Open borders would be a beautiful thing but in the mean time the US has agreements with Canada and Mexico to allow people who are willing to undergo an extensive background check to enter a trusted traveler program which cuts down border wait times down to less than 15 minutes. The Nexus program operates in the Canadian border and the Sentri program (which is a lifesaver on the weekends) operates on the Mexican border.
Still doesn't prevent the Mexican government officials from being jerks who try to jack your stuff by intimidating you. No really, just last year a few Mexican police officers and basically their FBI-equivalent tried to openly rob like 4 or 5 few people about an hours' walk from the border... only to find out they were all former mixed martial arts world champions just before the sleeves were about to be rolled up.

Also, when did a government program actually get done on time=???
I really would like to see open borders all over the world in my lifetime. The planet should get it's **** together damn it.
But first we'd have to fix America and Americans from being paranoid as balls, North Korea would have to change (including their leader, aka the kid from UP), China would need to change, countries like Mexico, Russia, and Italy would have to be less corrupt, anti-homosexual laws (in many countries where being attracted to the same sex is illegal, often it is a common cultural thing for men to hold hands), anti-women laws, anti-religious restrictions laws, anti-woman's right laws, anti-freedom laws, socialism, and communism would need to die, all nuclear weapons would have to be destroyed, and oh yeah, every country would not have the need to invade other countries, and we'd realize hey "we're all homies."
> Implying France is an alright place to be in right now. :awesome:
78% tax rate is nuts (it used to be 82%, but they lowered it). They got brain drain like crazy bro. Quebec couldn't possibly be as intolerant to tourists as France.
I've developed an interest in regions pushing for secession over the years. Dunno why. And yes, Quebec does look very pretty.
I wonder if Quebec would stay an independent country if it succeeded, if it would lead to a Canadian rebellion, or if it would try to join America.

Honestly, I think the demos should be available to download on the eShop after the Best Buy event ends.
Especially since Best Buy keeps getting closer to closer to bankruptcy, and several stores have been shut down recently. And seriously, how does Tracy even have a Best Buy=???

Oh, and another fun fact about Stockton (the city next to Tracy): the city government is actually bankrupt!

Wow, and I thought some European countries (mainly Portugal, Spain, Ireland and Greece) were bad, but that city takes the cake! (O_O);

I wouldn't dare to imagine what might be living in a city like that... :urg:

It was poor financial planning, and putting way too much money into trying to make your city look nice rather than slowly making it nice. Part of that is because around 1/4th of the homes in Stockton have had evictions, and a huge portion of the Stockton people don't even pay taxes because they have little to no income.

And also, that city is filled with terrible white wanna be gangsters that are actual gangsters are EVERYWHERE!!! (and I'm white so I can say that!)

Also, it's a drug haven. Drug cartels from Mexico, Canada, Seattle, Portland, Oakland, San Francisco, Arizona, etc (including even some Asian countries) all tend to meet and exchange hands around the area.

On top of that, the area gets a lot of the Bay Area pollution (thank God it's not Modesto getting all the greater LA/San Diego/Anaheim area bad), which, although the Bay Area is very environmentally conscious is still pretty bad.

The only reason decent folks live there is because it's generally the cheapest housing in the Bay Area, which of course the financial woes made them desperate, and instead of moving to cheaper locations, they do less than legal acts or get evicted.

Detroit is actually taking a shot at making tourist money by taking people to old abandoned churches, neighborhoods, theaters, libraries and all sorts of run down buildings for photo shoots and tv/movie productions. They even have climbing, parkour and exploration tours of old buildings around the city, lol.

Many American States are in a similar state as European countries. And China practically owns all of the USA's federal debt so yeah...

