Well Fastblade is taking over Nintendo, and is planning on making Moon "Master" Monkey the Nintendo CEO while I become Sakurai replacement, so this could actually speed the process up.

What if there's no update tonight because they're gonna reveal a character during the ND?

Never happened before, so I don't know. When Sonic was confirmed, they actually updated the Dojo about 2 or 3 hours earlier, because he was confirmed about 6 hours before the usual Smash Dojo updates.

The Nintendo Direct is confirmed to focus solely on games released in 2013 (so Nintendo can sell more than 50,000 Wii U's per month), so I wouldn't bet on it.
