Double Dash is so underrated. :(
I know man. That game was one of the first GC games I got, and my sister and I had a blast with it. My roomate actually brought his GC and DD to our dorm last year, and we had a ton of fun with that sh*t.

Time for some more GameFAQs stupidity:

King K. Rool is almost the Waluigi of the DKverse, all he really has going for him at this point is fan popularity. Admittedly he has more of that than Waluigi, and less competition in his series than Waluigi...but I really think his chances are overblown more than anyone else at GameFAQs. That said, I suppose he is the most likely DK newcomer (just barely ahead of Dixie since he's a primary villain), but I subscribe to the train of thought that there won't be a DK newcomer at all. Nintendo and Retro have basically all but said that they don't think K. Rool is vital to his own series by completely shutting him out of DKCR and its 3D port.

My thoughts in order of likelihood:

No newcomers >>>>>>>>>>> K. Rool > Dixie Kong >>>> Cranky Kong >>>>>>>>>>> everyone else

At least this post was comprehensible.

However...

Tiny Kong has more support than Cranky Kong, Lanky Kong, and Donkey Kong Jr. combined.

Heck yeah buddy! DD was teh business. 7 is a close runner up imo.

Still waiting for Super Mario 128.
During the GDC 2007, Miyamoto mentioned that Super Mario 128 was merely a demonstration to illustrate the power of the GameCube. He also stated that most of the elements of Super Mario 128 were incorporated into Pikmin, in that the player controlled a large number of characters on screen. Other elements such as walking on 3D spheres are seen in Super Mario Galaxy.

I feel sorta now that Lloyd's chances went straight to zero today, since Symphonia gets a remake exclusively on PS3.

I don't know if it poses well to advertise that game on SSB so Nintendo watches the gamers flock getting the PS3-release when there's no Wii U-port in sight...

Ah well, I guess it was that time's breeze, but I think I gotta move on before I disappoint myself even more.

The three games that Nintendo has had that were similar to Duke Nukem Forever were:

Mother 3 (announced in 1996, released in 2006)
Kirby's Return to Dream Land (announced in 2005, released in 2011)
Pikmin 3 (announced in 2008, released in 2013)

Just like how Snake could not be in Brawl because the only MGS game on the horizon at the time was MSG4, right?

I don't think third-parties or Sakurai cares if third-party characters are advertising software on Nintendo's rivals' consoles.

You mean want, we want those games.

One thing for sure is that the next Mario game and Mario Kart are just going to be the same rehashed garbage again. Not thrilling at all. I seriously hope you people don't get suckered into that.
Hey as long as I enjoy the game, and in the case of 3D Marios and Mario Karts I definitely do, I can live with being called a sucker.

Why the PS3 when the PS4 is coming out soon=??? Or heck, the WiiU seems better fit for Tales of Symphonia.

Still, that probably doesn't effect Lloyd's chances. Tales of Symphonia already got ported to the PS2 (in Japan only), and Sakurai doesn't really care if 3rd party companies make games for other consoles. Besides that, Pac-Man was always Namco Bandai's mascot, so he probably has first rights.
Still waiting for Super Mario 128.
Still waiting for an actual Paper Mario game for about 8 years. Super Paper Mario was fun, but it wasn't an all-out Paper Mario game, and from what I've seen and heard about Sticker Star, that game is a gigantic letdown, and is totally bland.

My most favorite Mario Kart is Mario Kart DS. Mario Kart Wii is good but hard to enjoy due to it being poorly, POORLY balanced on items. Mario Kart 7 is great too but it's hard to continue playing due to it being very bare bone on content. Another one of my favorite Mario Karts is Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 (I'm playing it on an emulator and it runs flawlessly).

Now I'm waiting for the Wii U game and I'm praying the upcoming Mario Kart Arcade GP DX will be put on the Wii U eShop.

I still say Cress would be appropriate anyway.

Also pointing out that GameFAQs is dumb is like pointing out that water is wet.

I still need to get Mario DS; I haven't played too much of that game. As for my favorite Mario Kart game, I gotta go with 64. I own at that battle mode. Recently I played it with 3 friends, and I went 16-0, bossing everyone with my wicked green shell aim, my great defensive-based style, and my awesome driving skills. :shades:
I have a feeling that Smash 4 won't be unveiled for that hour long Nintendo Direct on June 11. I think Smash 4 will be getting its own Nintendo Direct later that week. As Sakurai has said before, he is going to have us wait just a bit longer.

