Confusingly, they translated the memory into English for us today. Oddly, this doesn't correspond to any release date for the original Star Fox. Star Fox 64 did release in the PAL region on October 4, but memories posts normally refer to Japan's release dates. I suppose they planned to translate it for Europe, which meant the translation was already in English.

Hopefully they continue the English flashbacks. A little bit too late IMO.

Sheik was disguised to hide her identity from Ganondorf and everyone else. She was referred to with male pronouns to also keep the player from knowing she was truly Zelda. If the player knew that Sheik was female, chances are they'd figure out that she was Zelda. That would defeat the purpose of Zelda's revelation near the end. The manga isn't canon, so whatever they claim is strictly to the manga itself and not the actual game. Also, if the creator of Sheik has claimed that Sheik is male, then I'll agree that she's actually male.

Interesting. Fox brings with him the first "Today's Flashback" that is not Japanese site only. I don't understand...why start now?

Does the Smash Bros Blog hint that Fox will have his own VAs in every language?

Fox sounds more like a man than...whatever he voice was in Smash 4...thanks to the E3 demo build gameplays of him

It's on the English Smash site now.

"Mimikyu drags a nearby opponent under its rag and attacks them! The opponent cannot move while captured by Mimikyu, and if they end up with more than 100% damage after the attack, they'll be instantly KO'd. "

There seems to be a lot of instant KO things appearing lately... *shivers*

Sorry for the delays on the updates! I haven't been around much because work is so busy with NYCC. Everything should be up-to-date now.

"10/8/2018 Today's Fighter #18: Dr. Mario He has more attack and launch power than Mario, but his jump and recovery is not as good. Pro tip: You can repeatedly press the B button when using his down special, Dr. Tornado, to float a bit!"

His jump and recovery aren't as good...
But no mention of him being slower.

I think we're viable again doctors!

How many times do they need to Remix ID (Purpose)?
It shoulda of been from a older/pre-modern title instead if there had to be another FE Sample. Or, atleast it should of been an arrangement that sounded different from their original track, because I ain't hearing any from this one!

This is the first time Smash has ever remixed it.

Even then, I think it only got remixed once in Warriors as part of a medley.

It's not a very common song.

Never really liked Id Purpose for whatever reason. I feel like I hear it way too often.
Bummed that we got another FE song though. I was hoping we'd keep getting a remix from a new series each week.

I'm a fan of Id Purpose but this remix just tells me..."Does it really need a remix?". There are plenty of other good songs in Awakening they could of used if they wanted to tack a "theme song" to Chrom(This remix plays in Chrom's reveal).

Honestly, FE generally doesn't have a whole lot of remixes that aren't from Marth's games, if I remember correctly. Come to think of it the series has few remixes in general. Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at is that it's Awakening's most iconic track, though I do hope other music is given a shot as well.

Kinda bothers me that the default Boxing Ring ISN'T the Punch-Out themed version. Its the only Punch-Out stage so it'd be nice if the Punch-Out branding took priority over the generic Smash stuff.

Zero Assist Trophy is today.

"He appears from the Mega Man series. Just like in his original appearance, he uses his learned moves to wreak havoc on stage!"

Nothing to say about him really. I'm still waiting for Kid Icarus stuff to be announced for once (besides the two Pits).

What do you guys think when it says Zero uses his 'learned moves'? I only watched a playthrough of X4 so do you think he does moves from that?

Today's Fighter
#50: Greninja
"A ninja-like fighter that battles with moves like the Water Shuriken. Greninja can use a log for clever counterattacks, and this Pokémon can even stick to walls. During its Final Smash, it turns into Ash-Greninja...!?"

So happy that Greninja Final Smash have been partly revealed in today's Update! Always exciting when new stuff is revealed within a Blog Update :awesome:!

So it mentions "Ash-Greninja" in the post (I still think it's a dumb name). Despite but what I think, someone told me this is actually something new for the character. Might as well be the most interesting thing of the week, which isn't much.

It definitely takes some getting used to Ash-Greninja's name, but I learned to love the character during my playthrough of Pokemon Sun after transferring it in from the demo. It's neat to see the games and anime combine like that and I was wondering if we were getting it in Smash because of that.

Also, I guess this means we could see Lucario's two final smashes get merged? Mega Lucario fires giant Kamehameha beam?

****.

I want to forget about that.

Why not just make a regular mega evolution for Greninja dammit.

Ash Greninja is like one of the worst things they ever did in Pokemon.

Like Fusions are inherently cool. But those are usually taking two cool things and fusing them into an EXTRA cool thing.

Ash Greninja is like fusing a cool Pokemon with a trainer who can't actually fight Pokemon...Ash Greninja should be WEAKER than regular Greninja.

I approve of ash greninja (despite the name), although it's a bit unfortunate that he couldn't be an unlockable costume like meta-ridley.