Wow, that's pretty... weird. I've never seen that before.
Many American States are in a similar state as European countries. And China practically owns all of the USA's federal debt so yeah...
1. It's usually the high income states.
2. It's usually bad financial/resource management that can be fixed (California can be fixed so easily, but no, Arnold had to have his affair).
3. China owns most of the PUBLIC debt; most of the actual debt is private, which is owned mostly by US citizens.
4. Detroit's issues are stemmed from the fact it was too reliant on one industry, and because of that, most of the people have left the city. It's not that unusual of a story if you look at it from a historical sense. However, that doesn't make its' story any better.
5. Stockton, meanwhile, is in no man's land; up north is farms and a few tech jobs, while down south/east is a ton of jobs of all kinds of fields in probably the most prosperous area in the entire United States. It's an unusual story because:
a. Stockton is literally right next to one of the best economic areas in the world.
b. Most high crime areas in California for whatever reason usually are nearly entirely demographically Latin and African-American; both of those racial demographics are significantly lower in Stockton than most of the Bay Area.
c. Stockton is next to some of the richest towns in the world in Livermore (where I live) and Pleasanton.
d. Stockton is supposedly an agricultural town, and quite frankly, farmers make ridiculous money in California.

so i was just looking over the states that will have the Nintendo/E3 games of Best Buys, and i feel sorry for people who live in southern california... the closest location is culver city, everything else is by san francisco which is like 7 hours away.
I'm lucky to be going to E3, i wouldn't want to treck the distance to culver city.

There's a participating Best Buy a couple minutes away from me. Life is good.

In appreciation of this, I think I will instead insult everyone else and just not go.

Worst of all, one of the two only Bay Area locations is in freaking nowhere vile.

But hey, at least the one is in San Jose, and that city is beautiful, awesome, and really nice. I can't wait to finally transfer there (and get my dang BS).

Edit, if you love Rare back when Rare was king of the video game world, you'll love this!!!

Whether you can resist the temptation remains to be seen. :troll:
Isn't it like just a few hours on one day? Even if Smash WERE TO BE actually there I'm not sure it'd be worth the hassle. Though ARKANSAS doesn't tend to have very large lines for these types of things.

Unless Nintendo reveals Super Pig Farmer Bros.

If there is a smash bros demo august, you can come up North to NorCal and play it at San Jose with me at the Best Buy! :troll:

And since N3ON and Psycho can't figure out where Seattle is, they're invited too in the off chance of that happening I guess!

I heard that ebay in Germany are promoting the WiiU a lot more given the recent Xbox1 news.
Yep, you heard from yours truly. :p

I've just read in Eurogamer that German eBay is promoting the Wii U for not having forced online nor blocking the use of used games unlike Xbox One. This is after Wii U sales rose 875% on Amazon UK.

Xbox One has been criticized by the German and Australian governments due to the Kinect accessory being forced to be on and constantly retrieving data, which was considered as an invasion of privacy.

Source (in Portuguese)
Even country governments condemn this spyware console-wannabe (or spyware-wannabe console or spyware-wannabe console-wannabe).

Old post, but I need it needs to be responded to.
I must make a confession: I'm a closet Goku supporter. Even though I know it will never happen, the only Namco IP apart from Digimon that would excite me more is Dragonball. I'm so ashamed that the only Namco-Bandai IP's that excite me are all anime's.
I don't see why anyone should be ashamed of wanting characters, regardless of whenever or not they're eligible and realistic.

Wanting characters shouldn't be dictated based on "deserving" but because you like the character. The reason why I support Mega Man so intensely is not because I consider him "deserving" but because I like the character for who he is and nothing will take that away from me.

If you want to know, I also have Astro Boy and Kid Goku on my wishlist for character, but that's because I like them as character and would enjoy playing as them, regardless of eligibility. Wanting character is nothing to be ashamed about.

Unless you want Chrom, of course, According to Habanero, you're a bad person if you want Chrom.
But I agree, that's why I support Bulbasaur, Lucina, and Toon Ganondorf, exactly.

On the friendzone talk, I said I could have gone on more with it, but didn't. Anyway, all that needed to be said has been said. I pretty much would have added everything you guys did. Take note I DID say REAL friendship, not sappy loser trying be nice to a girl hoping to get in her pants and girl trying to be nice to the guy because she can't just tell him to **** off, and yeah, I get to be a duck about it as I've been there, many many years back.

Having female friends is the best, they're actually more rational than bros. I actually have more friends who are girls than guys.

One thing I do have to say though is that I don't regret any of my past experiences one bit, it was thanks to those that I've been molded into the man I am today.