Sakurai: *laughs :troll:

Brawl was not unveiled at the same time as the rest of the Wii's lineup at E3 2006, so I am a bit skeptical as to whether Smash 4 will be there at the same time as the other software, especially considering there is a lot more to talk about in relation to Smash 4.

Its going to be amusing this thread's (and especially other places) reaction if Smash 4 is not shown during that Nintendo Direct.
I think Sakurai is gonna save some stuff for later, whether another Nintendo Direct soon, E3, or something down later in the year (like he did with the 2nd Brawl trailer). BTW, the Brawl Main Theme remix in the second Brawl trailer was awesome, but it's sadly not in the game. Seriously, why even make the song if you're not gonna put it in the game=???

If a Namco character is not confirmed in 1.5 weeks time, I doubt there will be one for Smash 4 in general. I think the same also goes for any third-party characters not named Mega Man, in that their chances will be dismal if they fail to show up for E3 2013.

I still believe Namco will push Pac-man as a rep if they can help it.
Especially when they are marking this year as ''The Return of Pac-man''

They are going to want all the buzz they can get. For their TV show and game (which looks terrible) .

I like to believe Sakurai sits in his office dreading the day a Namco man walks saying "We'd like to ask you something..."

Why does everyone automatically assume were getting Pac-man?
He's the most iconic Namco character. He might not be the most exciting or currently relevant character in their franchise stable but if Namco has a face it's Pac-Man.

EDIT: I don't assume we're getting Pac-man (even if we are), btw.

Other than the fact that he once was a gaming legend? Well, because from a businessmen standpoint, putting Pac-man in smash will help generate buzz for the content that he is staring in.

When kids see his TV commercial on Disney XD for his show and game, they will most likely say to themselves "Hey isn't that the guy from that new super smash bros game?"

I mean if he made it in the Mario Kart Arcade game that Nintendo and Namco worked on. Idk why it would be so odd to imagine him joining a smash bros game that once again Nintendo and Namco are together working on

Dude. I originally glanced over the first sentence where you said it was from GameFAQs and I was like "The ****? Why is Chrono going full ******?" But anyways, people from GameFAQs are really super logical. It's quite impressive.

What!? seriously??? Mario Kart: Double Dash is by far the best Mario Kart game i have played. But i agree the Wii one was pretty boring.
Not only is Double Dash the best Mario Kart game by far, it's probably one of my favorite video games ever. In my opinion, it perfected the racing genre. I also thought the Wii one was terrible. I may have played it for half a weekend, when I played Double Dash for years.

Hahahaha. Oh man. I've been laughing at this for like 5 minutes. I bet this is so true.

For me, Double Dash and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed is the best racers. Mario Kart Double Dash was very unique, fun, and had the best items. I played the hell out of it more than any Mario Kart game that I owned. Transformed is pretty much the best Sega/Sonic related racer in terms of solid gameplay, beautiful level design, the fact that the tracks changes within each lap, and that difficulty (I'm almost 100% done after 7 months). The best part was free DLC. The only downside is the glitches, though they were fixed over time.

I want Pac-Man. However, i feel like the Tales of franchise will be getting the spot.

Also, i don't get why people think we wouldn't get a Namco rep if they're not confirmed in the trailer. They could easily be confirmed on another Nintendo Direct or jsut be tossed on a Dojo Update.

If there is one thing that I want from this new Mario Kart game it's character specific power-ups. Apart from weight class categories there isn't much that set characters apart.
I would love THAT and the vehicle customization that was present in MK7. Hell if they they even throw in the tag-team mechanic from DD That would be the recipe for one of the best Mario Kart games imho.

He would probably just laugh at them.

Or maybe tell them to go back to doing the job they were hired for and stop getting out of line to suggest characters from their shoddy pool of choices. Laugh at them and then say that? Yeah that's what sounds best.

I actually kinda hope he does that. Just let them do the job they were originally hired for to do. Balancing the game and not use it as a ploy to shove their characters into the game. Please don't kill me for saying that, those who do want to see a Namco character in smash. They just don't appeal to me, of course I would just deal with it if they did make it in though.

Was that the wind I just heard? Oh my window is open. Uno momemto.

I gotta disagree; an early confirmation of a 3rd party IMO makes the least sense. The "will they/won't they" drama also attracts a lot more hype/attention.

Miyamoto said if he wanted a character in smash, they're in, and he's said numerous times that Pac-Man is his favorite video game character, so...
