:009: is the most popular starter after :006: , and :009: is also the best starter ever.

All of this is 100% true. We should be able to do all modes that we do offline on Wifi with the same amount of players too. We also could use (advanced) matchmaking, game type searches, game option searches, and even have the ability to jump into games already in progress.

Oh, and a more streamlined friend's area would be nice.
Yeah, the friend's area and system was pretty bad.

There should be a way for people to find and friend others in-game.

Yeah, the stamina system needs to die. I also think the taunt buttons or perhaps button combinations (A+B, A+X, A+Y) should serve as the transformations buttons for the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon, thus freeing up the down B as an attack for each of them.

I have a similar proposition for Sheik and Zelda (A+B or a taunt command), but I feel a heck of a lot less strongly about that one.
OH. And give Charizard Seismic Toss. Love seeing that throw in P:M.

And a question: I've seen a Charizard victory pose in P:M where Charizard is lying down like in the anime when he can't be bothered. Is that the only new one?

Fixed for accuracy that I dislike.

Seriously, Game Freak and Pokemon don't have to plaster Pikachu on everything.
Be thankful he may never get a Megaform. It appears to be final stages only.

And I meant of the regular Starters for that list. Pikachu is the mascot, this is justified. Just like Mario has the most forms in all of the series(including SSB). Don't believe me? I cited over 20 different forms(and some were similar, like Small, Tiny, and Mini Mario, but they all used different items or were treated different in their appearances. Mini was shorter than Small and required a Mini Mushroom. Tiny Mario is SSB only and requires a Poison Mushroom.), including Dr. Mario, whether or not he really is Mario wasn't relevant for the list I made. It was a challenge to list 20 characters from a single franchise. So I listed twenty different variations of Mario.), with Wario coming in second via his Wario Land stuff. This is for the direct Mario universe(Donkey Kong excluded)

It's not too surprising, ultimately. Not necessarily good, though.

Yeah, Seismic Toss is new, and yes, I think that victory animation is new.

I think there should be an option before starting games whether or not to allow friends to jump into a game in progress.

I mean how cool would it be to jump into a game with 2 or 3 of your friends already playing=??? :shades:

Also, group chats/texting should be a thing, as well as the ability to make said groups.

All the constant "ADD PIKACHU TO EVERYTHING" thing just makes me dislike him a bit, much like how some people dislike Charizard for being overrated. I can still enjoy Pikachu, but I'd enjoy him more if he wasn't glued to everything Pokemon related to the point where it seems that Pikachu is like an airbag for ideas.

@John: I know it's new, but is it the ONLY new one?

Nah. Blastoise is overrated. Blaziken's only real competition is Charizard now. Namely due to the fact of who's actually promoted more.(it ain't Blastoise, it's Charizard and Blaziken the most) I wonder why... hmm, because they know what sells. Blastoise is cool, but it's funny how he didn't even show up on the Gen III remakes' cartridges..., with Venusaur and Charizard instead. He's decently popular, but not talked about as much as good old Char or Blaziken either.
Blastoise didn't show up on the gen 3 covers because in Japan the two version were red and green. Then they made a third version called blue with upgraded graphics

In America they used this new blue version then used the version exclusives from the original green and red and made two new versions they called red and blue.

Because they knew blastoise was was cooler than Venusaur.

Red and green was a throwback to the original games

Idk about you guys but i go to Smash for the characters, but stay for the gameplay.

@Gamplay Discussion: I would really like it if grab breaking was implemented into SSB4's combat.
Seriously this. It would avoid so many stupid chaingrabs.

Again, look at how stupidly Mario is overused. He shouldn't be part of Luigi's Mansion at all. Luigi had something unique to fight for, his life. Leave it at that. It didn't help that King Boo's appearance suggested(at first) he was actually a dead Bowser due to his Bowser costume at the end of the fight.

@PsychoIncarnate: I already said that. Look at one of my later posts. That's part of the reason, the other is that they don't care much about Blastoise at all. In addition, he stopped showing up in the Anime entirely since Gary was defeated. Not much reason to promote him. So they went with the other one since the Venusaur did get an Anime appearance in the 3rd Gen, and a fairly notable contest battle too.(Squirtle did show up with May, but that was it) You can tell what was more promote-worthy with the remakes, which is the ones already in the Anime being shown off, the original and most popular Starter(I don't know if Pikachu is honestly the most popular at all...), and Venusaur, the lesser one. Also, since they're makes of the original, and they wanted two, it was easy to choose who was of importance. Something to note about Red's Gen III redesign. He looks a lot more like Ash than his old game version.

There's multiple reasons behind it; Remaking the true originals in Japan. Who the most popular Starters were. And then who showed up in the Anime the most. And remember, this was made after the Advanced Generation Anime started too, not before.

Speaking of Luigi's Mansion, I hope Luigi will begin to get more and more of his own games, like Yoshi, and DK, and Wario, and hopefully Waluigi will get his own game at some point. The Year of Luigi should not be Luigi's only time to shine in his own Luigi Bros. game.

Who's with me? How about the Luigi series becoming a thing?

Well, I don't really mind Mario, I don't play his games much now anyway outside of Smash. I'm more of a Sonic guy as of recent years, probably because of the "New" series. Massive quotations because 4 (technically 5 with New Super Luigi U) games is NOT NEW ANYMORE.

Part of me wants the Pokemon Trainer (Red or Ash or anyone else, don't care) to be his own thing... Like actually throwing his Pokeball to capture players like how Yoshi entraps players with eggs. I don't care how dumb it sounds. I just haven't lived my childhood dream of actually using a Pokeball to capture things. No, I don't consider the actual Pokemon games interactive enough to fulfill it.