I used to go up to Seattle all the time. I probably could've gotten my ex to take me to the demos, if I was still with him >.<

Though I'd say that females get along better with me than guys like you, I have to say that my experience has told me gender doesn't really weigh in on how rational the individual is. In fact, by and large, boys and girls are pretty irrational. One rampant with testosterone filled idiocy, the other rampant with estrogen filled idiocy.

Really I only get along better with girls because I'm rather subdued and females tend to reach out more than guys, from my experience. That, and around here in Alabama, most guys talk about sports, hunting, girls, and other topics that someone more introverted like me couldn't really be all that interested in. XP

Hmm, well it depends on the age I guess, and the social circles. Most dudes my age are going around competing with each other trying to see who can get laid the most. Most girls my age, tend to talk about different things, and share their hobbies with you. They're just generally more mature. Here in Spain, I only have like 2 friends who are dudes who are my age, and one of them is Irish, the rest are either much older than me (like 30 or 40) or girls.

Granted all of my close and intimate friends are guys. I've tried to have a close friendship with a girl before, but it's generally not a good idea, at least not if you wanna have just a friend. If you're looking for a girlfriend though, then by all means.

Okay, so I decided I kind of want to start on the SSB4 Spec. Novelization, but I just need some clarifications on some things.

[Collapse=Details]

-Okay, so I think the basic run down of the storyline could go something like this:

All is originally calm in this land, in which the residents call the "Smash Boards," for reasons that are of cryptic origin. Generally, residents of this place tend to get along at first. Some friendships are forged, and rivalries cemented into the fabric of the secluded society. Seeing as the people of this place enjoy "games" that involve a lot of fighting, tournaments are occasionally held to hone these fighters' skills. Due to the constant combat practice, many, if not all, of the residents of the Boards have a certain special skill. If anyone got too far out of line, good old Mario and Sonic Guy would lay down his giant hammer and settle things.

...But then, disaster struck. Some outside source of calamity was seemingly instinctively drawn to the Boards, causing many different problems, ranging from an annoying nuisance to outright disasters. The sheer insanity of these creatures was seemingly contagious. More and more residents of the Boards were "infected" by this pandemic, and no one was truly safe anymore. What were once great friendships became cases of utmost hatred. Some of the "Boarders" turned on their old friends, and aided the progress of the new-found conquerors.

In the end, very few alliances are kept, and pretty much everyone is in this cosmic "game," of sorts, for themselves. They all have their own reasons for carrying on. Some wish to prove themselves worthy of their powers, some wish to grasp the true meaning of Christmas this foul living that had succeeded their former life, and others just wish to survive in time to see Smash 4 get a trailer. Now that the characters have been chosen, and the stage selected, it's time to Smash.

[/Collapse]

So yeah. Tell me what you think. Some PMs on things like character info or scenery ideas would be appreciated.

I think you could detail about how Smash 4's trailer would only be the beginning of all the drama that is to occur.

Because yes, drama will soon happen.

If this ever gets a sequel, we should have to defeat the Smash characters that intend to hunt us down for killing Sakurai. Or the trailer is revealed, and an even greater army of trolls is revealed. Then, of course, the third entry could be the game is released and the "tires don exits' and butthurt fanboys rise, with Sakurai as their leader.
But then, I'm probably getting way ahead of myself.
Anyways, I like it, a lot. I could help a bit if you want, but admittedly I'm not too good with making these things.

No, you get visuals. That's one more thing than you get from the Xbox NONE!!!

As for your friendzone talk

I would never want to date any of my female friends if I was single. For one, most of them are lesbians. And second off, most of them are kinda controlling. Third off, most of them are way too into relationships. Fourth off, I don't want to put my effort into something that I deem unnecessary or taking up time of more important things (school [aka my obsession; literally I am using your guys' posts to help me memorize stuff for a final; granted, I only need a 40% on it to get an A in the class]), building towards my future career, family, work, advancing myself, my previous commitments, my friends), which is why I'm slow to come to decisions.

Gesh, reading that last one without listing what I'm busy with made me come across as real jerk, huh=???

Truth be told, my girlfriend and I are very work and school-centered, and honestly, that's for the betterment for both of us... until when THE END OF FRIDAY!!! :awesome:
