Yep I got thirty song names compiled on my computer. I figured we should be prepared before Isaac's announcement when it happens. After Isaac is confirmed we'll try get to work on the Isaac celebration video with the fitting songs and I'm also planning to put all thirty songs in a playlist. All we need is for Nintendo to confirm our boy already
Sweet! I can't wait to see that! The real question is what song would fit him the best?

Also, could you someway add the album "A Thousand Suns" too or at least one song from it; "The Catalist" since they mention "sun" in it too? lol ;)

I'm excited to see what songs get picked for the video! I don't think mine will though. A dreamy shoegaze song and a melancholic piano song aren't really great picks for a meme celebration video.

Zeroara? LOL. That's a big not gonna happen (at least for base). And we already have 2 electric types. No. That's just stupid altogether. And the guy only said one assist out of how many that are still missing (like 10+ I think)? And knowing Japanese culture would be easy to guess that whole fitness thing so yeah that leak is absolute nonsense.
I still wish if they give us a Pokemon rep it was someone more...unique. We already have a fire type. I dunno. I just can't feel hype about Incineroar. And I'm trying. It's just not exciting to me (and neither is a Ken echo of Ryu).
Not saying they are bad choices. I'm just...not hyped (but maybe they can make the moveset surprise me we'll see).

The roster was finalized in 2015 (for the most part, if not fully).
Zeraora is literally the most recent pokemon released, in 2018.

How so? Genuinely curious
Some facts about why Medusa is in.. First off Pit's first Smash appearance was a trophy in Melee mentions Palutena and Medusa implying these are the three main characters of the series, Palutena came second now its Medusa's turn.. Also she is the iconic villain of the entire Kid Icarus series and there just so happens to be a villain theme going on.

Kid Icarus is a game Sakurai himself worked on so you'd think considering there is this villain theme, that surely he would add the Kid Icarus villain herself.

Oh btw a good reason for us to want Medusa in is that she kind of resembles that of a Proxian, she looks like she could be like Menardi's cousin so that would work well matching up with Isaac.. Her Death Scythe is all ready in and ready to go. ;)

That reasoning relies very heavily on three things -

1 - That there is actually a villain theme, as so far the only major villains that are playable have been Ridley and King. K Rool, while any other new villains have so far been relegated to a boss character (Dracula and, to an extent, Rathalos). It just so happens that Sakurai's ignored villain characters quite a bit in terms of newcomers in the past, so those highly requested villains are getting the chance they've earned. There's no proof that it's currently a theme at all.

2 - Kid Icarus getting a new rep - Sakurai Bias is a thing, but given the series hasn't had a new game since Uprising and doesn't look to be getting anything coming in 2019, you could make the argument that the series would be a lower priority when looking at newcomers/echoes from returning series compared to franchises that are still getting games now.

3 - The trophy in Melee being relevant towards Smash Ultimate, despite the fact that Melee's Trophy came before Pit's revival in Brawl and could be considered outdated. I personally prefer Medusa to Hades myself from a character design standpoint, but it's hard to deny that Medusa has a bit more competition now than she ever did back when Melee's trophy was created.

Not trying to burst your bubble or anything, I think Medusa could be an interesting character or Echo, but those aren't sure-fire reasons for Medusa to be in Smash.

If Isaac gets in, his tribute song should totally be "I'm Walking On Sunshine". Just captures that feeling of elation perfectly.

We have no impact on base game characters at the given time, so there isn't any "giving up" cause we have no impact outside of DLC atm

Only thing we can do is sit here and chat lol

I haven't played it yet, but I hear its pretty fun. Only difficulty I have with mobile games is, its a bit tough on the fingers and neck

I did pre register for the game, so I should get around to playing it lol
Exactly Q, the roster is done and bugs are being worked through and everything is being shined up for release. All we are waiting for is reveals.
So we have to keep being vocal in case they are looking at fan demand and the ballot for DLC so they know we are still around.

So you guys aren't gonna take advantage of the new attention from the Nintendo audience...? You just gonna put it on Sony's console?

Exclusively?

God, Konami is being lame. Why is it so hard to introduce the Nintendo fans to these franchises? Nintendo fans can't even play Castlevania or MG games on the switch.

The idea of only 2 characters left never made sense to me. We just got to stay hopeful and vocal so that, if we don't make base, we are a sure-fire 1st wave of DLC.

I'll hold onto hope for as long as it takes. Our Golden boy WILL make it into Smash bros. They have to have heard our voices by now.

Anyone else really feeling like Isaac is coming this month? I don't know why, just a feeling?
Yea, same here.
I have absolutely no logical reason for that, but I think we will see him soon.

Altough I have to admit, that I don't know anymore which rumors are going around, because all those leaks annoyed me so much, that I stopped reading about them.
Perhaps I would feel different, if I knew.

In the off chance that the trademark renewal was for Isaac as DLC. I just hope it gets announced as such in the final direct, it'll make the wait that much easier if we know for sure Isaac is coming eventually.

Sucks, cause Nintendo consoles are the perfect place to port these games

But this is still Konami we're talking about. They were bound to make a questionable decision at some point in time.

