I still have no idea what to believe honestly... Would have been nice if the leaker took a photo while she was in the middle of an attack animation or something instead of an idle pose.

But would that really help? People who claim she's an Assist Trophy could just claim that's a part of her Assist attack.

"I hate to say it but I believe this "leak" is fake. Now I'm not saying Palutena couldn't be in Smash, but from someone who has to use a camera to record footage of the 3DS I can spot one very big thing, the lighting. No matter how good your camera is, if there is light somewhere in the room the 3DS' screen will pick it up. So seeing light on one side of the screen, with darkness on the other, while the image is perfectly balanced has me a bit concerned."

Well, I'm cool with Palutena, if it's true (even, personally, preferring Medusa).... but, starting to think how the possibility for other franchises besides Mario and Zelda, to get another rep is so low, give me a strange feel that Kid Icarus getting its 2nd rep in its second Smash be a bit unfair. :\/.... but, whatever.

Of course it would. If I had the opportunity to leak 2 photos I'd take a picture of her idle pose and then one in her shielding animation just to legitimize that she isn't merely an assist.

Keep in mind the game is still in development, so rudimentary components like black lines or a pause screen frame may not even be added. During the development, only certain comppnents are focused on, so thats what they include. They dont make a new cartridge for every step in development. The main screen probably hasnt been completed yet, for example.

The main focus of the supposed leak was the character, and having 2 screens that match perfectly (or extremely well) bodes well. The main problem with leaks is inconsistency, which is absent from this one.

Well, her with a shield would help, but an attack would only help in the most minor of ways, in my opinion.

I'm not saying this just because I want it to be true, but while playing my 3DSXL, in particular lighting, I have not experienced problems with other lights screwing up the visibility.

It appears that the picture were taken in a rather dark room, which would deter a lot of glare issues.

Once the game comes out we will know if it is fake or not. Then we will be comparing Palutena's actual game model to this one to see if it was actually real.

I've been one of those lurkers watching this thread for a little while now, but i think it's finally time I piped up: I so hope this is real. Palutena is one of my very top hopes for SSB4, and while I know to take every 'leak' with a grain of salt, I can't help but feel incredibly hyped. This thing might be just the tip of the iceberg. I'll be keeping an eye on you guys for further analysis. Stay frosty!

You do know almost all other lords of the series have access to convoys, plus if the the other FE characters use their original first class design, I doubt Chrom would use something not from the lords class. I rather not argue this here, as this is a leak discussion thread not a fire emblem thread.

Given the leaker has not given any explaination for the pictures, we can only really just make assumptions about how they may or may not have gotten the pictures.

Assuming for a moment it's legitimate, we may be mistaken in assuming these photos were taken during gameplay. Perhaps these pictures were taken with the game's screenshot saver, and saved to the 3DS's internal memory. That might make it easier to access the pictures in private or to leak them. I don't know, just thinking aloud, I'm still not completely convinced one way or the other.

Phones and cameras don't necessarily use a flash when they take a picture. If the leaker took the picture, I'm almost positive they would have been caught.

-I'm on the side that this is a very, VERY elaborate fake. I'm always inclined to not believe leaks, but this is a pretty good fake.
Though it's not going to be a surprise if she's in the game or not.

Nothing has made it confirmed false. This is extremely good news for Palutena.

I can't see that Translator leak being true. It has too many unlikely things in it. And the things that it has (so far) correctively predicted are things that anyone could have guessed (Ashley was never going to be playable, and Palutena is one of the more likely newcomers).

The thing that makes me disbelieve the Translator leak (apart from just being lucky on the Ashley Assist Trophy thing) is that it first went up, people acknowledged it but nothing more, then Ashley was announced as an Assist Trophy and because it happened to state that, people now consider it a very possible legitimate leak and here on Smashboards we were discussing that perhaps the whole "I ran into money and had Sakurai tell me info via a translator" story was just that, a story, and that even though the origin was just a story meant to throw off people at Nintendo finding him out, the info contained within was real. And here's the thing that makes me disbelieve the "translator leak" entirely: Not very long after we had that discussion and discussed that possibility, the original poster of the "translator leak" cropped back up on GameFAQS and basically said exactly what we were discussing by basically going "See, TOLD YOU Ashley was an assist trophy, and yes I just made up the story as to how I got that info so as to throw off Nintendo", this post being made not very long after we had discussed that possibility. Very VERY suspicious if you ask me...

I think it's a nice touch. Omega is the 24th and last letter of the Greek alphabet. So my prediction is that Palutena will be revealed this Friday. Or on the next 24th, or the next. Hey I got all year.

So he sneaks into Sakurais office when its time for lunch break and find the master 3DS - the holy grail. The holder of every screenshot of the day for the next 3 months. It was his. He loaded up smash, but figured if his operation were to be run successfully, he'd go to the snapshot collection and take the first two pictures, being Palutena and Mario. So he takes the pictures and loads them to 4Chan. But he got greedy. He wanted more. As those are loading he gets a few more pictures on his Iphone. He would be the biggest thing on the internet. Until he feels something funny about him. He didn't know what this feeling in his stomach was. Was it guilt? He didn't know.

He turned around to see a dark figure over him. And looked down and saw half a Mr. Saturn pierced through him. The dark figure came closer, pulled out a gun, and said, "Hello, I am Masahiro Sakurai of Sora, the creator ..."

I don't know, I frequent this thread and every leak gets shot down within minutes. Sometimes hours, but even then, there is always SOMETHING overt that makes the leak fake, even if we choose to ignore it. This literally has nothing and it is "on fire" we still have 110 guests watching, I was on like 5 hours ago and the discussions are still rampant. So I am going to insert myself under the "this fake is legit" camp once again. If there was something to find, someone would have found it by now.

I'll give those pictures this much: They are easily more convincing then the usual, I'd even go as far to say they're the best 'leaked or faked' pictures we've seen. Plus, from what I'm reading, the models and backgrounds used do not match any other pictures which would requires great dedication if it's a fake.

Having said that, something seems off in her model but I can't put my finger on it...

She looks kinda lifeless, like a statue, there's not rhythm or gesture in her pose like with the other fighters.

See, here's the thing. It's from a user on 4chan, who could have all the anonymity they want.

I'm actually pretty upset, just because they could leak an image of whatever newcomer they want, and say "oh it's just an assist trophy" to troll people and we wouldn't know any better until release.

That said, maybe it is, but I'm hoping, HOPING that if its real Sakurai wouldn't go through the trouble of making AT models as high quality as that (meaning she's playable) due to potential graphical issues (8 ICs were potentially going to be an issue, so adding in another high quality character model might exacerbate that.)

C'mon, Sakurai...

I think that the fact that it;s from 4chan gives it more credibility.

I've seen a lot of leaks happen in that place, simply because of the anonymity, it's literally like casting a bottle out to sea.
