SSB4 Rumours and Leaks

It is Mario, Link, Samus, Yoshi, DK, Pikachu, Fox and Kirby. Only Yoshi has only 1 charater and Samus (Metroid) has only 1 roster spot but 2 characters.

I hope this means you can switch into Baby Mario with Yoshi. :C

* There’s still another surprising “WTF” character to be revealed.
That's a bit too vague to guess at. For all we know it's a Koopa Troopa.
* There are no characters sharing the same final smashes this time around (except transformation/team characters).
Cool, no more 3 Landmasters.
* Third party characters earn that title by having three parties.
Either this means that their'll be 3 3rd Party characters, or that they have each been in three other Crossover games before.

My analysis.

Things I believe point towards the leaks being fake on the front page:

Betternet Leak:
1) New Pokemon Trainer (telling you right now it isn't going to happen)
2) Lots of obvious points (release date at E3, Little Mac, etc...)
3) At this point in development, I don't think people can say cuts have been made yet. Sakurai isn't planning on going cut crazy, so cutting 4 characters is quite a bit

Calling this fake

Jumpman Leak:
1) Jumpman IS Mario
2) Roster will likely be over 40 characters. For it to be 40 at this point, there would need to be 4 cuts made.
3) Makes plenty of generally easy predictions on Assist Trophies

I think this is fake as well

Can't prove they're fake, and I have feelings similar to this on all but the Palutena Leak. They all just seem...too generalized or too fan specific. Hard to explain.

May I just remind everyone that Kamek wasn't in Yoshi's Story?

If it's a Yoshi's Story character who's in more than one Yoshi game, that means Shy Guy (which I would LOVE, btw), Baby Bowser, or Poochy.

Details don’t matter, but my kid brother is sick and so he and I recently got the opportunity to play the new Smash Brothers for the Wii U thanks to some charitable donations and good people at Nintendo. It wasn’t a complete version, obviously, and I signed a non-disclosure saying I wouldn’t reveal anything specific about it, but I don’t see why I can’t drop a couple of fun hints for the other fans out there. And your tumblr was my favorite place to keep up on Smash news and analysis so here ya go!

Again, the game wasn’t complete and I think they’re working on adding in more characters, items, and stages than what I saw, but I didn’t want to give away too much anyway. It’s so much more fun to get surprised on that first time you sit down to play … but suspense-building hints make the wait more fun too.

Metroid gets another rep + size doesn't matter... Ridley confirmed?

I really hope that the new team character is Chrom + Lucina...

Well that could be deduced from the comment if it was grammatically incorrect. The way he phrased it, it would be a quality of each character. However, if he messed up his grammar and was referring to Smash having 3 parties, then I guess that could be what he meant.

So if this new leak is true (which i doubt it is) then the following is potentially true:
- Ice Climbers return for sure
- Ridley and potentially a Yoshi's Island character are in
- Dixie-Diddy Tag Team potentially still could be a thing unless it was referring to Rosalina
- Either Snake is cut or no more 3rd parties
- Another WTF character who's appeared in more than one game
- Somebody who hasnt been seen full body that isnt Andross confirmed
- Falco FINALLY has an Arwing Final Smash
- There is no new Fire Emblem rep

To be fair, so is Dr. Mario.

Dr. Mario is different enough from vanilla Mario to still stand on his own as a (clone, but still...) character. There is literally nothing Mario did as Jumpman that he hasn't done later in the series, period.

First indicator that it was fake was "my kid brother is sick". Seriously, people are just reusing the same back stories from pre Brawl to explain how they got their info. Dude tries too hard to be ambiguous to play on peoples intuition. It's not even worth analyzing.. The fake Nester was more entertaining. At least it had a considerable amount of effort and creativity..

Personally none of the leaks presented so far have a leg to stand on IMO except for the Palutena one.

Yeah I doubt the Sick Boy leak is true.
Like Scoliosis said earlier I really don't see any truly convincing leaks except for the legendary Palutena leak.
