Super Smash Bros 4 (Wii U/3DS) Topic

I can kind of see the disappointment with the announcement.Revealing Cranky Kong as a 4th playable character is something I expect to get in a Nintendo Direct reveled by Bill Trinen or someone from the Nintendo Tree house. Not for a VGX "exclusive primere" (Granted all of them sucked) For an event like VGX I would expect something a bit more... I don't know.... a game that we haven't seen much footage of like X or Smash or a new game like Zelda U. Maybe its me wanting to see Nintendo put their best foot forward, why i expected a little something more.

But none the less I'm a DKC Fan so I'm content. However, I would be pretty butthurt myself if the announcement was just for more Pikmin 3 DLC though. which to some people this is the equivalent of

I agree, as big of a DKC fan as I am, hearing Reggie was coming to the VGX himself to announce something new,
playable Cranky Kong announcement was the last thing i would fly down to the VGX and announce in person. but news is news.

And for you guys with 3DS's and Wii U's, just a head's up: At Best Buy, from now until December 14, all Nintendo eShop prepaid cards are 20% off. I already went and got $75 worth of eShop cash for the price of $60.

Nintendo Directs usually come monthly or once per two months. This year, every month had a Nintendo Direct with some shorter, game-specific Nintendo Directs alongside them.

The last Nintendo Direct was on November 13th, 2013.

If we do get a character, I predict it would most likely be Zelda. (if only it could be the ICs or King Dedede, they'd fit in well with the month) Personally I'd rather see King Dedede get revealed soon, though that's a longshot. A Dedede main can dream though.

Well, given this image, you're pretty much right.

Well to be fair, the hype worthy bombs are all coming out next year. I personally, would like Nintendo to start off the year with a bang, detailing whats to come that year and possibly the next.

I can kind of see Nintendo doing it during the Christmas holiday to entice consumers to buy a wii U before the end of their fiscal year, but like i said the games that consumers would want to play are all coming next year just for them to play.

It was never a monthly thing. It was mostly situational (based on recent games, going into detail on upcoming updates such as the Miiverse 3DS update). I don't see a ND happening this month. Unless, they have one in regards to the Miiverse 3DS update (which like always, will come last minute). That update is bound to come out after Christmas.

I don't actually care either way. The original DKC games will always be the best in the end. Yeah I said it, don't get butthurt.

When I was a kid, I asked for consoles for Christmas too; but I was totally in the dark about upcoming games. I only knew about up coming games through commercials on Nick and Cartoon Network.

But none the less it makes sense, Nintendo might want to do it to help boost their sales before the fiscal year so the Wii U doesn't so bad in the eyes of investors..which to some degree the it may have already.

For real! If i had to make a revised list of DKC fighters in Smash4 I would choose:

1. DK
2. Diddy & Dixie (Zelda/Shiek & Ice Climber hybrid tag team duo)
3. King K. Rool (Hidden character)*
4. Cranky Kong (Hidden Character)*

* Thats if they are still doing the whole hidden character thing.

He didn't even compare it to Call of Duty at all he just said it's an FPS(and it is an FPS, though you can also put it in other categories like first person adventure if you want). There's lot of FPSes that are nothing like COD-Fall out 3, Border Lands, Half Life, Bioshock, a whole ton of horror games, hell even Halo is a FPS that's much closer to Metroid Prime than COD with it's emphasis on large exportable levels. It's a really wide genera.
