Now I've never played Fire Emblem before due to my fear of losing characters that die permanently, but I'm curious. What's the overall appeal of the series?

No lie, explaining why I like things is really hard for me.

I really like the characters and (sometimes) the stories. They're generally a cut above your typical Nintendo fare.

The difficulty is also a small part of the appeal, for me anyway. But don't worry Wave, in FE12 and 13 they have a mode for filthy casuals like you that gets rid of permadeath.

It's probably nothing. Is there even another notable game coming out relatively soon? Because I doubt Sakurai would hit us with two randomly revealed characters in a row (though predicting Sakurai is often an exercise in futility anyway - and I'm sure eventually we will get two randomly revealed characters in a row closer to release when there's an excess of characters with no game to promote).

@Swampsaur: Not saying it's impossible for another reveal this month but I'm having problems seeing another reveal until December.

Then again, back in the prerelease Brawl hype, Sakurai did reveal FOUR characters in a single month (Ike, Peach, Pokémon Trainer, & Diddy Kong back in August '07)

Destiny battles sounds like an awesome idea; but, still not practical. There are not enough character variation for there to be destiny battles, mainly due to overlapping characters to their specific universes.

but some can be more for comedy I guess. Like everyone has a specific other person but it's not the same battle when you are that person.

Like Mario's is Bowser, but Bowser is Peach and Peach's is DK... etc. It won't always make sense but the cutscene should set it up in an amusing way.

Pit vs. Meta Knight

Lucas vs. Ness - To make it interesting, only one of them talks.

It may seem likely if there were to be anything like "Destiny Battles", that it will be against rival characters. I would just like to see characters that wouldn't normally be playable in the game in some form. Then, Boss Rush mode would encompass the 30+ bosses in the game.
