ok, im going to be the one to say this. this is just my personal opinion, but Reggie in smash bros is not funny, a waste of a spot, and "my body is ready" is probably a quote that people think is funny but really isn't... again IMO "my body is ready" is not even remotely funny. Someone is going to probably come up with a witty response to this to get likes or whatever but Reggie in smash is stupid. i dont wanna prove anymore, its dumb. screw it

The problem is not even remotely related to the fact that he wouldn't be funny.

Seriously people here is lamenting the fact that WFT is in and then I have to read someone appreciating the idea of a ****ing CEO in the game. Not even a good CEO like Howard Lincoln, no, a fat one who relies only on lame meme jokes.

If you want to avoid crushing disappointment when playing the game for the first time, it is the wisest attitude to have.

I don't know whenever or laugh or to facepalm at everyone who spammed Sakurai's twitter.

Have these people forgotten that Sakurai doesn't want to put up with tweets of garbage? Not that Reggie would ever get in anyway, other than people making Mii's out of him (and that's an if).

Ok then, you should know that I'm open to anything and any possibility regarding Smash.

I'm sorry, but I never got the appeal of Geno. Not trying to hate or anything, but the characters in SMRPG that stole the show and were the most memorable for me are Mario and Bowser (with Mallow being a close third, even though I kinda dislike the character lol). I can see Miis joining the roster, even if I don't like the idea very much.

Dr. Kawashima, no. Being based on (or rather, being a low polygon rendering of) a real-life person definitely doesn't bode well for his inclusion.

As for Nintendog, I think it may be lack of taste to have a realistic dog in a fighting game. I doubt some people would take it well. The characters have to make a person play the game, not the reverse effect, after all!

I don't really think being based on a real person means anything, it's like not including Pikachu because he's partly based on a mouse. This is only the fictional depiction of him, partly based on Dr. Kawashima (Hence only his head ), this depiction that originated in a videogame. In real life, I'm pretty sure there are no floating heads in real life.
As for Nintendog, I think people would actually want to play as a puppy, simply because the appeal of beating other characters like Mewtwo or Ridley with just a ___ing puppy.

@Criteria argument: If it doesn't fit the necessary criteria for Smash, it won't get in. That's like somebody not having the necessary criteria for an occupation and expecting to get hired anyway because reasons.

@Nintendog: No. Just... no. I don't want to have to beat up a puppy when I play All-Star Mode. Plus, PETA and numerous lawsuits (potentially) make it more trouble than it's worth. Duck Hunt Dog would be better for the spot because it isn't a realistic dog (not that I really care about DHD, but it's better for the job at hand). I also speak as a dog owner when I say that playing as Nintendog would break my heart.

The only real issues for Nintendog is that it's fully based on the actual puppy breed and potential animal rights. Though it's possible Sakurai may change his mind, like with the Villager.
Though I can see Sakurai deciding between DHD and Nintendog, as they are iconic in their own right and having pretty similar traits. Though I think also they are both iconic enough to both be in the game.

Being generic isn't exactly a good main appeal to have, especially when animal rights issues make it more trouble than it's worth.

Duck Hunt Dog may establish the appeal very well, but not as well as Nintendog.
Only question is if Sakurai finds the animal rights issue the bigger issue to not add the puppy or not.
