Okay who would win in a fight Sonic the Hedgehog or Akuma from street fighter My friend just won't face the facts.

"And on Topic" Im really looking forword to SF4, I really want to play as El Fuerte, he looks fun and fast despite his weakness.
Lols.

I think it'd be funny to see sonic squirming in a pool of his own blood once akuma got done with his punk ***.

I agree with Mithx. Raging Demon > Steak Spin Attack

Also, I just watched this. So much camping lol. It's like a Brawl match.

Big difference between brawl and the post match up, Brawl itself is inherently "camping", while in this match up's case, players are utilizing what makes these characters strong. Sim is playing to his advantage by out poking Sagat to the ground. However Sagat is utilizing his advantages as well, which is a much more potent and powerful long range projectile game.

I saw a bit while back, however RF misses alot of opportunities to land his Ultra, and screws up alot. Also, most importantly, it seems like he never knew what to do against any of Sim's shenanigans. Not to take anything away from Iyo, because the dude was beasting with Dhalsim way back in CvS2, however he's just incorporating some of those strategies over to SF:IV.

Imo, RF had alot of missed opportunities way, more so then Iyo did, and RF didn't seem to have alot of knowledge fighting Sim, because imo, this match up can really go either way, since Sim can out zone poke Sagat, however off of one mistake, Sagat can turn the tide on a whim.

Yet, I still stand, that Sim is a force in this game, when played correctly, as what Iyo did here.

too many pages too search thru so i dnt kno if its been posted..but lots of HD vids in there
I've been watching those vids before, but none of them were ever posted in this thread. So it's all good. Lot of good Ken videos in there too.

I've been playing SFA3 lately since I need something to keep me preoccupied before the release date. V-ism's cheap...
It's giving me good practice with an arcade stick though.

I'll be going to this. The official rules say that we'll have to use controllers provided by Gamestop. I'm still crossing my fingers for at least fight pads.
I'm also glad that the tourney's on a Saturday. Gives me plenty of time to practice.

Edit: No unlockable characters!? I guess I won't be able to use Gen...
And I'm also expecting a flood of Ryu players now.

Not quite, there's actually a tourney in my town this time! Also, you get time to practice; first round starts, like, the week after launch!

Also, there probably will be a lot of Ryus. Who's his worst matchup?

Edit: Also, which SF game does this seem the most similar to? Would HDR be the best way to get caught up on, like, five-ish years without really getting into a Street Figher?

Edit: Would spamming fireballs with Rose and reflecting or absorbing (if they can figure out a QCF+P )them be a good way to deal with the total n00b-zor's?

I'm really looking forward to Akuma/Rose. And I think I might pick up Cammy for the lulz.

I might put Brawl on the shelf for a good long while after getting this game into my hands.

I kid I kid. I joke I joke.

Anyways get this, I recently went to a Street Fighter Tourney and Justin Wong was there. I could have taken him on with my Ryu, but I didn't have my PS3 controller handy, and I really suck with an arcade joystick. X_X Oh well...

@ KosukeKGA, I think that the only way to really get better is to fight other people because the computer is not going to give you the experience that you need. A human opponent is capable of showing you the flaws in one's gameplay. Thankfully their is going to be online so their should always be someone to play against instead of constantly fighting the cpu.

There's an extensive training mode in this game that'll teach you basic combos to complex pro combos, so that'll be a great way to practice. They really put a lot of work into so new people can get better.

If online is good enough, you can just play other people to get better.
Fighting computers won't make you the best, but they'll help you improve a great deal. They have better AI than Smash games do, that's for sure.

You should really try using a joystick once in awhile. The learning curve may be difficult, but it's a good investment in the long run. Trust me on this.

I'm so hyped for this game. It's been a long time since I've been hyped for a fighting game. I think the last one was Soul Calibur 2. I plan on picking up 2 of the MadCatz gamepads for my 360. I'd pick up the tournament stick but it's out of my price range. I'll most likely be playing M. Bison and try Rose out.

I tried and failed epically. X_X I just can't pull out my whole bag of sick nasty tricks of the trade with a joystick. Sigh...if only arcades had D-pads...

Plus! Justin Wong was You Tubing his matches, and I was not trying to get humiliated. I will promise you this though. On my birthday (February 8th) he's going to another convention around my neck of the woods. I WIIL beat him!

Good luck with that.
I got creamed by him in TvC.

If I were you, try using a joystick just for fun if you're bored. It makes you relearn the game over again so it feels nice and fresh.

I know defeating him is like Mission Impossible; nevertheless, I'm gonna give it my all and come out on top. Heh...that is if I can get through the lines of competitors so that I may have a shot at em.

Hmmmm...well, as far as friendlies are concerned, I may take you up on your offer and give the joystick a try, but only with charge characters like Balrog and Blanka.

@Grunt: I'm guessing your're left handed. I hope they make a controller that tends to your needs.

-----------------------

Edit: I know these trailer videos are old, but they are GREAT nevertheless. Also, when I first watched the Akuma/Gouki one, when he came outta nowhere and his left eye was glowing crimson red I.......

.......felt that massive killing intent. I was like "Ohhhh boy! Somebody's about to get ****** UP the Yin Yang!"

Enter Akuma: The Supreme Master of Fists http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOlzG2w8UwM
Enter Gouken: Master of the Legendary Double Hadoken http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ0fEeccsfA
-------------------
This power can be yours come sometime in February.

I'm right handed.
I've just either done better on pads, or switched my hands. doing circles with my left hand is hard on joysticks since they're so stiff.

Well I'm ambidextrous... Just had to point that out.

So regardless of the stupid Gamestop rules, I'll be entering Round 1. I hope some scrub doesn't beat me because of the stupid 360 controller.

Anyone think Sheng Long'll be any good? I really wanna try him considering EGM has teased us about him for so long, but they're finally putting him in a game.

Sheng Long=Shoryuken mistranslation turned EGM (R.I.P) made hoax character.
Gouken=Ryu/Ken's OFFICIAL teacher who's SF4 design takes some elements from the Sheng Long legend (one handed Hadouken's, ability to shoot 2 hadouken's quickly).

Anyway, he seems pretty neat with his throw into Super or Ultra.

As far as we know, Gouken may be a little broken. No one has noticed any changes from his arcade boss-version just yet.

Wow Fei-Long's command throw to super/ultra is beast.
Was there a video demonstrating that? I remember hearing that linking an ultra from a command throw wouldn't work.

Or maybe it was that the damge output wasn't great. I can't remember.
