I think it's more a hint that Ridley's playable and will be revealed later on today/this week at Gamescom... I don't think Sakurai would reduce a character like Ridley to a stage hazard after he was a boss in Brawl and is one of the most requested characters.

You do have a point there, and it WOULD cause a lot of (rightful) butthurt.

Still, theres is a possibility he's a hazard, but a small one at that. Let's have our fingers crossed he'll be revealed as a playable character soon.

I noticed that challenger approaching thing happening even before update time. It was taken down earlier today and then put back up closer to the update... and then taken down again and put back up again and so on.

Uhm... not to sound strange or judge anyone when they know what is up for themselves, but... this one post has raised so much in the maybe 15 minutes it's been posted... and no matter WHAT happens, in this end's opinion it was the most evil yet most amazing way to start a pic of the day thus far

I'm hoping this too (that he is hinting at later confirmation for a playable Ridley, and not a Ridley stage hazard).

My heart is jumping. Its pretty much do or die for Ridley right now in regards to Smash 4.

I can really hate Sakurai sometimes. This will pretty much make the anti-Ridley people much more obnoxious up until the Ridley unveil (which could be more than a year away).

Also, what's this about the "Challenger Approaching" showing up on the site today and then being taken down?

It was a strong impact though, Ridley's size isn't completely responsible for the size of the hole.

I'm still scared though...