I dreamed of Isaac being confirmed last night, Sakurai was talking about Smash and said he barely didn't make it in, while showing characters moving their heads like saying "no", then RelaxAlax appeared and said Isaac was a "finalist" and Isaac gets confirmed, everyone was hyped including me and then I woke up.

It feels good to finally have that dream, now I have to wait for his playability being reality.

Because Konami is allergic to good business decisions.

Weird, I though today we would get a date announcement for an hypothetic Smash Direct, but we didn't get anything.

If there's something coming (and it looks so), probably it will be announced 1 day earlier (like the last Nintendo Direct -the original not the delayed-) or maybe they even show directly the trailer of a new character...

Since it was filed in August, I imagine that development on Isaac would've started around that time. Between then and the final direct should give them enough time to at least have a model ready ala Mewtwo.

If they started work on Isaac DLC so many months before launch, they probably did it intending to show him ASAP so they can get the first wave of DLC news out there before the game is even released.

According to the Castlevania article, Sony actively contributed to the creation of the pack, so it's not Konami's fault entirely if Sony was the one funding them to create it in the first place. Don't blame Konami off the bat when Sony's the one keeping it exclusive.

But why did Konami even agree to it in the first place?

Why would Sony fund a stupid port?

Why would anyone at Konami think this is good business sense?

This makes no sense in any universe, Billy. Sony or Konami are in no need of a defense of stupid stuff like this.

I can't say I'm really upset when I already own the PSP Castlevania Collection. Only reason I'd ever consider this new collection is if the used the Saturn version of SotN.

Still lame though things went this way.

Don't take this the wrong way, but would you be calling it a stupid port if it were on the Switch? I don't think you would, but because it's a PS4 exclusive it's a stupid port.

I agree that it makes no business sense given Castlevania is in Smash and Nintendo should get some Castlevania love on their platform in the form of games, but I'm not going to start calling them out when we don't have all the facts here.

Wait a second here, didn't that guy collaborating with Verge or some other "recent" leaker say that the Castlevania was coming to Switch?

I swear someone relatively important did.

I mean, yeah. I feel like this should be a multi-platform collection that should be on PC too. (Like seriously, you can emulate these games on PC. Easily.) Stop putting words and phrases that I haven't said.

These aren't even that hard to emulate. PS1 and PC Engine emulation has gotten ridiculously easy to emulate. So the fact that Konami even NEEDS help from Sony to fund /really/ easy to port games shows how ****ing dumb they are.

*Also, these games are over 20 years old at this point. The fact that Sony (who doesn't even own the IP) is keeping them hostage when they have tons of exclusives already is just ****ing garbage.

Also, this isn't like Bayonetta 2 where they couldn't find any other way to fund it. This isn't a new game.

Also, there is still a TON of 3rd party studios that would be willing to port those games to all platforms with the added benefit of no exclustivity.

It makes sense because they do not have to pay for it (at least not in full). I think the fact that Konami has characters in Smash is for a similar reason (someone else puts in the time/money and they get profit). Konami likely has no intention of actually putting legitimate effort in a video game, which is sad to say but, it seems like Konami is just a sellout now.

Then it's Konami's fault for being lazy ******** then.

Or it's Sony's or Konami's.

Either way, no one in this situation is innocent.

You know, I think the justifications against Echos is not something Sakurai can easily shrug off becauses they are so easy to program. Medusa and Palutena have such similar heights and body structure that modeling is a non issue. Then take into account attacks that can be easily masked over each other.

It is like how echos such as Funky Kong and Ninten would be so easy to implement.

Note: Not going to lie, but my most wanted echo behind Funky Kong is Felix.

I think I found the Castlevania bit in question.

"
Castelvania is making a comeback with two new titles.
I believe each are multiplatform releases (one may be Switch exclusive but haven't been able to verify that). One is a new title and the other a collection of classic Castlevania games, with Symphony of the Night being the headline game.

I heard a few months back that Wii's Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth would be coming to Switch, so it's probably part of that collection of classic Castlevania games.
But I'm not entirely sure if there's connection between my hearing that back then and this info pretty recently about these Castlevania games.
But this info about the two Castlevania games come from someone mighty reputable (who also has heard the same Smash leaks that I have, in case you are curious) so I have no reason to not believe them first and foremost.
Meaning, put that information in front of Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth re-releasing on Switch. Though there is a possible overlap between the two things and part of the compilation." - Verge, a few months ago.

He was wrong about them being multi-system, it seems.

Edit: this is a Smash source that wasn't right. That's a little big

OK I dreamed about Isaac too. He was having a cooking contest ala Shokugeki no Soma versus some random guy, cooking fresh vegetables with his psynergy. Smashing the pasta with his psynergy hands. And then attached his scarf like Soma attaches his bandage around his head. Isaac serves Sakurai and the man full of joy and having a foodgasm acknowledges Isaac to finally join Smash.

Man the duel and cooking of Isaac was so damn epic xD

V's armor is starting to crack, I like that.

Also, between this, the PC Engine release, the out-of-the-way PSP port and the Dracula X SNES version, this is the most convenient option for playing Rondo for me anyways (apart from that fandub ROM). At least they only charge you 20 bucks for both games (so far).

Weird, I though today we would get a date announcement for an hypothetic Smash Direct, but we didn't get anything.

Whatever the case, they may say something tomorrow. The gun was jumped by people assuming we could have gotten it today.
