Details don’t matter, but my kid brother is sick and so he and I recently got the opportunity to play the new Smash Brothers for the Wii U thanks to some charitable donations and good people at Nintendo. It wasn’t a complete version, obviously, and I signed a non-disclosure saying I wouldn’t reveal anything specific about it, but I don’t see why I can’t drop a couple of fun hints for the other fans out there. And your tumblr was my favorite place to keep up on Smash news and analysis so here ya go!

* None of the original 8 characters are solo-stars for their series anymore.

* None of the unannounced newcomers I saw have been in only one game.

* Size doesn’t matter in the Smash Brothers Universe.

* A surprising newcomer makes an appearance who has never been seen full-body before.

* Ice Climbers aren’t the only team character anymore.

* There’s still another surprising “WTF” character to be revealed.

* There are no characters sharing the same final smashes this time around (except transformation/team characters).

* Third party characters earn that title by having three parties.

Again, the game wasn’t complete and I think they’re working on adding in more characters, items, and stages than what I saw, but I didn’t want to give away too much anyway. It’s so much more fun to get surprised on that first time you sit down to play … but suspense-building hints make the wait more fun too.

1 that one is really really iffy yoshi and the captain I really doubt are getting another rep

2 say goodnight to this if captain rainbow is playable

3 if that was before the ninten dog picture with sakurai saying size does not matter (in a way) that will help this rumor

4 andross is all I can think off but he's already deconfirm can someone tell me some more characters with no full body

5 duuuuh rosalina & luma is the characters that makes that part confirmed

6 ok that would be Mach rider or duck hunt dog or captain rainbow (unless its a veteran then its R.O.B)

7 if falco and wolf to fox and toon link to link don't have the same final smashes I say legit for this

because it's tough to find another character in the Yoshi universe deserving of a spot in a Nintendo All-Star game.

Baby Mario wouldn't work solo. Not sure if you can classify him as a rep of the Yoshi series when he isn't on his back. Maybe if he was paired with Baby Luigi. But then again Baby Mario and Baby Luigi have never paired up together in a Yoshi series, they have in a Mario series.

Baby Bowser would not be put in before Bowser Jr.

Kamek is possible, but I'd see him more of an assist trophy.

Poochy wouldn't work.

Bandit would be a really interesting rep. But once again he's more of an assist trophy.

A lot of the main enemies like Shy Guys and Koopas don't represent the Yoshi series.

Some original enemies like the Baseball Bros and Fuzzies are unique but not possible. I'd see them as assist trophies. (how awesome would a fuzzy trophy be when you touch it the screen looks like it's on acid)

Yoshi's story doesn't offer any options character wise.

Yoshi's Island DS shows off some more babies, but DK, Peach and Wario do not represent the Yoshi series in any way.

Baby Mario, Bandit and Kamek are the top 3 reasonable choices.
Kamek is iffy because Magikoopa's have existed in the Mario universe before this game
Bandit had a big role of being Yoshi's main rival throughout Yoshi's Island but cannot see him as being deserving of a playable character spot
Baby Mario by himself seems very unlikely.

Touché. That does indeed rule him out for that rule, but not if you don't combine the two rules. He'd still be a total WTF character. (not that I really want Ultra Machine's inclusion. I think he's too WTF for my tastes.)

That "leak" is weird, but I like the creativity behind it. Very clever. Hard to say I believe it though. It's too vague to be very noteworthy.

Considering decisions Sakurai has made before, and the fact that "main series" Mario has quite a few characters already, as well as Baby Bowser serving as the main villain of the Yoshi sub-series, not to mention that he looks exactly like Bowser Jr. now (aside from the lack of a bib) and can even serve as an easy semi-clone if need be, it isn't all that strange of an idea.

I wouldn't be opposed to having him play like a bowser/squirtle hybrid.
same basic moves as bowser
fire breath is replaced by spitting fire ball that he does in yoshi's island ds. he can charge it to release a bigger one like in yoshi's new island
his ground pound would work more like the way it does in yoshi's island
his up b could stay the same
side b could be more like wario's bite

final smash kamek shows up and sprinkles his magic.
then he grows and jumps into the background and shoots fireballs

That may be true, but that's every trolls dream: getting people worked up over a bunch of crap. On a related note, if that Cucco leak really happened and it wasn't genuine, the maker must be laughing himself to death knowing he made several people scour hundreds of pages looking for it.

I'm more of a Kamek supporter myself (we need more mage characters and Zelda's not enough dammit), but I can see Shy Guy working.

Really the only "mook" or "minion" character I can see making it in is Waddle Dee with a spear, like he was in Kirby's Return to Dreamland. But I'm not sure even Sakurai would consider it.

On-topic, is it true that people use the "my sibling was sick so we got early access" card a lot when making leaks? Because that's just wrong, man.

I'm not sure if anyone has said this but what about Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, they could be a tag-team character; like in Brothers in Time; they have been in several games; and they could hypothetically be part of the Yoshi's Island series, as that is were they started.
