Oh look! I'm not a new account! Yeah, I've been here a while. If you can grasp that fact, I come baring news. I recently got into some money and for that, I chose to travel to Japan. I hired a translator and visited Mr. Sakurai as Smash Bros. is one of my favorite series of all time. I told him if he could give me any news on the series and he reluctantly agreed.

He told me to expect quite a few newcomers and some surprises. Go ahead and take it with a grain of salt but when I get everything right, I will be the one laughing all the way to...uh...my...house.

MARIO
*Rosalina is the first and only Mario newcomer for the game.

*There were plans Waluigi to be playable but he was scrapped and his Assist has been greatly updated and is more devastating than ever before. After Waluigi, the plan was originally to have Toad playable but he was later decided to remain as Peach's B move.

*There were never any plans for Bowser Jr., Paper Mario and Daisy to be playable. The former was considered to be an Assist Trophy, but that idea was quickly rid of in favor of a cult favorite Mario character.

*Fawful is the new Mario Assist Trophy, he replaces Hammer Bro. Fawful is kind-of like this game's Mr. Resetti and he flies around the screen talking in his amazingly hilarious voice and will attack players at random.

DONKEY KONG
*The next character revealed will be Diddy Kong for Tropical Freeze's JP release date.

*There will be a DK newcomer, though. It's King K. Rool...AND Dixie Kong. K. Rool is a standalone player and the heaviest fighter on the roster. Since he is heavy, he is also very powerful and is capable of launching fighters like Kirby and Olimar off the screen with two heavy Smash attacks. He does use the blunderbuss as his final smash. He jumps in the air and releases cannonballs from the top of the screen while launching mini-cannonballs from the side of the screen. Gangplank Galleon is confirmed to be a stage.

*Dixie Kong will be paired with Diddy Kong. Although, they'll play more like Zelda/Shiek than the Ice Climbers. Dixie has her own separate moveset but her moves are not confirmed as she not fully worked on yet.

ZELDA
*There is a Zelda newcomer but who that is, I do not know. They are keeping it a real secret. I did hear the Japanese names for Ghirahim and Tingle but if they're playable, I do not know.

*Ganondorf will retain some of C. Falcon's moveset but he has been buffed. His moveset now includes his sword. The sword can be equipped by crouching down and pressing B.

FIRE EMBLEM
*The newcomer for Fire Emblem is Chrom. As if it wasn't obvious enough, he uses the Falchion as his main attack and does NOT replace Ike. Marth, Ike and Chrom are the Fire Emblem characters. Chrom is planned to be revealed to celebrate the anniversary of the very first game.

*The Assist Trophy for the series is now King Gangrel and Aversa, actually. Lyn does not return. Gangrel runs fast across the stage using his Levin Sword while Aversa flies in the air using her 'Aversa's Night' as an attack. They are considered by Sakurai to be the most "unexpected" additions.

WARIO & YOSHI
*There are no major changes but Wario's classic attire is his default attire. I dunno if movesets are changed or not.

*Ashley is Wario's Assist Trophy and replaces Kat & Ana.

METROID
*Ridley is Metroid's newcomer. They scaled him down to size. Remember that Brawl video showcasing him against the PT Trainer? He looks almost exactly like that. What they did is amazing according to Sakurai.
STAR FOX
*There are no major changes but Falco is further away from being a Fox clone and Wolf is no longer a semi-clone.

ANIMAL CROSSING
*Villager does have a female alt but nothing is changed.

*Tom Nook is the Assist Trophy alongside Mr. Resetti. He will go around randomly dropping bells, causing players to slip.

KID ICARUS
*Palutena is a newcomer. Her arsenal is almost entirely based from Uprising, is what I heard.

*Magnus is the KI Assist Trophy. He goes around swinging a sword and plays similar to Little Mac: fast, strong, but at times, suicidal.

POKEMON
*Mewtwo returns.

*Jigglypuff returns

*No cuts are made.

*Mewtwo and Lucario are not clones and their movesets barely resemble each others'.

KIRBY
*No newcomers for the Kirby series.

*Meta Knight will be revealed in the Summer of 2014, is what I remember.

MOTHER
*There are no major changes made to the Mother series.

RANDOM SERIES
*All misc. characters return with the addition of Little Mac. He looks like he does in the Wii reboot of Punch-Out!!

*WFT's male alt plays almost exactly like the female WFT.

*Yes, WFT does have a butt attack. HFT is given a headbutt instead.

*King Hippo and the Ghosts from Luigi's Mansion are Assist Trophies.

*I may have left out a few more veterans and stuff, but I am only retelling what I was told.

THIRD-PARTY
*We have Sonic and Mega Man in the third party slot.

*Snake does indeed return.

