I liked Samus in melee. I was almost as good at samus as I was sheik
I just wish they didn't get nerfed so heavily in Brawl. Sheik was still a very viable character, but poor Zelda was unplayable for the most part.

What I want them to do is make it so Zelda and Sheik are both fairly viable on their own. But Sheik still is bad at finishing them, while Zelda is best at it. I liked that concept.

For Samus and Zero Suit Samus, just make them both great on their own. You can't easily switch between the two so it shouldn't matter. For Pokemon Trainer, if he comes back, the lag could legitimately be toggable or they could at least remove their elemental weakness(or apply it so they also affect characters with elemental stuff just as much. In other words, say Charizard is fighting Ice Climbers. He'd do slightly more damage with his Fire attacks. But if Bowser did a Fire move against them, nothing special would happen. Or at least apply the strengths and weaknesses to all Pokemon VS Pokemon only. Like Charizard's Flamethrower would hurt Lucario a bit more.)

Related, Lucario should keep his Aura too. That's what made him unique.(I guess it could be a toggable option, though. I'd keep it in since I loved the idea and challenge.)

It wouldn't hurt them to update their console either. As I said before, I need WIRED controller support and cross-game voice chat at the very least.
Yeah, they really need to do that.

USB controller support (and using said support to recharge controllers and allowing for wired controllers) would be such an easy thing to add that would go so far.

But no, Nintendo hates easy fixes.

If Nintendo was a person, they would be more prone to dying of rabies than of an actual life-threatening disease that is minimally curable.

A voice chat system should be applied to every Wii U game that has online multi-player features, but I'm not sure if the 3DS could do the same.

Regardless, the next Smash Bros. needs MUCH better Wifi than Brawl's.

The problem with this concept is that it can easily go very wrong, as we've seen before. Sheik is in the spotlight only for Zelda to be a glorified assist character. Another big problem with them is that they're simply too different from one another to have true synergy.

I say just remove the elemental aspect period. It really only applies to a handful of matchups.

Eww, clutch mechanics. I'm sure most Lucario players will tell you there's more to him than the Aura mechanic.

Agreed on the voice chat, and yes, you can do it on the 3DS. I don't have one, but I have a DS, and you could do it there.

And yes, the Wifi needs to and will be better in the sense that the game will actually be playable. Remember, Namco Bandai (the Smash Wii U and 3DS developer) made Soul Calibur V, which, according to people I know, has pretty lag-free online for the most part. I heard Tekken Tag Tournament 2's online got similar praise(s).

Yeah, Lucario players must hhhaaatttteeee the clutch mechanic. It literally adds nothing to the character or the game. In fact, it takes away from it all.

When it comes to Pokemon Trainer, remove stamina, if a Pokemon is KO'd, don't force a switch, give each Pokemon a Down Special and make the switch something else.

No. They're fine together and how they should stay. They just need to do it better. An idea I had is related to the Marvel VS Capcom series. When Zelda transforms to Sheik, they get hit up in the air or away like an explosion. This has cooldown time to prevent it from being powerful. When Sheik transforms to Zelda, they get stunned for a bit in a similar way to Sing. However, again, if overused it gets weaker. This allows them to do both what they do best, while not making one overpowered. I refuse to separate them because the concept was an excellent idea. The execution needed work. Nothing more.

Zelda does need buffs, but she shouldn't be ridiculously good at racking up damage because it ruins the whole point of why she's even in the game. To be a finishing blow character. Sheik's entire reason for being in the game is to rack up damage. That's their literal concept and how they play. This is also why trying to separate them actually ruins the overall character, because it was never meant to be. That's as horrible as making Ice Climber one character total. They're most powerful as a team in concept. It's also why he's at his worst with a lack of Nana, because that was his weakness. Both ideas are perfect in concept, although I'd say Ice Climbers executed it pretty well.

I say just remove the elemental aspect period. It really only applies to a handful of matchups.
Debatable. But yeah, it did get annoying sometimes. I liked the idea, though. As for making us force to switch, I would like that toggable simply for the fact that, yes, people play as all of them instead of one. By doing that, players can easily give themselves the appropriate handicap to know when to switch. Albeit, I'm fine with it gone too, but I didn't mind it either.

Eww, clutch mechanics. I'm sure most Lucario players will tell you there's more to him than the Aura mechanic.

That's the only thing I find that makes him worth playing as, to be honest(for me). Otherwise I'd rather pick Samus or Pikachu at that point. It's a well-designed mechanic, truthfully. I do want it toggable for those who don't prefer it. Actually, if Pichu had that mechanic, he wouldn't such nearly as much.(he'd be pretty cool)

Also, the way I look at it is this; Zelda's overall placement on the Melee List and Shiek's placement on the Brawl list are around where I want them to be separately. Together, they should be a lot higher, like maybe in the A or B tier. Around the top of B.(assuming it goes S, A, B)

Okay.... I'm back from vacation!

Why does everything happen while I'm on vacation?

@Luigi
You guys are all wrong. Luigi wasn't revealed because of the year of Luigi or Dream Team.

HE WAS REVEALED BECAUSE OF SHARK WEEK!!!
Shark Week Luigi.png

:troll:

Forgive me I spent two minutes in paint.

In all seriousness, I was shocked to see him revealed. I think this gives a lot more weight to the monthly reveal AND the release date reveal theories. Regardless, it seems Luigi seems to be mostly unchanged. I'm a bit disappointed.

