The neogaf rumor, from page 43 of this thread, said Chrom would be a Roy echo, and also said K. Rool, Simon, and Isaac are coming. It also said Soren and Ken would be echos too though, and Soren would be... very out there.

We'll see, but I hear ya, we're probably getting too hyped now. The disappointment of no playable Isaac would be crushing if we get too carried away.

Hm... Accurately calling Chrom as an echo fighter of Roy is oddly specific. Still, I don't want to think too much into it.

I agree. Chrom as an Echo Fighter was likely from the get-go considering his popularity, however I 100% expected him to be an Ike Echo rather than a Roy Echo, so let's hope there is some merit to those rumors.

That's definitely an oddly accurate prediction, but I don't want to look too much into it. Hopefully we really do get Isaac as playable though.

Alright. So if we look at the playing field, Isabelle and Isaac are the two most notable absent assist trophies that I can name off the top of my head. We've had two highly requested Echoes, Konami just broke us by revealing we can have echo fighters from third parties like Richter, Ashley and Shovel Knight got picked off...

I'm just waiting to see how many AT that makes when we get all the new ones added in. My big thing though, I can't recall if he said this, but did Sakurai say something about revealing all the character designs before launch, because if so... Damn.

I left that Direct feeling hopeful, and with the amount of newcomers and Echoes revealed, I think we can chuck Sakurai's "Don't expect too many newcomers" statement out of the window somewhat, because including Echoes we've had 8 characters revealed for this game so far.

I believe Sakurai said there would be about 50 assists. I believe the assists we have not seen so far are (I might forget some) Skull Kid, the advance wars tanks, Magnus, Kat and Anna, Phosphora, Shadow, Chain chomp, Tingle, Dillon and a few others.

Now that my favorite character ever is confirmed, i can show more support to other characters and Isaac is definitely one of them !

To be honest, i think that he has many chances, he did well during the ballot and there's NO WAY Sakurai didn't see how much fans were disappointed when Isaac got removed from the game. Since this game is about fanservice and Isaac is still not returning as an AT, i think that he could be a playable character. Come on, there's no way Sakurai didn't hear you guys.

Keep believing guys ! You deserve him and i hope you'll have him !

I’m glad to see Isaac live another day... though I’d kinda want confirmation either way sooner rather than later! But seeing Ridley and K. Rool getting in of the ”original big guys”, I’m hoping Isaac will join them too.

I'm going to be honest, but I think we're going to get Isaac this time.

He still wasn't shown as an AT, not to mention King K. Rool and Simon Belmont, characters from different parts of Nintendo's era are now playable. As a matter of fact, Shovel Knight actually got acknowledged by SAlurai due to the amount of noise there has been surrounding him.

You know who was also a big prominent charcater during the ballot, Isaac. Everything is starting to point him being added.

Woah!! I think K. Rool is EXCELLENT news for Isaac fans. He and Isaac were always neck to neck in fan polls, and by extension, hopefully in the ballot as well.
He was the main first party bigshot ahead of Isaac in terms of votes, and now he's in!

That means Sakurai is finally acknowledging fan demand from the ballot! With Ridley and K. Rool in, our Golden Boy has really good chances! He wasn't deconfirmed in trophies either. Here's to a new day where our hopes are as strong as before the direct if not stronger!

I believe he'll make it in as playable!

Also my condolences to the Krystal and Ashley fans.

If nothing else, with the other big names getting eliminated by whatever means, Isaac should become more prevalent in discussions.

Though ultimately I have greater hopes than expectations. I'd just be happy getting the AT back, frankly.

K. Rool is in. So the ballot choices are a thing in this game. With Ashley and Shovel knight (characters that most likely placed higher than Isaac on the ballot) being assist trophies I think things are looking up for our boy. Sakurai already showed a lot of previous assists so Isaac not being among them is a good sign. Personally I believe Sakurai would look at Isaac, and love the challenge of adding him. He crushed Waluigi, Ashley, Lyn, Zero and Shovel Knight supporters in two months, but as D1 said before "We livin"! I'm not giving up on our boy!

It's super scary when the stars aligning for playability doesn't seem unfathomable, but there is the very real possibility of nothingness again. Like, obv some are likelier than others, but none of the three outcomes (playable, AT or nothing) seem abjectly absurd, and that's terrifying.

Isaac finished above all three of them on most polls, didn't he? We've still only seen small pieces of what the full game has to offer (800 non-menu music tracks and 50+ ATs), but it almost felt like they were leaving the door open on purpose.

Which is not good for my emotions.

At this point, I don't know if I could safely rule that out. Heck, I think if Isaac gets in, he's going to end up getting Matthew as an Echo fighter so the sky's the limit!

If Castlevania can get an echo fighter on their first game, there's nothing stopping Isaac and Matthew.

It is legitimately scary thinking about how this direct has shaken up people's expectations. That being said, I doubt Isaac will become a main topic of discussion in say, the general chat. People will be focused on Isabelle/Shadow Echo debates and potential third party inclusions so I think we'll still be quite the niche support group.

Yup. Either tomorrow or Friday, I'll release Episode 12 as an update episode to mourn those who we lost, celebrate those confirmed and re-rate anyone who I feel needs a re-rate (Looking at you, Isabelle, Shadow and Isaac).

Gotta say though, today I compiled all my ratings I've done over the last month and low and behold, all four confirmed characters were within my Top 20 (I've rated 56 characters so far). I had Dark Samus as my most likely newcomer, Chrom at 11th, Simon at 13th and K Rool at 17th. And I did say in my Episode 1 video, I feel either K Rool or Dixie will make it, not both, and so far that's holding pretty true, though it could change at a moment's notice given Metroid's got two new characters.

He was really popular, but as an indie title with no presence in Japan during the design doc phase, he had no chance at playability. The fact he made it in AT ALL is amazing, and only due to the Ballot.

I was just thinking, on the stage select screen there's room for another six stages. As much as I'd like to see Poke Floats return, I get the impression that we've seen all the veteran stages we're going to get and that the remaining six stages will be new. (though I guess on the other hand it could be five new stages plus a "dlc stage" button....though it wouldn't surprise me if we didn't get any dlc stages, with the massive amount we'll have at launch)

Which means these six stages are likely new. Off the top of my head Xenoblade Chronicles X seems like the only remaining game I could see really needing a stage. (especially if Elma gets in) We already have stages for Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey and Splatoon.

I guess we could see an Arms stage, but given Splatoon didn't get a stage in the last game it could miss out this time around in the same way.

I think it's interesting to think about what that could mean for newcomers.

I think the only concern is the gen 7 Pokemon - it’s either possible that A. When they said no gen 7 poke as decidueye/lycanroc they might have meant none at all or B. The Gen 7 poke was decided later in development

This is under the premise that both verge and the Soren guy are not only correct, but 100% correct.

Do you really think Sakurai would leave the stage screen with six blank spots? Irregardless of what DLC could do, I'd imagine he'd want to fill the entire screen in.

103 is just a placeholder number for the stages we know about, there has to be a few more on the way depending on the newcomers we get.

I sort of doubt it. I mean there’s already a lot of empty space in the screen.

But anyways, I think Isaac’s chances have skyrocketed. If the devs heard about Shovel Knight, then I’m sure they know about Isaac with the amount of vocal support he has gotten.

Although, I’m unsure when they’re going to reveal him. When do you guys think he’ll be revealed.
