As much as a I love Nintendo. I think they should try to focus solely on handhelds after the Wii-U. It seems to be their best area now and if they worked hard enough they could probably find a way to build a handheld with current gen console power. But that's just what I think they should they should do.

I personally hope they go back to actual controllers than touchscreens. The wiiu pad as a controller made my wallet skip a beat as I imagined the possibility of it breaking in any way.

Nintendo was golden once upon a time, and it was back when they had their heads screwed on tightly. Now they're just testing themselves to the point where I might just lose faith in them altogether.

Some things are just out of our control. If Nintendo goes down, which I kind of doubt because they're a bit of a juggernaut right now, at least we'll still have Valve.

All those Nintendo doomsayers are wrong. Just check out the 3DS's sales. It's true that the Wii U isn't doing so well, but the 3DS is continuously selling like crazy.

I've noticed on different forums that people are complaining that the new Nintendog definitely hits a level of uncanny valley that's new (and kind of disturbing) for a Nintendo game. Anyone else slightly weirded out by its realism?

Oh yea, extremely creepy.

No. I think it's cute. But then again i have a soft spot for puppies and kittens.
I do to, yet even I can't deny how creepy that dog looks. xD

Dogs are creepy in general, so I think Sakurai just did a good job, really.

You know what's interesting? It's a different dog from brawl. Different dogs may be shown per one assist trophy. That's pretty cool.

Wii U might have some interesting features here and there, but there hasn't been much reason to check for it at all since launch; hate to say it but it's the truth

that's pretty much the bottom line when it comes to its shortcomings, and that applies to both the gaming faithful and the casuals

I think it'll pick up though once the first-party games (besides Mario) drop along with those good price cuts; happened with the GameCube and the 3DS

Nintendo isn't going to go the Sega route (it was never that serious anyway), IMO only way Nintendo is going to be on top again though (if they want to, of course) is if they stop being hipsters lol

I bought 11 games since day one and I hope I'll be able to get a few more during the holidays. So no, it's not the truth.

Both the 3DS and Wii U are the kind of names that will cause parents tol almost always reply:
"Don't we already have one of those!?" when a child asks for one.

It just so happens that the 3DS didn't bite them in the ass as hard as the Wii U.

I mean jeez the marketing confusion:

Well, people being ignorant and misinformed doesn't help either. (I think dumb is another appropriate word.)

Well to be fair the marketing for the months leading up to the Wii U have been confusing. They didn't show the console at all, (it didn't help that console looked very similar in design to the Wii either) Leading most people to believe it was another peripheral. (Peripherals are a whole 'nother story)

At least more and more are understanding it's a new console (there's still plenty who don't know but that can change eventually).

I still remember when the Wii U was still new where I went to Toys "R" Us to buy a couple Wii U games (BOGO 40% off sale) and the lady at the check out asked me is the Wii U just a fancy controller. I haven't had that kind of conversation for quite some time now.

What I don't understand is how could people be confused with the names Wii and Wii U and yet they aren't confused with PS3 and PS4 and XBox 360 and XBox One...

Heck was this such an issue as well during the Gameboy era (Y'know, Game Boy, Game Boy colour and Game Boy Advance), or the NES & SNES era for that matter? :/

I guess times just have changed, especially since Nintendo has been starting to do the name changing thing for the home consoles since the N64....
