You don't happen to have anything recorded? It's hard to help if we don't know what you need help with...

Ikr? I'm good at Kirby online and when I run into one, even the noob ones tend to you know, outsmart me in some way, they just shield and roll and somehow grab perfectly and use Dair, yet I fall for it a lot............

I can't get training mode to identify the ftilt > dtilt step as a combo on any character. Were you able to?

No idea where to put this, but in the Kirby vs Ryu Match up, Kirbys copy ability also gives him the move combinations, so Kirby actually copies all 3 of Ryus hadokens, (the blue, slighty stronger blue and that red one) which might make fighting Ryu a little easier
Posting it in here too.

It could just be me, but the frame data in the grab section (especially d-throw) looks really wrong...

How do you guys get around Yoshi and his damned eggs he throws. Whenever I try to approach I'm dodging eggs left and right until I'm within range, then they roll away with the egg roll.

OR I try to air dodge in, and usually get pummeled out of the air by eggs at ALL angles...HATE YOSHI!!

A strat I found very good is if your at an offline tourney you slap the controller out of there hands. Otherwise your chances are slim

So, I was thinking about facing Ness mains...knowing they have to come around with a PK Thunder to recover, Kirby should have a distinct advantage in that he can FLY out & intercept the PK Thunder, leaving Ness to die, yet can still recover, depending on the distance away and number of jumps used. My thoughts are thus, if recovering from below a Ness player, could a Kirby use Final Cutter, to come upwards fast enough to intercept the PK Thunder, and kill Ness? ALSO, would getting hit by the PK Thunder knock Kirby out of the FC and give him his jumps back?? I'm at work right now so I cant test this...

Thank you so much for this guide! I've been a Kirby main for a good while, so it's great to get some tips on improving my game with him. I'll be referring to this often :4kirby:

You know, now that Kurogamer's gotten the Frame Data up, shouldn't this be updated or at least link to it?

It should have been updated with the 1.1.1 (1.1.2) patch. My lack of a timely update only reflects the priority of my IRL life over my Virtual Life.

I do, however, appreciate your concerns and I will put it to use to motivate me into scheduling a time where I can sit down and get to work on another update. The drawback of being a diligent worker, at least for me, is being burdened with the foreknowledge of the amount of time I dedicate to such tasks that I consider important. I ask that everyone be patient with any updates - especially considering I do not earn a penny for the many hours I spend completing these guides.

Still struggling winning with Kirby it's like I destroy the whole game then at the end I get hit by a random smash attack or something stupid it's like everyone else can be careless all the time and the one time I mess up it's over because he's light.

Can you define 'aerial attack lag'?

Is it how long before another attack can be thrown out?

And would start up be however many frames before the moves hit?

Anyone got hitbox/hurtbox images for Kirby's aerials?

When I say 'Aerial Attack Lag' it is referring to the number of recovery frames an Aerial Attack has when landing on the ground from the air. This, of course, is not taking Auto Cancels, etc. into account; it's just the amount of frames after landing from an Aerial Attack where Kirby is 'lagged'.

'Start-up' frames would be the number of frames an attack requires before a HitBox is active. I think I also say 'hits on frame x' which is when the first active hitbox appears. The most detailed way of this would be 'Active Frames x to y' which gives the span of the attacks active frames.

When does U-throw KO?

The following values represent the lowest percent required to get a 'Deadly Blow' on a given opponent. A 'Deadly Blow' is when an opponent is launched and has a graphical effect that looks like black & red lightning.

Note:
A Deadly Blow does not guarantee a KO. Additional factors must be taken into account to determine whether or not an opponent will get KO'd, but a Deadly Blow is a consistent way of judging the likelihood of a KO.

The following values were done in Training Mode (thus, no Rage factored in), before Damage is applied, and with the CPU set to 'Stop'. Since Directional Influence does not change the values, any DI the CPU may have inputted will not have had an effect in my studies.

Pretty sweet list! With this new Up Throw and run speed, foes won't be able to get away with sitting in their shield at death percent and. Our matchups against characters who die pre-150 should improve thanks to this and with platforms, counterpicking just became a whole lot sweeter. And....wait second...where's :4mewtwo:?

So these are the percent before the throw damage is added, correct?

Correct. I've found it more practical in the middle of a game to remember values before damage is applied.
I'm going to go add a note about that though, just to clarify it.

I made this on like day 1 of the patch. This list shows all the uthrow kill %s for kirby with DI on smashville (not the platform). I also added in the kill % for all of the monados when kirby has the ability, default shulk though cus that would take too long. Also, the optimal DI for the throw is not 90 degrees left or right but to survive 1-2% longer, you can angle the control stick slightly lower, in between the 45 degree notch and the 90 degree one (sorry if I'm unclear). If I missed anything or some of my %s are wrong feel free to correct me.

Thanks for the link and the info. It's very insightful. I tend to keep DI out of formulas, at least initially.

Edit:
Also, I love your avatar. It reminds me of a Kirby version of Fei Long's Ultra Combo (USFIV). XD

Haha thanks! I made my avatar right after i came home from the first tournament I actually did well at lol. And yeah, these %s are kinda high considering the fact that I haven't tested platforms yet but for me at least this is a good start so when you know they reach these %s it's literally a guaranteed kill. Also, I guess since this is our first time actually talking to each other, thanks for making a hup canceling video (the brawl one) as I basically use hup cancelling every time I can, even Holy complemented me on the fact that I use hup cancels regularly lol
