Sunrise, Sunset - Isaac for Smash Ultimate #GoldenSunday

To be fair, if the scale of attacks were exactly the same as in the main Golden Sun games, I kinda feel like Isaac would Roflstomp 90% of the characters.
So maybe Ragnarok won't cause an explosion but I do think it works as a Side Smash to charge, such attacks are pretty common after all.
Think Falcon Punch but with some distance in terms of power.

I imagine Ragnarok (Side) and Titan Blade (Down) would be like Bayonetta's Side and Down Smashes. Odyssey's multiple blades can be his Up Smash, I guess?

Ragnarok IS very lackluster compared to some of the rest of the moves in his arsenal, though. Like Odyssey.

In the moveset I made for SourceGaming I made Odyssey function like a jab but at a smaller scale which pretty much worked like Cloud's side special but with the finishing jab being a stab with the giant sword. I like the way Ragnorok functioned in the leaked Project M dev build although I would've liked more polish to it like allowing it to be chargeable and more easier to pinpoint where it lands

Well, it wouldn't have to be perfectly to scale for balancing and tweaking purposes. Since it takes so long to fully charge smash attacks in this game, it wouldn't be an unfair trade-off. Ridley can deal 50+ damage with a very small sweet spot on his down special after all.

I wonder whom will do the art work for Golden Sun now--assuming, of course, the series ever gets revived. Personally, I'm a big fan of the art style done for The Last Story, released on the Wii. I've always wanted to see that particular art style in the Fire Emblem series.

Well, they won't need to replace anybody for art style or a majority of artwork, specifically. Kajiyama wasn't behind character art, world design, or battle scenes. He was credited with enemy design, so at most, they would need somebody to fill the shoes for monster models/sprites and artwork.

Just a correction, but he wasn't the sole illustrator behind the series but mainly responsible for the monsters and minor characters. He confirmed that himself in a tweet in 2012:

From what I've heard Kajiyama only did a few of the artworks and worked on monster designs for the GBA entires. He wasn't credited in Dark Dawn and that game still had a pretty faithful artstyle to the GBA games so it's not like they have no one to do the artwork for a future installment. However it still is a saddening loss for the fanbase and I send my condolences.

Glad to see that there are more supporters joining up. I'm going to stay positive till the game releases, I really don't believe that the staff of Smash Bros forgot about Isaac, I really doubt it. Think about it, his assist trophy was probably one of the easier(yet popular) ones to implement as well, so making him an assist trophy wouldn't be a hassle what so ever. No DLC Mii costume or nothing, so unless Nintendo had some type of scuffle with Camelot, which I doubt since they still produce Mario sport games, then I don't have a reason to believe he won't be playable. There are literally so many characters I want in this new Smash including Geno from SMRPG, but if I could, i would literally scrap all my desired characters for this one character lol!

Sakurai has definitely seen our fanbase, there are so many things that prove this.

Other than that, I really do feel like playing GS again, hopefully they will release it to Switch so I can play it out on the go, would be awesome!

While Isaac isn't my most wanted (Gee, wonder who that title goes to?), he's definitely in my Top 5. I grew up with the original Golden Sun on GBA and understand why the character has such a backing. umm guys idk if this is some kind of supporting evidence or not but i looked back on the credited companies for the smash e3 presentation and I saw camelot in there hope this is a sign that we will see isaac in this as a playable

That was for Tennis Aces. The copyrights were for the whole presentation, not just Smash.

God, I hope that particular line of that leak is true, along with:

Dixie Kong also did pretty well, but was not a front runner. She will be a semi-clone of Diddy Kong in much the same way as Luigi is to Mario.

Shadow may end up being a semi-clone due to some requirements from Sega that may make him a little too different for Sakurai to feel comfortable calling him an echo fighter.

But those aren't on topic.

I don't know why it's so hard for me to imagine that Isaac could've exploded with popularity, because as soon as I saw that and the bit about "high priority", I clung to the leak so hard with love and desire even though I know it's fake.

Haha wow, did this guy steal Sakurai's diary? He has no idea how to craft a believable leak. Apart from Mashed Potato himself, literally the only people that might know all this, such as Sakurai's personal reactions to the ballot and future intentions with the series, not to mention the minutia of third-party negotiations, are upper level producers or a top Nintendo exec, and I'm a bit incredulous that any of those have recently taken to 4chan leaking.

Even if my second most wanted (Banjo & Kazooie) is also somebody I'd lose my mind over, I'd just be happy to get one of them at this point. Getting either still feel likes a far-off dream for me.

It's like no matter how much anecdotal or circumstantial evidence you throw in my face to suggest that Isaac could be on the likely side of probability, I won't be able to believe it until I see it. Even then, I wouldn't be able to immediately process that what I'm seeing is actually reality.

Banjo would be awesome (after Isaac). But given how much trouble Sakurai claimed to have getting all the characters he’s gotten in so far, and all the third parties, I don’t think odds are high for him.

Dark Dawn didn’t really set the world on fire. While it’s possible Sakurai considered Isaac, I think he might have just considered the franchise to not be high profile enough at the time.

Hey nice to see another Isaac and Banjo supporter. There seems to be a good number of them now that I think about it. Also weird you're so pessimistic when I'm so glad their chances are better than they have ever been.

Objectively speaking, I do think it's their best chance. Both had reason to be highly discussed and voted for (+Microsoft's openness to collaborating with Nintendo), and it gives them a better opportunity than they would normally have.

It's just that I can't help but keep my emotions in check out of fear that I'll get too invested in an outcome that may not happen. Because really, I don't know how likely or unlikely they truly are in spite of whatever reasoning I see.

They've never been high, per se, and while I believe they have sizable popularity, I wouldn't be surprised if negotiations would've fallen through thanks to somebody on Microsoft or Nintendo's end not agreeing.