I'm wondering if he'll be a starter character this time. It would be cool to see him promoted!

@ Mega Evolutions
Pokemon is becoming Digimon! And I love it!

I do expect to see Mega Lucario, Mega Mewtwo and possibly Mega Charizard is smash in some way. Even if its just a trophy.

I hope all starters have one. I wanna see Mega Venasaur.

@ Gameplay

Gameplay?

Um... That's that thing where the game looks really good right?

I want more of that in smash. :troll:

Not just the lag, but also the features. There weren't enough options, we should get a few special modes. (at least Stamina, Giant and Tiny, if for some reason it's too much for online lag then they don't have to retain the feature to fuse different Special modes)

And along with voice chat, a real chat system via text would be nice, and a different way to type things than in Brawl. There should be online tournaments too, and custom stages should be playable online.

I just realized - Why does Mega Lucario get Attack increase when most sets of Lucario are special based, and his signature attack is special based?

Most fighting moves are regular Attack-based. More diversity I guess? We don't know if he gets new moves while in Mega form either.

Plus, nothing can beat my profile pic of Frank West. :awesome: I've covered wars, you know.

...still hoping for that water/ steel mega blastoise
I'm starting to doubt that all Starters will get it. Namely because the Blazikenite is literally an event item. That's a lot of even items to hand out. He may be the only Starter to get it. And you know, I think he might be the most popular Starter with his biggest competition being Charizard overall.

Oh, and I know you can start with other Pokemon besides the first 9 of the dex(numbers 1-9 to be clear, since 0 sometimes show up), but I doubt they'll be getting them as well. Maybe some, but not all.

Well, I guess Frank is environmentally friendly and conservative by killing all the zombies.
But has Captain Planet covered wars? I don't think so.

So apparently I can't edit posts on Smashboards while using firefox

Blaziken is not as popular as Charizard or Blastoise, though I'm sure he's pretty high up

Gen 1 starters are a shoe in as far as I'm concerned/ hope...

All of this is 100% true. We should be able to do all modes that we do offline on Wifi with the same amount of players too. We also could use (advanced) matchmaking, game type searches, game option searches, and even have the ability to jump into games already in progress.

Oh, and a more streamlined friend's area would be nice.

Nah. Blastoise is overrated. Blaziken's only real competition is Charizard now. Namely due to the fact of who's actually promoted more.(it ain't Blastoise, it's Charizard and Blaziken the most) I wonder why... hmm, because they know what sells. Blastoise is cool, but it's funny how he didn't even show up on the Gen III remakes' cartridges..., with Venusaur and Charizard instead. He's decently popular, but not talked about as much as good old Char or Blaziken either.

Someone brought up a theory that these Mega Evolutions are based off of Nordic Gods.

Mega Blaziken = Sultr, God of Fire
Mega Lucario = Forseti, God of Justice
Mega Ampharos = Thor, God of Thunder
Mega Mawile = Loki, God of Deception
Mega Absol = Holler, God of Disaster
Mega Mewtwo = Magni, God of Power

If this is true, perhaps we can guess the other Pokémon who will get Mega Evolutions?

Oh my....Mega Arceus as Odin, The All-Father. 0_0

I think not! All that zombie blood is unhealthy for the grass.

And yes, Captain Planet has covered a war; THE WAR AGAINST LOOTING AND POLLUTING! ( is not the way! :awesome: )

I thought Venusaur was, while still somewhat popular, the least popular of the three.

@Fastblade: I resent that! Zombies have feelings, too, just not pain or fatigue! Geez... :chuckle:

Charizard's far more iconic and recognizable than Blaziken. Not saying Charizard is better in anyway, but there's no denying Charizard's more popular.

I meant that Blastoise doesn't retain as much popularity to even get any promotion at all these days. Not that he is less popular than Venusaur. He isn't much more, though. Anyway, the original games were Red and Green, not Red and Blue. Remaking them after the first names make sense. Also, Blue was the name of the same guy who becomes Gary in America, so naturally they wanted him to remain the true rival of Red(and Ash by extent). Green became Leaf(again, America only) to separate the confusion. Blue/Green's designs were also very similar to Dawn's too.(that is the girl's original design. Leaf is much more different from Blue/Green[Female]).

The most promoted(since they blatantly sell and are wanted) have been generally Charizard, then Blaziken, then Blastoise.(Blastoise is almost above Blaziken, but he lacks the promotions to make him notable to most)

Fixed for accuracy that I dislike.

Seriously, Game Freak and Pokemon don't have to plaster Pikachu on everything.

When it comes to Pokemon Trainer, remove stamina, if a Pokemon is KO'd, don't force a switch, give each Pokemon a Down Special and make the switch something else.
Yeah, the stamina system needs to die. I also think the taunt buttons or perhaps button combinations (A+B, A+X, A+Y) should serve as the transformations buttons for the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon, thus freeing up the down B as an attack for each of them.

I have a similar proposition for Sheik and Zelda (A+B or a taunt command), but I feel a heck of a lot less strongly about that one.

I've seen the final battle and I find it to be...meh.
The final battle in the first game was kinda meh as well, but I liked it much better by comparison.

I wouldn't mind King Boo as a fighter in Smash Bros, just as long as they use his original Luigi's Mansion and Dark Moon design instead of the boring "generic large white boo with a crown" appearance he had in the sports and party games. Never understood that part.

And also have Petey Piranha as a fighter as well. It just doesn't feel right to me for one recurring Mario boss to make it in but not another.
