I thought the Toad in 3D World was blue...?I didn't mean you were making that argument. But yeah, Toad definitely should have the spot before Geno, Waluigi, or Paper Mario. Bowser Jr. is arguable, though. I think they could both get in at the same time. I like Waluigi the most of that list, but come on, Toad just got playable again, not the crappy recolors in NSMB, but the original playable Toad, in Super Mario World 3D. Enough. Said.
I know right. Hopefully...Also, you have no idea how much I wish they had actually put in a specific Trainer, but it's clearly Sakurai makes all the Pokemon characters generic while having influences from specific ones. The name of Pokemon Trainer and his exact basic Trophy outright confirmed his style.
That's Captain Toad(this is his most appropriate US name)'s color from the actual SMB2 game itself. He was only different colored in the manual.I thought the Toad in 3D World was blue...?
I'm not entirely mad at this. Except for the lack of more unique costumes. We had something slightly based off of Brendan/Emerald though with his Green costume. But that's even more subtle than most, like Mario having a Wario-style costume in each Smash.(I think he might've ditched it in Brawl?)I know right. Hopefully...
I still see Bowser Jr. and Paper Mario.I listened to what you guys had to say, here's my new roster prediction:
Swapped Pac Man for Rayman (Pac Man is the most likely 3rd party character to be added), cut Geno, cut Andy, cut Dillon, added Game & Watch.
I'd bet money R.O.B. will not return.
Hag 1 > LandmasterJust makes me hate M$ even more, Grunty would have been perfect, villain, female, and ugly, that'd keep the feminists off our backs.
Agreed on Toad, though I still personally prefer Bowser Jr.I didn't mean you were making that argument. But yeah, Toad definitely should have the spot before Geno, Waluigi, or Paper Mario. The name of Pokemon Trainer and his exact basic Trophy outright confirmed his style. Even with Mewtwo, he didn't specifically add the one from the movie, just a Mewtwo with a masculine voice influenced by it. His moveset isn't even that similar to the first movie, anyway. Does it even have Shadow Ball in the second movie?
As I'm not one of those common FE fans, I won't be needing this. This out of context /feg/ comment.
This is about 1,600 Bells.
They're not funny.I wasn't trying to be subtle. It was a joke...

The guy at bottom right is Goose from Pilotwings 64. Don't worry about icon placement lol, no trying to predict that. You will be eating a hat.I still see Bowser Jr. and Paper Mario.
And as much as I'd like Skull Kid, he's not very likely at all, so that's still not a very good prediction.
Everything else looks alright, other than that person in the bottom right corner, I can't even tell who that is...
The organization is still really awful though, why is Ridley way over there instead of by Samus?
I will eat my hat if R.O.B. doesn't return.
Red Toad appears too.I thought the Toad in 3D World was blue...?
Yeah, he's blue.
Stahp making me crai.Hag 1 > Landmaster
Even if it says Kinopio or Kino on the Japanese screen, it would still say Toad on the American screen and many other countries' screens regardless. It doesn't matter if it says Kinopio or Kino on the Japanese screen, you are still playing as a member of the Kino species regardless.@Arcadenik: Actually, it does. His name on the Japanese screen would determine that. He has two different names, so whatever it is on there determine if it's the race or the specific character.
Who isn't funny? No need to be mean. They're not funny.
It just looks a lot nicer and shows a bit more effort, not to mention that I didn't even spot K. Rool until about five minutes because he wasn't under DK.The guy at bottom right is Goose from Pilotwings 64. Don't worry about icon placement lol, no trying to predict that. You will be eating a hat.
That's presuming Chrom will get a completely unique moveset. All I see out of him is simply some sort of clone of Ike or Marth. I might revoke the statements if presented, but at the moment it's not looking that bright. If, let's say, Chrom got in (alongside Marth and Ike, at least) and was given a completely unique moveset, would you still be heavily against him? In all honesty, I'm just curious, since you've been known to look at things from a gameplay perspective.
No, it still matters. You're either playing as Captain Toad or you're not. I don't care what he's called outside of Japan. I do care exactly which character I'm playing as. I want correct information, not half-assed stuff I constantly see. Like people always putting incorrect data about who Pokemon Trainer is on wikis. It's just terrible overall. False information should not be allowed on there, end of story.Even if it says Kinopio or Kino on the Japanese screen, it would still say Toad on the American screen and many other countries' screens regardless. Even if Peach's B move involves Kinopio, a Kino can still be playable and we won't care if it is THE Toad or A Toad because that playable Kino would still be called Toad outside Japan.
You with these jokes. You're killing the joke by saying "points for who gets the reference". It comes off as you trying to hard for chuckles.Who isn't funny? No need to be mean.
