Akko is my dear daughter!
Well technically Sakurai could've researched from here, since this was an item in Smash:Does staff at Nintendo even know what the hell a Tin Star is?

In a way, they were.Ice Climbers really weren't.
Good point. In a way, they were.
Well, more than Tin Star, at least...
Don't know why the hell Tin Star of all things would influence the inclusion of the Super Scope. I would understand Yoshi's Safari, Battle Clash, or Super Scope 9, but Tin Star is random as ****.Well technically Sakurai could've researched from here, since this was an item in Smash:
To be fair, they could redesign him.Good point.
Tin Star's character alone just screams "BAD IDEA."
Yeah... aside from being one of their first arcade games and a launch title for the NES, Ice Climber it really wasn't that important (not to mention it's aged about as well as Lindsey Lohan and maybe a B- of a game at best). Definitely the most obscure characters added to Smash Bros so far. The point still stands that Tin Star goes well beyond that in terms of obscurity. It's not important, it didn't sell well, there's virtually no demand for a revival, it was a region exclusive, etc. As I said before, Sheriff would make a lot more sense but even that game would be stretching it to barely believable lengths.Ice Climbers really weren't.
Tin Star moving carriage stage I'd wager is based upon the first level of the Tin Star game.Expanded upon on site:
-Pokemon stage from X/Y on 3ds version. Seems like a cafe.
-Donkey Kong stage called Gangplank Galleon (?)
-Tin Star stage involving a moving carriage.
-Super Mario 3D World stage with Plessie as a stage hazard.
Pokemon/DK stages were stated in previous leaks recently that sound just like the ones mentioned here.
I never say that it has a chance, only that is owned by Nintendo .Eh, even if it could be categorized the same way as the Wonderful 101 and Sin and Punishment, it's still a super obscure game to pull a character from, especially with it being an NA exclusive. It'd be like Oogtar from the Super Mario World cartoon making an appearance (and being playable, no less).
Honestly.Yeah... aside from being one of their first arcade games and a launch title for the NES, Ice Climber it really wasn't that important (not to mention it's aged about as well as Lindsey Lohan and maybe a B- of a game at best). Definitely the most obscure characters added to Smash Bros so far. The point still stands that Tin Star goes well beyond that in terms of obscurity. I knew the game but had no clue you didn't play as someone actually named mr. game and watch.Honestly.
I still think Mr. G&W still hold the "obscure" title.
I mean, let's face it, how many knew what a Game and Watch was beforehand?
But Fire Emblem had 5 games in Japan before Marth and Roy were in Melee and was decently successful while Mother had 3 games with Earthbound (Mother 2) being released internationally. Both Fire Emblem and Mother were decently established franchises in Japan so it's not really comparable.Fire emblem was japan exclusive, and Lucas's game is still japan exclusive (Wasn't rob a toy made to bring the nes to american markets?). It's not like obscurity or exclusivity matters much at all when deciding characters, It's what the character can bring to the game.
Well, technically.I knew the game but had no clue you didn't play as someone actually named mr. game and watch.
R.O.B. was released in Japan as well. That's why when you play with Brawl on JP Language he has a white and red color scheme and is called Robot.Fire emblem was japan exclusive, and Lucas's game is still japan exclusive (Wasn't rob a toy made to bring the nes to american markets?). It's not like obscurity or exclusivity matters much at all when deciding characters, It's what the character can bring to the game.
Being successful isn't really a factor, either. Characters have made it into smash while being exclusive to a certain country and characters have made it into smash despite only having one game. The only difference with Tin Star is that these are both contributing factors to his "obscurity".But Fire Emblem had 5 games in Japan before Marth and Roy were in Melee and was decently successful while Mother had 3 games with Earthbound (Mother 2) being released internationally. Both Fire Emblem and Mother were decently established franchises in Japan so it's not really comparable.
Okay, thanks for the clarification.R.O.B. was released in Japan as well. That's why when you play with Brawl on JP Language he has a white and red color scheme and is called Robot.
I'll put it this way. This tin star thing seems more obscure than WFT.
People at least somewhat knew that she existed. Tin star though...
Check NinDB, they'll tell you all about Nintendo's saltiest corners. This tin star thing seems more obscure than WFT.
People at least somewhat knew that she existed. Tin star though...
Gotcha. You're right. The leak claims Dixie to be revealed on Tropical Freeze. @ IsmaR I think you need to strike that point as red and move it to the Dead Post.
I know, i thought that mr. game watch was the main character rather then he was just made up as a combination of all the people in the game.Well, technically.
There is no actual "Mr. Game and Watch". He's just a bunch of Game and Watch games put into one.
To put this into prospective, Tin Star is so obscure that it was never even mentioned in the Chronicle, the same Chronicle that made references to products like Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics, Vertical Force, Solar Striker, and even bloody Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak.I'll put it this way.
I'm the kind of guy that listens to C64 music. And pride myself in pointless game trivia.
And somehow even I didn't know about this guy.
I mean, it's really weird for me.To put this into prospective, Tin Star is so obscure that it was never even mentioned in the Chronicle, the same Chronicle that made references to products like Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics, Vertical Force, Solar Striker, and even bloody Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak.
I don't know.Maybe thats why it wasnt mentioned.
So that 0% of theworld expects it.
Sakurai planning in advance
I think you just need GreenReaperGod's (most recent) dead/alive leaks archive thing in the OP.Gotcha.
I need to redo the whole OP, go over the new ones and determine which are worth adding/declaring fake or not, and more. Shouldn't take me long.
Nah. Still more likely than miiverses favorites Goku, Shadow and Power Puff Girls.Well, it was an America exclusive game that Nintendo only published.
We'd see DBZ's Broly before we saw Tin Star in Smash.
It's not from the people that made Earthworm Jim, it was made by the people behind Plok.I mean, it's really weird for me.
If anything, I would've known about this game. But I haven't.
Though, the game does give me an Earthworm Jim vibe.
Maybe it's from the same people?
Plok? Oh! That game...It's not from the people that made Earthworm Jim, it was made by the crew behind Plok.
Other than the PPG, incorrect.Nah. Still more likely than miiverses favorites Goku, Shadow and Power Puff Girls.
Makes sense. It's not from the people that made Earthworm Jim, it was made by the people behind Plok.
They don't even know who Kiddy Kong is, let alone Tin Star.Does staff at Nintendo even know what the hell a Tin Star is?
Actually...Other than the PPG, incorrect.
I like Earthworm Jim!Makes sense.
Neither were that good.
I love Plok. I met the guys who made it once, they live in the same town as my parents. It's not from the people that made Earthworm Jim, it was made by the people behind Plok.
In Luminose City in XY, the entire city's shtick is 'Style'. The more things you do in the city gets you 'style points', like visiting a cafe, riding a taxi or going to the museum. The city is full of Cafes, but honestly they're completely pointless outside of getting 'style'. Really, the ONLY major things related to cafes are:For those familiar with Pokemon X/Y, how easy-to-guess would you consider a Pokemon Cafe stage to be? Is it like a Bowser's Castle or a Gangplank Galleon in that it's a pretty obvious choice, or is it more obscure?