Throws rocks and bait, uses repels, and uses an escape rope for recovery.
It'd certainly be interesting.

Ugh, I hated the New series too. I might like the variation in Super Mario 3D World, though.

@Psycho Incarnate: Two years old... yeah, let's try something a bit more recent, like the last month or so. Also, wouldn't it make more sense to show a chart from right before FireRed and LeafGreen were shown to see who was more popular? The data of that chart doesn't work for when this argument is being held at any time.(or the timeline of which the argument speaks of)

The fact you think Venusaur was EVER more popular than Blastoise is completely absurd

And IGN's poll 2 years ago was the only one ever made with that level of support and detail.

Does Squirtle get sunglasses?
As a special taunt and as 1 or 2 celebrations.

Ness also does the "fuzzy pickle" pose if you press the up taunt real fast, and a camera flash happens with a camera noise.

Oh, and if you up taunt after a sweet spot knee with Falcon he says "yesssssss!"

...Did you read my posts whatsoever? I said Venusaur was less popular every time.

I said Blaziken is. Read them better next time. And don't skim. And unless you can quote a current poll(that's extremely recent, not two years ago) that still proves Blastoise is more popular than Blaziken, I'm going to have to take who is more promoted as the most popular, namely due to the fact they sell better, which means people want them more. You need better evidence to prove my theory wrong.

Oh. Forgot another one. Punch-Luigi!!!, the Wii revival. :troll:
Or it could be Luigi-Out!!!

----
If it was Luigi-Out!!! then wouldn't Luigi be, "out"? Luigi does not approving of being left out of the action, nor does Grimer. :mad088:

And Punch-Luigi!!! would imply that you have to punch Luigi...

So how about: Punch Out!!! Luigi Edition. New and improved!

How about being more requested as a playable SSB Character(Hoenn Trainer is a big one. He only ever really has to battle with Charizard for the PT fire spot at best, who is his only competition). Already better in Competitive Tourneys to the point of having a banned version. Getting a new evolution(even if it's really more of a form or a mode change...) where Blastoise may not. I'd say quite a lot right now.

Again, give more than old proof(which does not apply today). Mine may be respectively anecdotal evidence, but it's recent enough to prove old and non-recent evidence wrong. It's still better than old crap that may apply because you think it didn't change despite more stuff being introduced during that time.(Genesect, anyone?)

Blaziken is a fighting fire chicken, and looks and sounds cool. I remember people suggesting him as a standalone character for Brawl before Pokemon Trainer was revealed. Blastoise...not so much.

I think he/it's just as popular, if not more so, than Blastoise, especially among the younger generation.

Maybe he could even pull out one of his regular Pokemon and give them diabetes with Lemonade!

But really...

I have no clue what is really going on, but it sounds like the stupidest kind of argument you could have.

I think the main reason people would request Blaziken over Blastoise is that Blaziken just seems more fighting game appropriate. I'm not saying he is, just that he seems. I would rather see Blastoise, mainly because I'd like to see the opportunity for a heavy character with water and ice based moves.

This too. I forgot about that. Blastoise got very few requests overall, besides maybe changing up PT's lineup at best. And I can't remember that one... I think Diddy Kong here did think Blastoise would be a cool standalone rep, but Blaziken was very heavily requested instead.(namely because he and Deoxys were the most unique choices.)

Outside of returning characters, I'd rather see Meowth since he actually is important in the Anime(heavily so). Also, you know who could do that too? Wailord. :troll:

So other than getting a broken ability in the dreamworld. Which, mind you ALL starters got new dreamworld abilities - pokemon company just didn't balance them worth ****, and being one of the first megas released, what has Blaziken actually been promoted in recently?

Blaziken's rise in popularity due to having a mega surely didn't contribute to his popular to get a mega in the first place. That'd be a paradox

What.
I don't even.
First, Kirby.
Second, Blaziken is ****ing awesome, he's at least in the top 20. No.649 is probably some forgotten shmuck like Shuppet or Sandshrew
Third, Ludicolo will NEVER EVER EEEEVEERRR be better than Lucario, Mewtwo, and Bulbasaur.

Fine, I rigged the results. Blaziken was in reality #10. But Squirtle, Shiny Squirtle, Wartortle, Shiny Wartortle, Blastoise, and Shiny Blastoise took the first six spots.

I propose a Squirtle Trainer. He uses Squirtle and it's evolutions. He will be a guy in a squirtle costume. Then we can have a Hoenn Trainer replace PKMN Trainer.

Edited: I have created concept art of the Squirtle Trainer

I found a poll from this year on IGN called "battle of the starters"

It only has the first forms listed

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/11/battle-of-the-pokemon-starters

Squirtle got second place. And its evolutions are implied with its' choice. not to mention the comments of voters specifically choose the starters based on their final evolutions

You spend 16 (11 since he starts at 5 if you didn't breed him) levels with squirtle, 20 with wartortle, and 64 with Blastoise

Edit: 67% of the voters sad gen 1 had the best starters compared to 10% for gen 3

Edit: 67% of the voters sad gen 1 had the best starters compared to 10% for gen 3
That's... actually assuming the other two evolutions had any influence in it. We don't know. That's only a good case for Squirtle and Torchic and nothing more. You're only implying that Blaziken is less popular despite him not being on that poll. A poll that's recent and has Blastoise and Blaziken specifically is the only reliable one ultimately.
