You'd have to be literally suicidal to utter the question "Is Wario A Libertarian?" to the Smash Bros. The entire smash roster gets into a passionate, complex debate for days on end, the entire roster forgoing sleep in the process. Both sides going all out, with anecdotes, statistics, philosophical inquiries, empirical data, lab studies, game theorem structures, and other various methods to prove their side right. There is much yelling involved on everyone's part. They tried asking himself, but even he isn't exactly sure at this point.

Simon is a good natured, jolly fellow, the people pleaser and the guy who’d pay for your whole restaurant tab. Even if he sometimes gets common idioms wrong. He also seems to have a natural affinity with Pit, Samus, Duck Hunt and Mega Man, for some reason.

Richter is the casanova wannabe, trying to pick up the ladies, with mixed results.

Cosplay Pikachu has taken an interest in Clemont's Bunnelby. After seeing how Ash's Pikachu juggles being a Smasher with raising a family (a partner in the form of Dawn's Buneary, 2 Pichu pups [1 of each gender], and 2 Buneary kits [1 of each gender]), Cosplay Pikachu decided she wanted to take on that challenge too.

So my basic headcanon is that Smash Bros is an occasional event that has many gaming universes battling it out in a neutral area (Battlefield / FD) with visits to various worlds for certain battles/competitions. It's taken very seriously so characters like Ganondorf and Mewtwo partake with intent to win.

I'll probably update this with all the newcomers when they're revealed, but for now...

- Was invited by the admission committee (prob Mario, Link, Fox, and Samus) after careful consideration. Is being treated like "the new kid" who has just stepped into a world they could have never imaged.
- Has had Peach begging Mario to let her in for years. Mario has finally given in and is letting Peach bring her best friend along to the event.
- Wasn't invited at all. Literally got so fed up that he was treated as a battle scenario rather than a competitor that he forced his way into the competition and no one has the balls to tell him no.

Okay, so to update this...

- Snake was chosen over him a long time ago, but he acted like he didn't care. When the admission crew decided to bring Snake back, they decided to bring Simon along as well. He again, acted like he doesn't care, but he's pretty ecstatic.
- Begged Simon to bring him along, but Simon just didn't care enough to ask. Nonetheless, Richter mysteriously showed up to the competition without anyone knowing how he got there. Every time someone asks he just laughs it off.
- Was pretty confident he'd be invited last time and was dumbfounded when Lucina and Robin made it without him. He was just starting to adjust to the fact he missed his chance when he surprisingly got invited. The fact he didn't make it last time is still a touchy subject though.
- When the admission committee noticed they've been letting in more repeat characters, they asked Samus if she had any ideas. She tried desperately to cover up that Dark Samus existed... eventually the rest of them figured it out and outvoted Samus on DS's inclusions.
- He was one of the only people to ever DECLINE an invitation several times. He eventually stopped getting invited, therefore his pride felt offended, and decided to finally attend to cover up the fact he wasn't actually invited to join this time.

-Master Hand is a hologram created & controlled by Captain N's Power Glove. Unable to find a place in the Nintendo universe as a hero, he opted to become a villain instead and created MH as his avatar.

-Crazy Hand was an experiment by Captain N to control multiple hands at once. Turns out this is exceedingly difficult to do with 1 power glove hence why CH acts so erratically.

-The original MH was killed for good in SSE. The MH in SSB4 (Master Core) is an imposter that took his place.

-Due to her upbringing by the chozo, has developed an attraction to bird-like features. As such she's developed a crush on that she keeps suppressed as she views it too unprofessional of her.

-Leaf is the trainer of and been an off-screen coach since the 1st game.

- is currently suffering from long term effects of a poison mushroom he ate the other day.

- & are still wondering why they haven't been invited back for Ultimate

- is a cousin of from their father's side of the family, hence why he has the surname of Mario.

has developed an interest in the peculiar qualities of 's body, and regularly stalks him to find out more. Game & Watch is clueless about it.

Otherwise no one wants to talk to her due to a tendency of flipping out and attacking whenever approached.

Boss-wise, tries to capture a Rathalos, but the Hunter's Guild arrests him for not being registered as one of their hunters.

Death took a trip to the Underworld's Reaper Valley to request the Great Reaper's support in the form of his lesser Reapers, in an attempt to harvest more souls and "fill the entire screen with flying scythes".

Because of their aversion to bats, Simon and Richter are not allowed to enter the upper attic where the Crobat line colony roosts with their pups. It is believed that Simon and Richter will try to harm the bat Pokemon if they were allowed to enter the upper attic. Simon and Richter also ask Ash that they keep his Noivern out of their sight.

Chrom is gay, like most of the other male Fire Emblem Smashers. He is also the newest member of Marth's alliance.

Link has recruited Pichu Big (a friend of Yoshi's) into his alliance, mainly because he wasn't sure which of the Inklings (Boy or Girl) he should recruit, fearing if he recruited one it might spark a gender discrimination lawsuit from the other (the Inklings operate as a pair). When Link told the Inklings he was adding Pichu Big to his alliance, the girl Inkling said "it's cool, if that blue-haired dude adds two more guys to his army, give us a call".

King K. Rool is friends with Urban Meyer, dating back to his time at Florida (whose nickname is the Gators, playing on the fact that K. Rool is a crocodilian himself). He is standing by Meyer as his job at Ohio State hangs in the balance.

Pikachu does NOT like Dark Samus - she scares him.

Richter likes to think that he controls the universe and that he even made a TV show about it. Everyone just shrugs.

Daisy has a very competitive personality, owing to her many appearances in sports games. She even calls herself "the Lynn Loud of this place" (if you've watched The Loud House, you get what I am saying).

Alternate skins are a class of Echoes in which the characters retain the exact same movesets as the default costume, these are called "Costume Echoes":

Snake is returning to Smash. Pikachu, through Lucario speaking to the press, has sent out a warning to Snake: stay away from Samus, or you'll feel electric shocks worse than anything Ocelot has dished out.

Snake doesn't understand why Pikachu of all Smashers is sending out a warning, since Captain Falcon is his main competition for her affections. The reality is that Pikachu has known Samus a long time, since the SSE days, and just doesn't trust Snake around her.

These are my in-universe reasons for Echo Fighters.

is an Echo because Phazon has not spread to the Smash universe, so she can't use too much of it. The Smash Ball lets her unleash much more Phazon than normal.
is an Echo because she doesn't fight much in her home universe, so she asked for help making a moveset.
is an Echo because offered to train her after she nearly lost to .
is an Echo because he saw beat and asked him for advice.
is an Echo because he wants to prove that he can do what does better than can.
is an Echo because the way both and fight has been passed down for generations by the Belmont clan.

has a very strong dislike (if not outright hatred) of most of the monsterous looking characters. This hurts 's feelings and he's constantly trying to get on the guy's good side.

sees an an ethusiastic rookie. really likes the guy's style but he doesn't feel he's quite as evil as he should be.

and shop at the same stores.

think that since he's basically evil Mario and that is evil Samus they should totally date. Really he just thinks there's some hot alien chick in the armor.

isn't just the standard Mario wearing different clothes, he's from an alternate universe where Princess Peach never gets kidnapped, leaving him free to pursue a very successful pharmaceutical career in New Donk City. That's why he's not as agile as , he isn't used to platforming around the Mushroom Kingdom like his counterpart.

Also he hits people with electric attacks because his gloves have built-in defibrillators.