I would rather have the true personification of one of my favorite characters than a generic dude based on him, though. No, it still matters. You're either playing as Captain Toad or you're not. @MexM: I'd say the fact that Sakurai never added an extremely specific Pokemon character is a good thing. It means you can name Pokemon Trainer whoever you want still be accurate. You want to name him Red? Use the Name Feature. Blue? Sure. Etc.
And this is why Family Guy is unfunny. You with these jokes. You're killing the joke by saying "points for who gets the reference". It comes off as you trying to hard for chuckles.
Okay, but you didn't have do say any of this. Would have been better if you just said "okay" or "Please stop".You with these jokes. You're killing the joke by saying "points for who gets the reference". It comes off as you trying to hard for chuckles.
Oh, I meant that as a hypothetical, in case it wasn't too clear. But it's good to know that if that scenario did occur, likelihood not withstanding, that you'd be okay with it.That's presuming Chrom will get a completely unique moveset. All I see out of him is simply some sort of clone of Ike or Marth. I might revoke the statements if presented, but at the moment it's not looking that bright.
I'd rather have Ash than never-talking Red, then. Red was not very interesting compared to Blue, or Silver, or Lyra/Crystal, or May... Of course, Ash'll never happen, so...I would rather have the true personification of one of my favorite characters than a generic dude based on him, though.
I'm not gonna lie, but the MyNintendoNews website did refer her as Waifu Material Gym Leader in the headline. I'm not ****ting you.
I bet $599 US. dollars that she's the Fighting-type leader the PokeBeach rumors mentioned.
Well, that's okay, it's your opinion.I'd rather have Ash than never-talking Red, then. Red was not very interesting compared to Blue, or Silver, or Lyra/Crystal, or May... Of course, Ash'll never happen, so...
I can't wait to see if Captain Toad OR Toad makes it in.
But would that really satisfy you?Okay, but you didn't have do say any of this. Would have been better if you just said "okay" or "Please stop".
This is quite a respectable viewpoint, something I honestly never thought I would see you say in regards to Chrom, given what you have said in the past. 0_0R-right.
Well, the deal with Chrom is that his general design is supposed to borrow characteristics from the other Lords, with most of the inspiration coming from Ike. His daughter meanwhile takes inspiration from Marth. Basically when you put the two together, it's supposed to give off vibes of Marth and Ike respectively, the two most well known and popular Lords in the series. You can tell from a design standpoint alone, and it was probably done so in order to highlight the most well received characteristics of a Lord character. Chrom himself also borrows form skills shared with Ike, such as Aether, and also boasts similarly distributed stats and stat growths. However, believe it or not, the similarities end there. Chrom and Ike have different back stories and motives, and their personalities were different with Ike generally being more rough due to his mercenary ties. It's also worth mentioning that unlike other Lords Chrom is capable of being reclassed into other classes aside from the typical Great Lord or equivalents.
Also, you might be wondering why I dislike Chrom so much if that is the case. Well to simply put into words, Chrom hasn't proven anything notably special. Yes he's a Lord which is all fine and dandy, but there are at least a dozen of them through out the series and they tend to be more colorful. There is of course the very notable problem of the character creating a negative sense of redundancy, which can easily create a sense of disappointment for veterans of the series and create a bad image of the Fire Emblem franchise for newcomers. There is just that lack of excitement for a character that feels like one big beaten horse, and in a franchise that has a very notable sense of diversity in play that is going to be an issue.
Also, it should go without saying that it doesn't matter what a character appears like in Smash. Their name is the only thing that defines who they are and quite literally nothing else. You're wrong if you think their design means a damn thing. That's been proven with Pokemon Trainer. He's portrayed as being some random Trainer with a similar design to Red.(he's his cousin Crimson, sure, let's go with that for a better name )Well, that's okay, it's your opinion.
And yeah, I'm totally in support of Toad.
Yes it would have. It would have shown that you were politely saying what I was doing was not funny or just simply horrible. But would that really satisfy you?
I got a bigger question. Why cut Game and Watch?
Chrono gave out a request, I obliged without slamming down bias, and threw in my own prospective as to why Chrom is constantly proclaimed as dull and why that might be an issue. Nothing particularly fancy. Lying wouldn't of gotten the point across. This is quite a respectable viewpoint, something I honestly never thought I would see you say in regards to Chrom, given what you have said in the past. 0_0
I respond by pointing at my mains.I got a bigger question. *in There Will Be Brawl Mario's voice* Who watches the Game & Watch?
I don't get your logic... so you are saying the Pokémon Trainer in Brawl is really someone else who is not Red... maybe he is Red's cousin Crimson... just because Pokémon Trainer has no name in Brawl? Also, it should go without saying that it doesn't matter what a character appears like in Smash. Their name is the only thing that defines who they are and quite literally nothing else. You're wrong if you think their design means a damn thing. That's been proven with Pokemon Trainer.
