So I wanted to expand on an idea that I used to have. I really do think that there should be certain items (read as: Assist Trophies and a Poke Ball) that allow for a new "riding" mechanic.

Essentially, these "mount" characters would allow for better traction, faster movement, and a new attack. To dismount, press the B button. Pressing A will perform the mount's attack.

Some possible mounts:

Donkey Kong Country: Rambi - A charge attack
Pokemon X and Y: Gogoat - Horn Leech
Fire Emblem: Caeda (No, not like that. You'd ride on the back of her pegasus as she steers :D) - A lance charge by air.
Super Mario Galaxy 2: Fluzzard (Yoshi would be the obvious Mario Mount, but he's playable. - Talon attacks
Kirby's Return to Dreamland: Landia - Fire Breath
Legend of Zelda: Epona - A fierce horsey kick.

Just an idea. Feel free to bash it. Or add other ideas. Whichever one's fine.
I absolutely ****ing support this.
Especially Rambi has to appear as an item, it would be awesome.
Epona could be one of Link's final smashes.

Also Tricky how he appears in StarFox Assault could work. I can't find any pic but he's really big in that, much more than in Adventures.

I'd assume the riding mechanic could also work for vehicles like a Mario Kart, an F-Zero machine or an Exo Tank from Kid Icarus: Uprising?

And of course... THE LANDMASTER! :awesome:

Edit: My post number... is OVER 9000!!!

Lol, you just had to kill my fun didn't you??

@The Real Gamer

Well, keep in mind, like anything else, I was giving my opinion. I could go on a rant as to why SM64 and Sunshine are overall better experiences, and why exploration beats the more linear design of Galaxy 1 and 2, when it comes to the experience the game is supposed to be delivering, but in the end it would just dwindle down into the typical argument of My Tastes>Your Tastes.

What's wrong, cannot handle the racers going a gazillion miles per hour and exploding into walls?

Filthy casual.
Well maybe they could work like the Wario Bike during the final smash, but even faster.

By the way, I completed GX 100%. WHAT ABOUT THAT HOMIE

I like the idea actually. Hmm, some more ideas I'd like to see:

- A new "piggyback" mechanic that works in team battles or any co-op mode lol. Basically the player can be carried on their partner's back, preforming new moves that require teamwork. Actually, it would be cool if Mario and Luigi could somehow use the Bros. Attack moves in the Mario & Luigi series, like in team battles or story mode.

- Legend of Zelda: Crimson Loftwing - Takes flight in the air. Can preform Spiral Charges, a drill-like bash attack.

- Oh gosh, another one from Zelda: Ricky - The player rides in his pouch and can preform high jumps. Ricky can also deliver strong punches.

- Super Mario: Chain Chomp - Slow, heavy, but a powerful attacker.

Idk, I'm not good at these, that's all I can think of.

Assault it's... nice. It goes back to Starfox's roots, but it does it pretty blandly imho. Graphics are a huge step back from Adventures, the length of the game is around 4/5 hours tops. The walking parts were a nice idea actually, but badly implemented. The game itself felt rushed beyond believe. The cutscenes were really good though. For 20 bucks, it's worth it.
Adventures is a lot better anyway and the most underrated StarFox game ever. One of my favorite Gamecube games (Rare in da heart).

MOUNTABLES are a pretty good bet if you look at Uprising. Always felt Wario's bike was a sort of test for that in Smash.

Kuribo's Shoe (Goomba Boot WHATEVER) that causes spikes to whomever touches the bottom of it in the air, calling it.

I figured they'd also have obvious potential in any story mode as well. Hopping in an Arwing and such. Changes up the gameplay. Just a good idea all around.

Japanese people are completely nuts.

There's no TV show in any Western country that is comparable to Japanese TV shows.

Still, all they have announced is old news... does that mean we got this info BEFORE Japan?

Oh my God, never has there been a boss as annoyingly stupid as the Skyward Sword final boss. **** Demise, **** motion controls, and **** the combat in SS.

I missed the part where I was supposed the be having fun taking on a challenge, not be annoyed by how repetitive and stupid the final boss is.

Demise wasn't a big thing of a boss. Third time fighting Ghirahim was more challenging.
I'm not saying it was difficult, because it certainly wasn't. Once you figure out his bull****, it's a goddamn cakewalk.

You don't even fight him, you wail on him the first half counter-blocking when he decides to attack.

2nd half you stay away and spam skyward strikes, countering his attacks.

That's not final boss, that's ****ing bull****. Worst part is, getting to the point of realizing how stupid the fight is, is incredibly annoying. Like if you TRY to fight him like you would TP Ganon, it's just ****ing Simon Says the Boss Fight.

Agreed that Ghirahim was more fun, though the 3rd fight was ridiculously easy.

Ghirahim 1 and 2 were also bull**** though, you are at the mercy of how responsive the motion controls decide to be.

When I first played SS I found the first Girahiam encounter sooo hard. Once I got the hang of it, the hardest boss i faced since was the tad-tones.

And the occasional moblin that blocks like 9 hits in a row.

Is it bad that I died from Demise several times but beat 3rd form Ghirihem in only two tries?(1st time a glitch happened and Ghirihem just left me to die of starvation)
I died to Demise twice before realizing that you can steal his thunder strikes.

And once more before realizing you can do your own by avoiding him and holding the sword up. 4th time I beat him in like... 2 mins.

I didn't die to Ghirahim 3rd form, that fight is just easy.

Also, was I the only one creeped out by Fi whenever she tried to sing? ****'s nightmare fuel.

Tad-tones? That was easy.

The moblins and plants could get annoying at times, but the trick is to no Z-Target, then it's no longer simon says. Also, a well timed spin attack makes quick work of them if you don't Z-target.

Ghirahim 1st battle was kinda lame. I died to him the first try, because I had NO IDEA what the **** was happening. Especially once you get past the part where he can grab your sword.

That part is still lame, and incredibly annoying to fight, because like ALL combat in SS, it's a game of waiting and exploiting tells.

Jesus, the combat in SS is just plain annoying... How do we go from WANTING to get into fights in WW, to hating every moment you have your sword out in SS.
