Some of the existing guest characters might get new stages but I have a feeling they'll just keep the old ones since stuff like Pac-Maze, Wily's Castle, and Green Hill Zone are already really good choices. Even though Sonic got that Lost World stage I think that was a special case considering that Nintendo exclusive deal SEGA had with Nintendo back then, and afaik the only other choices would be something from Sonic Boom (gross) or a Classic Sonic throwback in which case we already have Green Hill Zone.

Please, oh please, let the stage selection be not flaming garbage this time. Every time I played Smash 4 it seemed like I was stuck on some labyrinthine cluster**** or some stage boss like poor Ridley wouldn’t leave us the **** alone. Either that or I had a whole 50 different Final Destinations to chose from. I wouldn’t mind a much smaller stage selection with them all being high quality with a well-made “simple” version (for competitive matches) and a more unique version for throwaway matches.

Really for specific stages I’d love to see a Metroid stage that isn’t “I have never played a Metroid game, I think they have lava” and Bowser’s Castle. While I’m dreaming I’d love a Wario Land stage and a trillion dollars.

Wow! I like those stages! Luigi does need a new stage besides Luigi's Mansion. R.O.B. needs his own stage and that stage you made looks fantastic! I like Doshin the Giant stage a lot! It reminds me of the early Gamecube years.

This but for Donkey Kong. I'm so tired of generic jungles (Jungle Hijinxs is the only really good one, imo). I'd love to get a DK stage based on the factory, pirate ship, or bramble levels.

Bowser's castle is a good idea for a stage, but have you considered the Bowser Express from Mario 3D World?

I think Fourside should return as a stage, but with a twist. It starts out as normal Fourside, but this time it's during the day. Suddenly, night falls, the buildings turn bright neon colors, and melting clocks start to appear and attack fighters. Fourside has turned into Moonside! This lasts for around a minute before it goes back to Fourside. the only change to Fourside I would make besides Moonside and the time of day would be to remove the UFO. It never really made sense anyways since big UFOs never appeared in Earthbound besides the intro, and with the helicopter and melting clocks it would be to much to have a UFO in there.

Moonside sounds neato, but having the stage cycle between Fourside and Moonside sounds a bit distracting. Maybe it could be an alternate form of the stage, kind of like World 1-1 and World 1-2 in Mushroomy Kingdom, and you could hold down a button when you select the stage to guarantee Moonside.

Also, since Jungle Hijinxs did the foreground/background thing, I'd kill for a stage based on Virtual Boy Wario Land that has the same gimmick.

It'd be cool to have a Virtual Boy themed stage, acting as a throwback to a dark point in Nintendo's history. Plus, we need more Wario stages, so Wario Land on the Virtual Boy would be very good. Concerning Fourside and Moonside, while I think players will likely have enough time to adjust to the changing stage, I do see your point that there should be a way to just play Fourside or Moonside.

I thought of an idea.

Every stage should have a version with Wild Pokemon hazards, even those that don't nominally come from the Pokemon series. The Pokemon that appear on each stage would be themed to each stage.

For instance - Summit would have Ice-types as their hazards and Pokemon like Seel and Empoleon.

I think Fox can be see riding on Corneria in the Everyone is Here trailer. All of the Melee stages are getting facelifts it seems. Isle Delfino might be indirectly confirmed since they were playing its music throughout the trailer. I just assumed Flat Zone X is in since you see the lion on a tree in Mr. Game & Watch’s character video. Seems kind of silly to separate them now, but they could very well be separated. Also, GameXplain discovered Smashville and Super Mario Maker. I added those to my list which means we are sitting on 84 stages.

I’m starting to think we’re gonna have every single stage in Smash history (plus new stages) in this game

I’d absolutely ADORE a new Megaman stage, and that goes double for Sonic. I’m lacking an idea for a Megaman stage, (maybe a runthrough of the original stages from Megaman 1?) but what I’d really want from Sonic is a Chemical Plant stage, as a combo of both it’s Generations/Mania form, and it’s apperances in Forces. You could do neat things with all the mechanics introduced in each game. The water could rush in occasionally in certain spots, dragging the opponent up to their doom, or maybe you could push switches to make certain jelly like platforms bouncier.

Another neat stage would be a more traditional Street Fighter stage. Not sure what it would be exactly, but it would be flat and appear to be small at first, but moving left and right scrolls the screen with you, potentially either leaving players in the dust to get KO’d, or dragging them along with you, not sure which. It would be a really weird stage for sure, but aside from that little gimmick it would probably lack hazards entierly. I mean...they already did a neat little thing where Ryu faces a one on one opponent at all times, so why not have a more “traditional” fighting game stage. XD

I'd imagine it would need some kind of sorting. With the demo we have 'normal' stages so maybe the constantly moving stages will be separate, same with the 'super large' stages like Temple and bigger (Great Cave, New Pork, Palitena's).

Maybe also a method of sorting by series?

I had thought about sorting them by first appearance, with 4 screens (like the Base stages and DLC folders on the Wii U).
Anyway, I'm still rooting for Hanenbow (in truth this is my #1 biggest concern for the game, laughable as it might sound). It would be such a darn shame if the Electroplankton universe did not appear in the Ultimate version of Smash, especially since it would be the sole universe from the series that got dropped.
