Personally, I am really happy Sakurai decided to keep Olimar instead of bringing in one of the Pikmin 3 protagonists. Olimar was a character I really wanted for Brawl, and he turned out to be a great newcomer addition. Pikmin and Pikmin 2 were amazing games too.

This Direct will be just like the others "already confirmed games" Direct: They will show you details of games that are coming out in days and leave you wanting more.
We'll probably have a lot of Mario & Luigi [ironically, a game that I've already finished] and Wonderful 101.
And then there can be new details about Miiverse and the 3DS, and even games like Donkey Kong Country. So yeah, there might be something interesting.

But I wouldn't count on Smash Bros, though.

Nah, they'll likely have another Mario game out next year, another Kirby game, Yoshi's New Island, Bayonetta 2, a Sonic game (whether Lost World or another game), X (Xenoblades 2?), and some other big 1st/2nd party game (Pokémon? Zelda? Metroid? Star Fox? F-Zero?).

Besides, I don't think Sakurai takes orders from Nintendo anymore. He does what he wants, and seeing as how no one can really replace him and that Nintendo needs him, they really need to bend to his wishes, especially since he doesn't exactly have a set "job" within Nintendo, and he's kinda a freelancer.

Plus, c'mon!!! They bent to Miyamoto to delay Pikmin 3 way past the launch window, and that game still laughably doesn't have online multiplayer or online features (despite all other RTS' having this feature, Nintendo is the only one to get away with it via reviews).

Smash Bros. it is all an illusion. We got an inch tall character about 1/3rd taller than an 8 inch character.

Does that mean Ridley (who is probably about 14 feet tall on average) would be like 1/32nd the height of Kirby=???

But really, first we get obvious hints that Little Mac with that Punch-Out!! stage, then hints of Miis with a Pilotwings stage... and now size comments, in which the one character all the idiots mention "size issues" over involve Ridley (because of stupidity).

I would not be surprised if sometime soon we saw that DKC Returns stage on Smash 3DS clearly, and there were (subtle) "hints" at K. Rool. It is like Sakurai knows we know whom to expect... but maybe he'll throw us curveballs=??? (please, just add Little Mac, Ridley, and K. Rool!!!)

He didn't have to promise and you still got the daily picture (You can't please all Timezones and he never stated a exact time). Also you do not have to purchase anything if you do not want to. This is more his choice to post pictures not what he 'has to do.' It just doesn't seem fair to expect a new reveal every day and if we did get something like that the next few months would be pretty bland. This could be seen as a way to please fans/generate hype/marketing or it could be something else, but it certainly isn't a soul bonding contract to reveal something new every day.
