think that part of the solution in a balanced mix is to add one or two more attack buttons.

Lately, I've been wondering if the use of analog inputs has been counter intuitive for people.

when he does his up throw you can quickly do up b again and have his tongue look onto the egg, bringing him to the egg (I would also like for him to be able to grab an egged enemy)

And I have seen vids of this dude Deltacod who is pretty nasty himself in brawl. So I do know yoshi has the potential to be pretty good.
I just feel like Yoshi is mostly overlooked due to his glaring flaws, but if you know how to position yourself to prevent putting yourself in certain situations, he can be pretty decent.

Yoshi really does have a lot of strong points. A good projectile, one of the better recoveries in the game, very strong air normals like his sex-kick, spike, and the high damaging flutter kick, and he can easily combo into the sweetspot of his down special for a KO. His side special is horrifyingly bad, but you just pretend it isn't in his moveset and never use it. XD

I agree, even if you compare it to Melee's reveal it is still amazing in its own right. I remember when I first saw it, I made a smashboards account on the spot to talk about it.

Oh no, the Melee reveal was great, it just wasn't as good cinematography-wise or in terms of unpredictability. With the Brawl reveal, we didn't think it was coming, and the way it was presented was fresh, unique, and made it look like it was just the beginning.

I will say that the Melee opening is better than the Brawl trailer to watch, though. They should get some random Nintendo department to make the Smash Wii U and 3DS opening, and make it super HD HD HD CGI HD 3D HD.

I can understand this, and would do the same. You pay money for games in order to acquire a certain quality and quantity of an experience to be given to you in return, and the value of SSB4 will easily be worth more than what I paid for to the point that dropping more cash to get even more content makes complete sense to me.

I think Brawl is a bad game for me to play, because I find it competitively boring and limited and I only want to play it in a competitive, high-octane, and high-level manner (even if I'm doing casual crap), but I would still pay $50 a character for Brawl, because the mods and hacks make that game amazing, and that roster is amazing.

No really, just stop, think about, and look at the Brawl roster. It's literally something to behold. It's easily the best roster in any game ever. The incredible roster we have, along with the simple but incredibly deep gameplay of smash is something that we all take for granted so much, but it's pretty ridiculous to think about how great it all is.

No really, just stop, think about, and look at the Brawl roster. It's literally something to behold. It's easily the best roster in any game ever. The incredible roster we have, along with the simple but incredibly deep gameplay of smash is something that we all take for granted so much, but it's pretty ridiculous to think about how great it all is.

Us talking about Brawl reminds me what Croph said, and I still think we should get everyone here together to play sometime, even if I won't do very good. Put everyone in groups of four and play some matches, then jumble everyone up so we can play everyone a little. :3 We can even do teams and unite under our Battle Royale pairings to see which one does best.

If it had Mewtwo IMO that roster would be near perfect. Add in K. Rool, Dixie Kong, Ridley, and Mega Man, and that roster is fat with great characters. Considering we are likely to get most if not all of that plus many more character, that's a recipe for a once in a generation roster.

I knew a guy who was a top 5 or so Samus player for a long time...

...and I beat him quite often!

I also used to play online with like 4 guys who at various points were top 10 Wario players, and I used to practice before tournaments with a few other real high level Wario players.

Seriously, I was a Wario player magnet. I can't even tell you how many times I got farted on! Embarrass

Play Tekken or Guilty Gear. The former will really make you learn your fundamentals.
