I am too, I can finally update my signature. They also updated the mains list. Seems I was wrong about it not being updated until overseas release. Glad I was wrong.
Count them. 64 playable characters(in spirit), and Sakurai himself counts them all as separate fighters. Mind==BlownOh, neat. They've updated the heads
Thats a lot of characters.
Sakurai doesn't count then seperate skins. Only if they have gameplay differences. We have 49 different characters, I believe.Count them. 64 playable characters(in spirit), and Sakurai himself counts them all as separate fighters. Mind==Blown
Oh, I see. 49 is still a massive amount of playable characters. If (Characters==49) {Mind==Still_Blown}Sakurai doesn't count then seperate skins. Only if they have gameplay differences. We have 49 different characters, I believe.
I think he just counted all the individual flares. How did you get 64?
Did you count the gender swap, WireFrame and Classic Wario as seperate?
Also the roster is 51, Mii's take up 3 characters just like PKMN trainer.
Doubt it, I think that equals 66 because of Mii Fighters headsI think he just counted all the individual flares.
He's received several adjustments. The most notable ones are that his consecutive attacks (i.e. Arm Rotor and up aerial) now have finishers making them more practical, and his full charged Robo Beam now fires a large projectile that has limited range.I looove playing as ROB. Probably my favorite in Brawl. How is he in 4?
From the footage I have seen he looks very solid indeed:I looove playing as ROB. Probably my favorite in Brawl. How is he in 4?
He doesn't really mix up in the air as much, but instead bait out air dodges and force frame traps onto his opponents with the use of uair and nair. This is all Brawl stuff and didn't really change in 3DS.The side B is good for mix-ups... on the ground at least. What does ROB have for midair mix-ups? Is the side B good in the air too?
Atm he's good, but I'm honestly worried that it's the syndrome from Brawl where he starts out good, then drops. He is better than Brawl, but I still feel that he's punishable in some similar type aspects that can cause him to drop, though things like a more reliable reflector, better recovery, and usmash will help him a lot. I don't think the usage of him will rise toooo much, since he's still a very awkward character from the rest of the cast that doesn't play similar to anyone too much, so people can't easily pick him up without some dedication. How competitively viable do you think ROB will be in sm4sh? Do you think we will see a rise in ROB mains and possibly major tournaments won with him?
His attacks seem faster or the same, and minimal landing lag compared to the cast overall. His dash speed is around the same. His falling speed seems to be greater (ty). His horizontal air speed is the same or worse, and is definitely worse while in up B (one of the worst nerfs to him, but recoveries across the board in this game were nerfed). How much speed does R.O.B. have? Including Ground, Air and Attack speed?
Huh? I thought most recoveries have been buffed. He doesn't really mix up in the air as much, but instead bait out air dodges and force frame traps onto his opponents with the use of uair and nair. This is all Brawl stuff and didn't really change in 3DS.

I seem to be missing one - the three I've found are 459, 511 and 521. Either way, every character seems to have an additional trophy with an alternate colour (And no way is Red Rosalina going to be default anywhere, for example) so I don't see how the trophies suggest that. Moreover, if both colours and both trophies are available in each region I don't see what the problem is either way.According to this http://smashbros-miiverse.com/items/trophies
R.O.B. has 4 trophies, and I don't like what it suggests.
It seems to suggest that NES R.O.B. will be R.O.B.s Default overseas. Can anyone compare the two R.O.B. renders to the one in the leak?
Please don't let this be the case.
Even if NES was default, why does it matter? Press X once and you're good. Plus smash hros 4 remembers your colors this time around.According to this http://smashbros-miiverse.com/items/trophies

Between the new F-Smash and Side B as well as buffed Up Smash and Up Air, R.O.B. looks to be a bit better at taking the stock now.I think ROB has a very good chance of being top tier, or at least higher than c- tier.
ROB has always been know for his gimp ability, it was prominent in brawl and it hasn't seemed to be changed.
But, in brawl he dropped on the tier list due to his lack of kill moves and slow falling speed. Both of these things have changed.
He still doesn't have a lot of good kill moves, but his gimp ability is as good as ever. In smash bros 4, it looks like gimping is the primary way of KOing people. I think he will be in the higher tiers due to his good recovery and gimpability.
Robs terrible match up was a deciding factor in his tier placement, yes.Between the new F-Smash and Side B as well as buffed Up Smash and Up Air, R.O.B. looks to be a bit better at taking the stock now.
I'll straight up admit to having never been involved in a competitive smash scene but from what I have read, wasn't the Meta Knight's ubiquity one of the reasons R.O.B. fell down the tier list thanks to his unfavourable matchup? With MK nerfed, it being less common and potentially having a more even matchup against R.O.B. could feasibly result in R.O.B. performing better without even considering whet
I agree. I remember coming across this: http://www.ssbwiki.com/R.O.B._(SSBB)#Tier_placement_and_history Very interesting. Metaknight did affect ROBs placement in the tier list. I wonder if Metaknight being nefed means characters like ROB would be more competitive. Aside from his buffs, of course.Robs terrible match up was a deciding factor in his tier placement, yes.
Possibly. I'm not sure of meta knight changes, but unless he got some really good kill moves Rob v Mk might be a good match upI agree. I don't understand why this worries you so much. Do you see my avatar? That's the "ROBOT unlocked!!" Screen. His default is famicom colors.Well, comparing NES R.O.B. to the leaked R.O.B., I don't think they match
Looks closer to red, which means Famicon is the default I think.
Although they could change, since the Tharja Trophy was removed. I still prefer having the superior red design as default, even if it doesn't take much to switch over.
What do you guys think?
Comes down to preference, but I think so. They don't make a huge difference tbqh. I like the quicker upB and used to like fire gyro but not anymore. Fire gyro does more damage I believe but less range on shooting it.Are any of R.O.B's customs worth using?
Nope :/Can you still short hop double fair?
Yeah, it was a pretty easy transition. Some changes for sure, but not bad.Does he transfer over well from brawl rob? Were you able to jump in and pretty much get what you were doing?
Sorta yes, but you need to be careful due to invincibility changes. Don't focus on it.01000011011000010110111000100000011010000110010100100000011100110111010001101001011011000110110000100000011000110110000101101101011100000010000001110100011010000110010100100000011011000110010101100100011001110110010100111111
I don't believe that's what it was - I think he was just shooting it. It comes out VERY fast in Smash 4 compared to Brawl.Hey @ CT Chia , what do you think about 's Gyro having an active hit-box while charging it?

It's at 9:08. Thoughts?
Close enoughWell, since every other character forum has a Q&A thread, I edited the title and stickied it. That okay with you, @ CT Chia ?
I can give you some barebones answersIs it just me, or does ROB have slightly less air time? Also, what is the difference between ROBs up-b alts; How do they work differently from each other?