*Pac-Man will be the final newcomer revealed. Well, he won't be revealed...he'll be a secret character.

Go ahead and don't believe me. I know it's a lot to swallow but trust me, I know what I'm doing.

I doubt we'll find any good leaks today... two or three people decided to "leak," then it turned into a fad on GameFAQs. People are "leaking" just because it's the hip thing right now.

My thoughts exactly! That one with master hand is not possible at all, MH wouldn't male sense as a character. As for sandbag's rumor it must not be fake, don't bring numbers into rumors, although you may be right...

If I were any less of a completionist than I am, I wouldn't have bothered. This is just an additional Blueprint to compile from the DK64 that is GameFAQs, so to speak.

Give it a few days so the Dedede hype can die down, and everything will return to normal.

While I dont believe the "leak" I will say that it would be fun to control a smaller master hand with the gamepad and annoy the other players on the screen

Translator? Iunno. But I think we need Mario and Luigi to actually do their jobs as plumbers with this amount of leaks.

This latest one bothers me mostly with the Fire Emblem characters. I don't know why, but I feel like if they were to keep Ike and we were to get a third rep, then it would not be Chrom. That's just me though. Anywho, I do hope that the Female Villager gets to be an alt. However, I doubt the HFT is an alt of the Wii Fit Trainer as that would completely throw off the hit-box for the character. I think that he would at least be an Assist Trophy or something along those lines instead of an alt. (Sorry if that got off-topic with the second part)

I appreciate the offer, but I think someone who has a more proven history of activity on the site would be a preferable pick. This would be a fairly long-lasting and time-consuming undertaking, I'd feel more comfortable leaving it in the hands of someone with a precedent of frequent and longstanding contribution.

As long as they can keep the OP updated fairly regularly it doesn't matter a whole lot to me, but I'd be more inclined to make someone who has been around at least for a few months with pretty frequent activity OP. I'd like to make sure the thread's in good, proven hands; the catalogue of "leaks" it will only become more important the closer we get to release.

There are people I think would be well suited to this task, but if they don't volunteer then overall I'd still prefer it be maintained by someone who actually wants to do it.

Alright, in dueime you shall see i spend so much time on forums lol, i have a life still though lol. I will end up on here a lot it's quite a fun forum and the only place i find smash rummors anyday. I hope some on here end up real.

Hello, I am a former Namco-Bandai worker who was fired from the company about two years ago (moved to the US recently). I know a bit of information about the next Super Smash Brothers as two of my good friends back in Japan are working on it. I don't know too much, certainly not what they are showing at E3 (as that is locked up tight). I do know a few things however and I'm willing to share, provided no one tries to get me in trouble.

Embarrassing as it is, I had a severe porn addiction and ended up watching porn at work on more than one occasion. I got fired pretty quickly as I was easily replaceable. It was a terrible time in my life.

I decided I wanted to leak this information but from browsing GameFAQs I knew I'd rather start off somewhere small so I could slowly gain a following. I went looking for Nintendo fan forums. The first one I found was called Nintendo Fan Forum and it nearly gave my computer a trojan (Avast saved me). I spent a few hours looking and eventually I found someone on another forum (it was 4 am so I'm blanking on the name) mention this board. I came here and saw it had a relatively small Smash community so I figured I'd start here. If I start small, maybe the information will move farther away from my identity. I don't want to get in any trouble.

Alright, people wanted to know what I know, and it isn't a whole lot.

From my legal department connection:

Roster is pretty much finalized with two third party deals still being negotiated. Roster decisions went on for too long in both Brawl and Melee.

Early on, they had a little fun employee poll on which new Nintendo characters they'd like to see. Top three were Ridley, Tingle, and Professor Layton (the whole legal team apparently LOVES Layton).

SEGA and Konami are obviously negotiated again to have Sonic and Snake back. Namco obviously is getting a character ("Three guesses on that one" he said).

Capcom is discussing to have a character added, but Megaman is off the table.

One of the possible third parties is "a big shocker" from "a more adult game".

No Square Enix, no Ubisoft.

From my friend who does models:

Working on a stage from Other M, says it's the room where you fight Ridley.

Worked on some items, new ones include a second laser gun with a different style of attack (he claims) and a wrench.

Knows someone who is modelling a K.K. Slider assist trophy (disappointed him because that's his favorite Nintendo character).

He doesn't do character models.

There's at least two new female characters (he won't tell me who).

Two characters are "on the chopping block" (again, won't tell me who).

Game will have over 40 characters.

Ganondorf is getting a new moveset.

I read the part where the company had a poll for top three favorite NINTENDO characters, read Ridley, Tingle, and LAYTON and stopped reading.

Pretty sure Layton isn't a 1st Party character, and Layton's company was never mentioned.
