Is the "WTF" character and the "never been seen full-body" character one in the same? Or is it a predictable never been seen full body character and a unpredictable WTF character?

Also why are you guys assuming that this no body character doesn't have a body at all? It could easily be a character who has a body but is always viewed in game to where you can't see all of them. Like an NPC behind a counter or something like that.

Because anyone privy to the Mother franchise knows what Giygas looks like. He's what Mewtwo was based off of design wise.

I know I know, but just as we take every leak with two big scoops of salt I think it's also important to question the leaker's knowledge of the subject. Especially in the case of broad sweeping statements like we have here. Perhaps the leaker did not know that Giygas looked a lot like Mewtwo and was surprised to seem him in a non nightmare fuel form. I'm just saying we can't just assume that the leaker absolutely knows their stuff, but you're probably right. Porky has a better chance than Giygas in any case.

First of all, I definitely think this is fake. But I feel like entertaining it just for the heck of it, so here are my interpretations of each part:

* None of the original 8 characters are solo-stars for their series anymore.

Strange that it doesn't say the original 12, so we'll stick with the 8 starters from Smash 64. The only characters repping a series by themselves up until this point have been Yoshi and Samus...but Samus is very iffy because it all depends on if ZSS is counted as a different character from standard Samus. We'll assume them as one character though. For Yoshi, I think the only real possibility is a Yoshi + Baby Mario combo. Kamek doesn't really merit a spot on the roster, I don't think, and the only other possibility is if this guy misinterpreted Bowser Jr. as being Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island. For the Metroid series, the most wanted and deserving choice is obviously Ridley. The only other options would really be Adam or Anthony, but they don't fit the second part of the leak, which is...

* None of the unannounced newcomers I saw have been in only one game.

This rules out Chrom, Lucina, Wonder Red, and Shulk if it's true, who are some fairly frequently-predicted characters, along with a handful of others. Not Mike Jones though! (just sayin') Also Takamaru can still be in at this point

* Size doesn’t matter in the Smash Brothers Universe.

This is clearly pointing to Ridley, since his size is the most debated reason as to why he couldn't be included.

* A surprising newcomer makes an appearance who has never been seen full-body before.

There are only a few characters I can think of that fit the bill here: Andross (who we have seen as an assist trophy, but only in his classic mechanical face form), Dr. Kawashima, and some iteration of Master Hand/Crazy Hand. If anything, I would lean towards Andross the most...but I still can't see that happening really, as much as I like him.

* Ice Climbers aren’t the only team character anymore.

Rosalina and Luma already confirm this one, so it's not much of a surprise. Unless he's referring to a Diddy and Dixie combo, which doesn't seem like it will be happening.

* There’s still another surprising “WTF” character to be revealed.

This could be anyone, but it has to be a character that very few are expecting. I will reiterate Mike Jones just because...but there's also Chibi-Robo, Ray, etc. This is pretty general and tough to nail down.

* There are no characters sharing the same final smashes this time around (except transformation/team characters).

So long, multiple lame Landmasters!

* Third party characters earn that title by having three parties.

I think this just means there will be three third party characters. We already have Sonic and Mega Man, so the real question here is if Snake would return or if we'll get one of two things:

a) a new Konami representative, who I assume would very likely be a Castlevania character (hopefully Simon Belmont)
b) a potential Namco Bandai rep, who would very likely be Pac Man.

As much as I'd like to see a Belmont enter the ring, I would hate to see Snake leave the series.

But yeah, I don't trust this leak as far as I can throw it...and since it's just composed of a mass of 1's and 0's somewhere on the vast, disgusting void that is the internet, I can't really throw it anywhere.

That leak is one of the weirdest things I've ever read. It's so...vague, but not vague enough and yet at the same time, so...weird. It's like it's playing Clue with the speculators.

What kind of leaker puts "Size doesn't matter in a Smash game" in a leak? Not only has Sakurai basically said that already, so it's a stupid point to reiterate, but what purpose does it serve? Why not just say the other Metroid character is Ridley if that's the case?

If this somehow turns out to be true, I'd be disappointed in no Shulk, but would be hoping they knew enough about Takamaru to know he appeared in more than one game.

Still, it smells super ****ing fake.

That was pretty much my first thought when I read the leak. No way Nintendo would pass up the opportunity to earn some good will by letting people know they're giving sick kids their wishes. Even if Nintendo did want to keep it a secret (for whatever reason - maybe to protect the kid's privacy?) then I'm sure the media would still hear about it somehow.

If it's a Yoshi's Story character who's in more than one Yoshi game, that means Shy Guy (which I would LOVE, btw), Baby Bowser, or Poochy.

Since nobody replied yet, Kamek appeared at least in Yoshis Island, Yoshis Island DS and Yoshis New Island.

What if the new fighter whose full body has never been revealed and the new WTF-fighter are one in the same.

Master hand has been around since day one of smash and miis have been floating around in the realm of possible new fighters.
This is kinda out there but stick with me, what if the explanation is as follows: the mii (a character representing you) has two "master hands" and fights with moves from the move-set of both master and crazy hand (This could even cover the new duo-fighter if you wanna push the envelope!).

The master hand and mii share a concept: they are both technically representations of the player. The master hand has been around since day one of smash and acted as a being that controls the trophies or dolls that the characters were represented as. He (it?) acted as the kid who was literally playing pretend in his bedroom and gave smash bros a reason to exist; and the mii is... well yeah.

I dunno, just a far-fetched thought I had... it would be an interesting way for sakurai to incorporate the master hand and a tricky excuse to include miis.

Welcome to the forums man! Interesting concept, but I'm pretty sure it would be a bit OP. And if I had a say in that decision I would keep the two separate and have a "master man" character and (although I'm not a huge Mii fan) Mii using things from different games (clubs, bats, magic, musical instruments, etc. etc.).

While that's an interesting idea, I'd like to point out that moveset discussion is probably more suited to the character discussion thread than the rumours thrad.

Well, the Poltergeist was such an obvious addition this time around, so this shouldn't really affect anything, even if something predicted he'd have it. However, it certainly does kill any leaks that said he wouldn't have it. (And also probably the E. Gadd one.)

I know this is fake, but Chrom and Lucina were in Monster Hunter 4, and they are set to appear in SMT x Tensei, so no they are not in any way ruled out.

Yea but most things that aren't safe are unlikely to happen in the first place and furthermore are unlikely to be revealed until the game is released. Unless its something at E3 I'd say that most leaks will have safe things in them.
