Kinda sums up a lot of Fates characters to be honest. Fates has like a dozen good characters total out of more than 60.

That's why I'm hesitant to get Fates, and instead get echoes.

Makes me really curious to see his reaction to Isaac's reveal. It's hard to say what he will do since I remember him responding to a comment about Golden Sun saying its a dead series and it's never coming back. So, he does know Golden Sun to an extent. Not sure how far though.

I like Etika but I find his community annoying. The porn replies to his tweets, the complaining about a lack of streams when they're getting content basically for free. I don't know, maybe I just don't get it because I don't watch YouTube very often anymore. Etika himself seems like a good guy though, and he even acknowledged characters like Isaac and Lloyd back in the day (I specifically remember it from that 11 hour stream he did when all the characters were leaked for Smash 4.)

I'd still argue he's still a significant character.

You gotta remember that SMRPG was a huge hit for Square, and it was towards the end of the SNES's life cycle, and it boosted the popularity of Square.

And it was also the end of the relationship of Square and Nintendo too.

Gene is a significant character.

As much as Isaac or Skull kid? That's debatable.

We ABSOLUTELY will! I've already joined in a Golden Sun and Shining Force Discord. I really want us to get the attention of Camelot (most specifically, the Takahashi Brothers), Nintendo, and Sega.

Echoes was great! Fates is a very fun game to play, unfortunately they tried to split the story into 3 variations which really killed various character interactions and development. Corrin being the biggest victim of that. If they simply focused on ONE story then all those characters including Corrin had the potential to be some of the greatest characters Fire Emblem ever produced. Sadly they went the Pokémon route and couldn’t handle variations. Smh

To me, FE has different groups
Classic: FE 1-3
The most different: 4-5
GBA Golden Era 6-9
Ike 9-10
New Age 11-12


There is so much drama and hate within the community.
Did awakening save FE? Yes
Did awakening start a old vs new war? Yes
Did fates throw so much oil in the fire because it catered to the new and not the old fans?
Big time.

If you want to play FE and get into it you have different sections to go into

Want classic NES stuff?
1-3
Want classic NES stuff but updated?
SoV
Want big maps and good story?
4-5
Want (imo) the best turn based FE game? 7 then 6 then 8
Want 6-9 but in 3d?

Want to dip your toes into FE?

But don't start off with fates.
It's hard to turn back from that game to try older stuff.

- The waifu thing has gone from a joke to creepy territory. Especially his obsession with Corrin's feet.
- His reactions really have gone from hilariously over-the-top to really boring. His K. Rool one especially - God, shut up for two seconds and watch the damn trailer instead of ranting.
- He says that certain word that starts with "n" way too much. Again, it went from being occassionally funny to just being childish and obnoxious. I'm not gonna pretend I know the guy, but it seems like he's playing a character too much.

To be fair (and I use that term lightly), he did state that he never grew up with the DKC series before, so to him, he's not that hyped for him, but more excited that the "leaks" we're real.

Jeez, I can't believe just how much this specific thread has taken off post August Direct. To be honest it scares me a little because the only other time I've ever seen this kind of blow out was... Ashley after E3...

That said, the picture is a giant reason for this increase in traffic I imagine, as well as good amount of the other two big communities coming over now that those characters have had their fates sealed in the base game.

I'm glad to see this continued support of Isaac, and even more importantly, it does seem like a genuinely high number of people like him and even voted for him in the Smash ballot as I continue to read through the comments. So I'm ever hopeful for his inclusion in the game.

Hey, just dropping by to say that while I'm not a huge Golden Sun fan by any means, I've always thought Isaac would have a great moveset and really deserves to get in. I'm surprised he didn't make it in Smash 4, and was definitely disappointed to see him just completely missing in action. When the ballot came around I did vote for him (and a couple other people), so I really hope it ends up well for you guys! You've waited long enough and your patience deserves to be rewarded.

Isaac's presence has always been more popular in other regions', so no surprise there.
